    Merchandise and Commercial Analyst

    Purpose 

    • The Merchandise & Commercial Analyst is responsible for providing advanced analytical, planning, and commercial support across the merchandise value chain. The role ensures that the right products arrive at the right time, in the right quantities, and at commercially viable margins.
    • It combines merchandise planning, data analytics, and commercial deal support (indent and non-stock) to drive profitable business outcomes and operational efficiency.

    Roles and Responsibility 

    Merchandise Planning & Analysis

    • Analyse sales, stock, margin, ageing, and performance trends to inform decision-making and category plans
    • Build and maintain forecasting models, replenishment logic, and inventory recommendations
    • Track sell-through, stock turn, promotional performance, and intake alignment to plan
    • Support the end-to-end merchandise cycle from product ordering to warehouse delivery

    Commercial & Indent Deal Support 

    • Prepare, cost, and structure indent and non-stock quotations for Sales
    • Evaluate margin, pricing, and profitability implications for special deals and customer projects
    • Provide commercial scenarios (cost, landed cost, GM%, selling price) to support deal closure
    • Validate commercial viability and ensure alignment to timelines and supply chain capability

    Reporting & Data Management

    • Produce accurate, timely reports (Excel, BI tools) for trade, stock, risk/opportunity, and margin performance
    • Maintain large datasets with a high degree of accuracy and analytical interpretation
    • Present insights clearly to stakeholders across Merchandising, Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain

    Cross-Functional Collaboration 

    • Partner with Merchandising/Buying on range performance, forecasting, and intake schedules
    • Work closely with Sales on special deals, pricing rationale, and commercial approvals
    • Engage Supply Chain to manage lead times, delivery dates, and stock availability
    • Liaise with Finance on margin, pricing, and cost accuracy

    Minimum Requirements

    • NQF 7 - Finance/ Economics/ Retail Management/ Supply Chain / Logistics
    • 3+ years Data Analytics Experience 
    • 5+ years Solid understanding of retail/merchandise math's (margin, mark-up, sell-through, turn, pricing).
    • 5+ years merchandise planning cycles, procurement timelines, and demand forecasting.

    Junior Internal Auditor

    Job Purpose

    • The purpose of the Junior Internal Auditor is to support the Internal Auditor in delivering independent and objective assurance on the effectiveness of the organisation’s risk management, internal control, and governance processes. This is achieved through conducting comprehensive audits and evaluations of financial and operational activities to identify potential risks, control weaknesses, and areas of non-compliance.

    Key Responsibilities
    Implementation of Audit Plan

    • Assist in executing audits in line with the approved annual/internal audit plan.
    • Ensure audits are completed within agreed timelines and scope.

    Audit Planning & Execution

    • Compile statements of work, system descriptions, risk assessments, and audit programmes.
    • Prepare compliant working papers aligned to audit standards.
    • Address review notes and maintain updated audit documentation.

    Internal Audit Reporting & Feedback

    • Assist in preparing high-quality internal audit reports, including:
    • Control/standard/criteria
    • Detailed findings and ratings
    • Root cause analysis
    • Recommendations
    • Management action plans
    • Communicate findings effectively to process owners.

    Stakeholder Engagement

    • Engage with stakeholders to understand operational risks and strategic goals.
    • Communicate processes and audit findings clearly and professionally.

    Follow-Up Audits

    • Conduct follow-up audits to verify the implementation of corrective actions.
    • Track outstanding findings and support continuous improvement initiatives.

    Cross-Functional & Strategic Projects

    • Provide audit oversight in projects involving Procurement, Finance, and other departments.
    • Identify control gaps, inefficiencies, and automation opportunities.
    • Deliver audit-focused reports on project outcomes.

    Ad-Hoc Investigations

    • Conduct internal investigations into reported concerns or misconduct.
    • Prepare detailed investigation reports and collaborate with Legal, HR, and Compliance.
    • Ensure investigations are objective, confidential, and aligned with company policy.

