- We're looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to help reimagine how software moves from commit to production in an AI-first world. Our focus is extending our Internal Developer Platform to support AI-generated software, removing bottlenecks that slow engineers down, and building the guardrails, automation and governance needed to safely accelerate delivery at scale. You'll be building platform capabilities that influence the day-to-day experience of 1,000+ engineers, shaping how software is built, tested, secured and released across the organisation.
- Working across GitHub, Kubernetes, AWS, EKS, Terraform, GitOps and CI/CD, you'll help challenge traditional assumptions about software delivery and engineer the next generation of developer workflows. Many of today's delivery models were designed for a world where humans authored most of the code.
- This role is for someone who enjoys building more than maintaining. Someone who can take an idea from concept to POC to production. Someone who sees friction, questions why it exists, and then automates it away.
About our team
- We operate within a broader platform engineering function responsible for developer experience, Kubernetes and platform support. This role sits in the team focused on our internal developer platform, the tooling engineers use to provision infrastructure, build pipelines and deploy into our cloud environment. Our platform is used by multiple engineering teams across the business and is central to how we deliver software at scale. The team currently includes engineers across multiple seniority levels, and we are adding another senior engineer to strengthen our technical depth.
What you'll do
- We will rely on you to design and implement infrastructure using code, enabling consistent, repeatable and scalable environments across our cloud platform.
- We will expect you to build and optimise cloud-native deployment pipelines that support high-frequency, low-risk releases.
- We will look to you to enhance our internal developer platform, improving how engineers provision infrastructure and deploy services.
- We will count on you to troubleshoot complex platform and performance issues across distributed systems and lead root-cause investigations.
- We will expect you to contribute to architectural decisions across microservices, event-driven systems and cloud-native patterns.
- We will rely on you to mentor other engineers and raise the engineering standard across the team.
Why this role is different
- We build platforms for engineers, not end-users. That means every decision is grounded in performance, reliability and usability at scale.
We give you the opportunity to:
- Influence platform architecture across cloud, containers and automation.
- Build tools that are used across engineering teams, not just a single product.
- Work on complex distributed systems with real production scale.
- Introduce new capabilities, including practical AI-driven enhancements to the developer experience.
- Contribute as a senior technical contributor without needing formal line management.
What we're looking for
- We are looking for deep experience in platform engineering, site reliability or DevOps engineering.
- We expect at least five years of hands-on experience working in cloud environments.
- We require strong experience building infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation or similar.
- We are looking for solid experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, for example Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
- We expect strong hands-on experience with containers and orchestration, particularly Kubernetes.
- We are looking for experience designing and operating cloud-native systems, including microservices and event-driven architectures.
- We require strong scripting or programming capability, for example Python, Go, Bash or PowerShell.
- We value experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, supported by relevant certifications.
- We expect a strong understanding of networking, security, APIs, databases and distributed systems.
- We are looking for engineers who can clearly explain their architecture decisions and the systems they've built.
- We value experience leading or influencing engineering practices and mentoring others.

The right candidate will help lead that journey, not just support the current environment.
What you'll do
Functional delivery
- Lead end-to-end SAP MM delivery across procurement, inventory management and broader supply chain processes.
- Act as the primary point of accountability for MM-related delivery outcomes across procurement, inventory, supply chain and integration domains.

- Drive solution design across integrated business processes, ensuring alignment between SAP, third-party systems and operational supply chain requirements.
- Design and recommend standard, future-fit SAP solutions aligned with business objectives and industry best practice.
- Translate business requirements into scalable SAP functional solutions and outcomes.

- Upskill and coach team members, building capability and functional depth across the team.
- Coordinate and rally the team around shared priorities and delivery goals.
- Guide the team towards SAP S/4HANA and Fiori-ready solutions.
- Research and recommend new initiatives and platform capabilities, including AI-enabled functionality.
As the team grows, you'll shift towards :
- Solution guidance and architectural input.
- Relationship management with business and technology stakeholders.
- Identifying and embedding best practices across the SAP landscape.
What the team is looking for

- Deep, hands-on SAP MM (Materials Management) expertise across procurement and inventory management.
- Strong end-to-end understanding of source-to-pay processes, including vendor sourcing and procurement.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes and how procurement, inventory management, logistics and goods movement connect across the broader business process.
- Experience working across integrated business processes and understanding how SAP MM connects with related systems and functional areas.
- Awareness of SAP S/4HANA, the Fiori landscape and future platform direction.
Advantageous
- Exposure to AI-enabled SAP capabilities and future platform development.
Leadership and working style
The team is lean, collaborative and operates in a changing environment. The right candidate will be:
- People-centric: genuinely invested in developing and upskilling team members.
- Agile and resilient: comfortable operating amid uncertainty and shifting priorities.
- Collaborative: able to work across functional experts, technical teams and solution architects.
- Patient: willing to guide and mentor rather than simply direct.
- A connector: someone who rallies the team and builds alignment rather than working in isolation.
Minimum Experience
- A relevant degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain, Business or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years or more relevant SAP MM experience.
- Proven experience leading or mentoring a team of SAP functional specialists.
- Experience in a large-scale SAP environment, with banking, retail or FMCG experience advantageous.
