    Programme Manager (P8): Quality Assurance (Re-Advertisement)

     

    Minimum Requirements

    • Relevant Master’s Degree.
    • A relevant PhD or PhD in progress will be an added advantage.
    • 5 years of relevant experience in higher education on teaching and learning.
    • Knowledge of quality enhancement.
    • Understanding students and staff development.
    • Knowledge of programme development.
    • Computer literacy, report writing, research skills.

    Duties and responsibilities 

    • Assurance and Enhancement in the formulation and monitoring of the CTLPD strategy on quality enhancement.
    • Make inputs in policy development concerning Quality Assurance portfolio.
    • Provide a detailed operational plan of the quality assurance portfolio in alignment with Quality Assurance and Enhancement portfolio and CTLPD strategic goals.
    • Provide a professional service to university-wide Quality Assurance.
    • Act as a point of coordination for the Schools/Faculties regarding all aspects of accreditations.
    • Ensure programmes are funded at the correct HIMS code level.
    • Coordinate the preparation for a new programme to serve at academic planning committee for recommendation to senate.
    • Provide training to department personnel on the accreditation process.
    • Maintain accreditation compliance documentation to include collecting and uploading proofs of compliance.
    • Provide support to schools/faculties on feedback received from statutory bodies.
    • Assume accountability for the operational management of the portfolio.
    • Make inputs in costing the portfolio implementation plans.
    • Provide regular management reports on operational and strategic matters to the Senior Manager: quality assurance and enhancement.
    • Identify and report possible risks that can hamper the achievement of key performance indicators.
    • Implement the information management system for accreditation processes.
    • Provide website content for keeping the development programmes website up to date.
    • Provide management relief support as provided by the senior manager.
    • Implement and manage operational activities.
    • Participate in reviewing current quality assurance policies and procedures

    Administrator (P13): E-Learning

    Minimum requirements 

    • Relevant Diploma.
    • Willingness to work outside of normal working hours.
    • 3-4 years related experience.
    • Computer literate.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Administer e-learning Resource Materials: Core Curriculum and Computer Literacy

    • Provide support to the Manager, to make sure the interactive and innovative e-learning resource materials are available.
    • Assist with curriculum content and coordinate the computer literacy component of the first-year core-curriculum module.
    • Manage the content for the computer literacy online platform for the first-year core curriculum module.
    • Liaise with academic literacy Lecturers on issues of assessment and student progress.
    • Provide support to the Manager, to ensure that teaching and learning video content material for students are available.
    • Assist with the editing and proofread of new resources.

    Learning Management System (LMS) Support

    • Ensure that the teaching and learning video content material for academic staff, on how to use Moodle, is available.
    • Provide support in identifying e-tools and new approaches to e-learning.
    • Provide support to academic staff on effective implementation of the learning management system.
    • Assist with the managing of all the digital teaching and learning content developed by Sol Plaatje University.

    Database Management

    • Assist with establishment of efficient file sharing/updating/archival processes
    • Assist with secure proper databases
    • Ensure disaster recovery plans are in place, to secure access during emergencies, strikes, etc.

    User Education and Training

    • Provide training for e-tutors and assist with the user support for students on the online learning platform.
    • Assist with the orientation of new staff and students on e-learning systems.
    • Assist with providing training for academic staff on the online teaching and learning platform.

    Client Satisfaction

    • Measure and monitor user satisfaction indicators and highlight any issues of concern.

    Personal/Professional Development

    • Keep abreast of developments within e-learning and its implications for SPU.

    Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting

    • Contribute in data generation and collection for research into teaching and learning to advance and develop e-learning.
    • Relevant operational reports as and when required.
    • Research and implement best practices.
    • Communicate and consult with relevant stakeholders.