    Time Management

    • Timely submission of deliverables on quality output and which requires minimal review.
    • Proactively communicate progress, challenges, and resource needs to audit management to avoid delays and ensure alignment with expectations.

    Innovation & Value Addition

    • Identify cost-savings and process-improvement opportunities.
    • Incorporate data analytics into audit engagements where applicable.
    • Advisory Engagements: Participation in non-assurance activities such as system implementations, policy reviews, or governance frameworks

    Minimum Requirements
    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Internal Audit, or a related field (Essential)

    Experience

    • 1–4 years’ experience as a Junior Internal Auditor (Essential)
    • 1–4 years’ experience in the retail & wholesale industry (Essential)

    Knowledge

    • Advanced knowledge of Risk Management & Assessment
    • Advanced knowledge of Auditing & Accounting Principles
    • Advanced understanding of Internal Controls
    • Intermediate knowledge of Fraud Risk Assessment, Ethics & Compliance, Corporate Governance
    • Strong report writing and communication capability
    • Intermediate Cross - Functional Collaboration.

    Facilities Assistant

    The Purpose

    • The purpose of the Facilities Assistant is to collect and deliver products or items in a safe and timely manner according to a schedule or instructions; and conduct handman activities within the HO Complex.

    Perform scheduled maintenance tasks

    • Manage the maintenance of structures, buildings, walkways, outside spaces such as parking lots, drainage systems etc.
    • Basic maintenance on items that require frequent attention such as replacing globes, painting etc.
    • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
    • Undertake light installation or carpentry (e.g. fitting shelves, door locks, windows etc)
    • Ensure all tools and equipment being used are in a safe workable condition and report timeous replacement needs

    Perform unscheduled maintenance tasks

    • Repair unscheduled minor plumbing, electrical and safety (fire sprinkler) systems

    Conduct facilities audits

    • Detect and report the need for major maintenance/repairs of non-production items.
    • Conduct performance assessments of company appliances, such as microwave ovens, coffee machines etc and make recommendations for maintenance/repairs.

    Driving 

    • Collect and deliver items, ensuring all is verified according to documentation and instructions.
    • In case of discrepancies, escalate to the Outbound Dispatch Supervisor
    • Complete the driver checklist before loading the vehicle and submit to the Warehouse Clerk; and verify the product to be collected before acceptance
    • Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle and report any discrepancies to the Outbound Dispatch Supervisor
    • Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record

    Job Requirements

    • NQF 4 Matric ( Essential)
    • NQF 5 Maintenance Management ( Desirable)
    • Driver's License Code 10 with PDP ( Essential)

    Facilities Coordinator

    Job Description
    Compile Planned Maintenance Database

    • Establish and maintain database of all fixed installations. e.g., fire equipment monitoring

    Schedule and issue planned Maintenance Instructions

    • Schedule preventative maintenance (Aircon, Fire vents and HVAR. Etc)
    • Issue planned maintenance instructions
    • Coordinate and manage building and equipment maintenance schedules
    • Communicate daily with supply vendors and update supplier database regularly
    • Responsible for responding to urgent and or adhoc maintenance calls, queries and or requests.

    Facility Monitoring

    • Responsible for managing facility handyman and ensuring there are tools and equipment required.
    • Facility incidents recording, response and monitoring.
    • Issuing and deactivation access cards using PRP System
    • PR and PO loading onto D365 System
    • Issue permit to work to contractors
    • Monthly Compliance
    • Daily monitoring and inspection of the premises.
    • Compile monthly reports on schedule compliance/failures
    • Third Party Management
    • Responsible for managing the external/ third party facilities suppliers and onsite contractors to ensure that service is provided aligned to the service level agreement (SLA) with Barron. (e.g., cleaners, fire, pest control and canteen etc.)
    • Monitoring and reviewing service rendered by facilities suppliers and on-site contractors
