    Manager: Grain Marketing GWK - VKB Grain, Douglas / KImberley

    Job Description

    • Responsible for providing strategic focus on the grain trading activities of GWK through focused customer relationships, market analysis and risk management. Furthermore, ensures the management of the trading team and grain trading departments, maximum profitability to create value for shareholders  -  always aligned with the values of the group.

    Requirements

    • B Com or equivalent qualification

    Pellet Press Operator - QPro Feeds, Bethelehem (REF:2024122)

    Job Description

    • The ideal team player will be responsible for all aspects of continuous operation of the pellet mill, including safety, equipment operation, monitoring, machine set up, cleaning and administrative functions to support site operations.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12
    • Minimum of 2-3 years in animal feed manufacturing company
    • Must demonstrate mechanical aptitude.
    • Ability to read data and trends to make appropriate process adjustments.
    • Proven record in upholding safety standards.
    • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal job instructions.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Constantly reviews the operation of pellet mills, and related equipment to monitor
      production/quality, anticipating and solving problems in a timely manner and identifying opportunities for improvement
    • Follows standard operating instructions/procedures in the performance of all operator areas including start-up, shutdown and normal operations
    • Ensure standards of safety and housekeeping are maintained
    • Perform basic maintenance to keep equipment in clean, good working order
    • Regulate pellet press settings (temperatures, speed and steam pressure) according to product specifications and standards
    • Observe and maintain conditioner temperature and settings according to specifications
    • Monitor and control Fat coater spraying and mixing of product.
    • Daily cleaning of pellet press according to company requirements.
    • Maintain sieve condition daily: In good condition for sifting process.
    • Be present at all times while pellet press is in operation.
    • Cleans pellet press as per cleaning procedure.
    • Ensure that planned maintenance is done on the Pellet press by Maintenance department as per daily, weekly and monthly schedule.
    • Assist artisan with die & roller changes on pellet mill.
    • Assist with breakdowns on pellet mill.
    • Grease pellet mill at the beginning of each shift.
    • Clean chokes on pellet press, coolers & elevators.
    • Clean conditioner and feeders on pellet mill on a weekly basis.
    • Make sure that pellet length is correct before continuing with production of each batch/product
    • Ensure in-line samples are taken as per SOP

    Internal Training Officer - Grain Field Chickens Abattoir , Reitz

    Job Description

    • Responsible for planning and organising the internal training department processes and resources to ensure the delivery of technical and food safety training in the maintenance and processing departments (plant), contributing to operational effectiveness, reduced risk, compliance to relevant policies and regulatory requirements and customer satisfaction.

    Job Requirements

    • Grade 12 / NQF 4 Equivalent.
    • A relevant Training qualification (diploma or degree) required.
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a learning & development environment.
    • Proven technical & food safety training delivery and design record desired.
    • Some experience in a production/ manufacturing plant environment.
    • Knowledge of production machinery, processes and standards desired.
    • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement/ 20 Keys.
    • Familiar with and ideally qualified in Six Sigma/ Lean process desired.
    • Must be fully computer literate with experience in Microsoft 365 tools (Excel, PPT) as well as collaboration tools (SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams).

    • Diagnosis of technical and food safety training needs to ensure that training solutions are proactive and support the internal training needs of the plant in order to ensure food safety audit compliance.
    • Development of learning solutions to support all technical and food safety learning needs in the plant.
    • Conducts technical and food safety annual training and development needs assessment/ skills matrix for the maintenance department and plant.
    • Develops technical and food safety training programs and objectives for the internal training department, to address the technical and food safety training needs of the plant.
    • Obtains and /or develops effective training materials utilizing a variety of media suited for the plant audience.
    • Trains and coach internal trainers and other internal stakeholders involved in food safety and maintenance efforts.
    • Plans, organizes, facilitates and orders supplies for internal training department training events.
    • Writing of SOP & SWP in conjunction with the engineering/ plant line managers.
    • Ensuring that SOP and written Procedures are up to date.

    Job Description

    • Responsible for the management of the warehouse during own shift, which includes but is not limited to stocking of stock/ products, stock control and records and the timeous loading of trucks according to standard operating procedures, whilst maintaining operational standards and budgetary targets.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 or NQF Level equivalent.
    • Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management/ Logistics.
