PURPOSE OF ROLE
The purpose of this position is to conceive, design and produce quality technical outputs to satisfy our client’s requirements, within the boundaries of the relevant codes, standards and internal engineering processes and sound engineering practice. - Prepare design specifications in response to a proper engineering analysis of the scope, work requirements and solution options. The Project Coordinator is ultimately responsible for the successful technical execution of the project. The key focus of the Project Coordinator on the Steam Generator Replacement project is to oversee logistics - the arrangement for plant, equipment & materials. - Monitor CA/PA in all areas to ensure a culture of CI is maintained.
- Monitor and control the inputs of subcontractors in the areas such as welding, ensure that repair registers are up to date and accurate.
- Review and input to subcontractor`s documentation by inserting hold and witness points, monitor and control incoming goods for compliance to requirements.
- Review submitted documentation for accuracy to the standard for compliance to the client`s requirements.
- Ensure non-compliant suppliers are dealt with timeously.
- Review codes and standards and apply them across site activities.
- Carry out training of younger staff to improve experience levels.
- Maintain by audit and limit the risk of poor suppliers getting onto site.
- Ensure that points are not bypassed, and that all inputs to QCP are reviewed and adequate and approved.
- Detailed review of the contents of the QADP for acceptance.
- Proactive approach to obtain information regarding activity status in order to update project plans
- Inform project team members, clients and contractors of project status.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- Quality Control background with an ability to reach a minimum of N5.
- SAIW level 2 inspector certificate with 5 years` experience.
- Level 1 inspection / corrosion protection would be advantageous.
- Auditor/Lead auditor 9001.
- 5 years` related experience in QA/Welding environment.
- Knowledge of Codes, Standards and Welding Processes.
- Conventional Power Plant operation a plus.
- Experience in managing subcontractors and teams.
- Must be familiar with establishing of weld procedures.
- Must be familiar with NDT processes.
- NDT Level 1&2 would be advantageous.
COMPETENCIES

PURPOSE OF ROLE
- Preparation of Civil designs for new projects in the Power generation and Oil & Gas industries.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Design development of Roads, Storm water and Sewer reticulation systems;
- Design development of structures (concrete and/or steel);
- Provide necessary inputs to tenders/proposals by technical write ups, concept designs, cost estimations and ensuring all procedures and standards are adhered to and met,
- Mentoring of junior engineers in the design engineering department;

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university;
- Registered Professional Engineer/Technologist with ECSA;
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in relevant (roads, storm water, sewer reticulation) Design field; ideally with some Site experience;
- Experience in structural design (concrete and/or steel) is advantageous;
- Working experience with AUTOCAD, Civil Designer, Civil 3D, Prokon, Strand 7 and Structural design software;
- A good understanding in interpreting geotechnical investigation and EIA reports;

PURPOSE OF ROLE
- Produce quality technical outputs which satisfy all requirements (Clients, Codes and Standards) by adhering to internal engineering processes. The position is a senior technical role requiring leadership qualities.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

- Design, specification, and execution of electrical systems for industrial plants

- Design of DC plant and battery systems
- Design of renewable energy systems
- Design of protection systems
- Specification of Electrical Switchgear and Motor Protection Equipment

- Ensure design compliance with the South African Grid Code
- Managing the electrical interfaces with other disciplines

- Assisting with testing and commissioning of electrical systems

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- BSc (Eng) or B Eng degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer.
- Minimum 10 years relevant multi-disciplinary project design experience, especially in the Power Generation Industry
- Working knowledge of OHS Act and the Regulations
- Working knowledge of the Environmental Legislation
- Working knowledge of SANS & IEC codes, Safety Management Standards and ISO 9001
- Knowledge and experience with the South African Grid Code
COMPETENCIES
- Good communication and technical report writing skill.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- The use of ETAP or DigSilent would be very beneficial.
