    Clerk – Depot

    Minimum requirements: 

    • Grade 12 
    • 1-year relevant experience.

    Other Requirements:

    • Typing skills
    • Interpersonal skills 
    • Computer skills (MS Office, Internet and Outlook)
    • Administrative and organisational skill 
    • Telephone etiquette skills 
    • Customer service skills 
    • Time managementskills 
    • Communication skills in at least two of the three official Languages of the Western Cape (English, Afrikaans or Xhosa).

    Responsibilities/Duties: 

    • Performs specific entry level routine administrative tasks such as the updating of information on various software systems, data capturing, transcribing information, filing, dealing with routine enquiries,
    • checking documentation for completeness, recording and tracking of correspondence/complaints in order to provide general office support in the Roads, Transport & Stormwater department.

    Operator Supervisor Collections x3 - 3 positions

    Minimum requirements: 

    • Grade 10
    •  Code EC driving license with valid PrDP 
    • 3-year’s relevant experience of which
    • 2-years must be in a supervisory role.

    • Well-developed interpersonal, negotiation and leadership skills

    • Receiving instructions and/ or communicating from the immediate superior to establish details of tasks (vehicle, tools, materials and personnel) 
    • Completes internal procedural documentation (e.g. log sheet etc.) and related forms (vehicle checklist) 
    • Required to observe safety procedures and regulations during the operation of vehicles.

    Supervisor – Driver - 3 positions

    Minimum Requirements:

    •  Grade10 
    • 2-years relevant experience 
    • Valid Code C1 drivers license.

    Other Requirements:

    • The ability to work under pressure, self-discipline, sound interpersonal relations, punctual and sound health 
    • Must be physically fit and healthy with sober habits 
    • Be able to work in all weather conditions 
    • Must be able to work after hours and overtime 
    • Must be able to operate on their own and in ateam Must be able to read and write in at least 2 of the 3 Western Cape official languages (English, Afrikaans, Xhosa).

    Responsibilities/Duties: 

    • Transport the maintenance team and equipment to and from locations. 
    • Supervise the team. 
    • Interacting with the public if required. 
    • Ensure that the planned work schedule is carried out in a productive way to meet the expected standards. 
    • To ensure a productive, motivated and contented workgroup.
    • May be required to operate the grass cutting tractor. 
    • To ensure that the equipment provided to carry out
    • tasks, is functional and the necessary care taken of it being Municipal assets. Ensure safe work procedures in
    • terms of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

    Lifesavers - 4 positions

    Minimum Requirements: 

    • Grade 12 
    • The incumbents must meet the requirements as stipulated by Lifesaving of South Africa’s Certificate 
    • A valid lifeguard certificate.

    Other Requirements: 

    • Physically fit, sober and drug free. All shortlisted applicants will be required to undergo a compulsory fitness test. 
    • Proficiency in two of the three official languages of the Western Cape (Xhosa, English of Afrikaans).

    Responsibilities/Duties: 

    • Perform lifeguard duties to ensure the safety of patrons and to provide a clean and safe facility. 
    • Ensuring own safety and that of others while participating in aquatic rescues. Applying the correct/prescribed lifesaving and first aid procedures. 
    • Communicating and educating the general public about drowning preventions. 
    • Increase participation in sport and recreation by facilitating swimming pool programmes. 
    • Monitoring and controlling the discipline and behaviour of patrons at the swimming pool facility. Identifying, preventing and removing hazards and threats to swimming pool users.
