    Senior Project Manager

    • Lycopodium is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Senior Project Manager to join our dynamic, growing team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the overall project delivery in accordance with Company, Client and industry requirements.

    The tasks you'll perform

    • Manage the timeliness and accuracy of the project controls (reporting, costs, schedule, trends, change management) in terms of both direct and indirect costs in accordance with Company, Client and project requirements.
    • Develop and maintain the various project specific procedures, work practices, plans, systems and protocols to enable the project team to work efficiently and maintain a consistent approach and high standard of work.
    • Drive the projects under your control to achieve contractual KPI’s and exceed Client expectation.
    • Ensure commercial compliance to Company, Client, and statutory requirements.
    • Implement and coordinate auditing of policies, procedures, standards and plans applicable to the Group in order to improve the quality and professionalism of services.
    • Ensure safety, environmental, community and industrial relations and quality procedures and plans adhered to on all sites.
    • Drive business development activities through engaging and maintaining Client relationships and key prospect development.
    • Work in conjunction with a range of internal and external stakeholders to meet project design criteria and deliverables.
    • Contribute to engineers in trainings professional development by providing consistent mentoring and identify avenues of development.
    • Suggest methods to improve operational efficiency.
    • Develop and contribute to the delivery of improvement initiatives which support business priorities for continuous improvement.
    • Proactively support other team members as required to ensure Project deliverables are met.
    • Undertake regular site visits to review progress, methods, cost controls, safety, quality, environmental, risks, changes and claims, etc.
    • Travel on an ad-hoc basis to suit the needs of the business and its operations.

    The expertise you'll bring

    • University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil, Electrical or equivalent.
    • A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in mineral processing and/or related industries.
    • A minimum of 5years of experience in Project Management, preferably leading large-scale mining projects.
    • Experience in progressively responsible positions within mining or heavy industrial capacity.
    • End to end project delivery experience, in both greenfield and brownfield projects.
    • A strong track record of delivering projects on time, within scope, and under budget.
    • Understanding of open-pit or underground mining methods.
    • Proficiency in using or reviewing tools like Primavera P6 or MS Project.
    • Strong Financial acumen: CAPEC/OPEX planning, cost tracking, cash flow forecasting.
    • Coordinate long lead items, construction timelines, and resource management.
    • Familiarity with mineral processing, exploration and geotechnical engineering.
    • Experience managing full project life cycles; feasibility, FEED, detailed engineering design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
    • Knowledge of EPC/EPCM contract and delivery methods.
    • Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

    Senior Accountant

    • Lycopodium Africa is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing team in Cape Town. The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, project accounting, and compliance within the organisation. And will work closely with project Managers, Procurement and Finance teams to ensure accurate financial management across complex, multi-phase engineering projects. 

    The tasks you’ll perform

    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS/GAAP.
    • Ensure accurate general ledger (GL) management, reconciliations, and financial close processes.
    • Oversee tax compliance (VAT, corporate tax, withholding tax, etc.) and liaise with auditors.
    • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal controls, and company policies.
    • Monitor and report on work-in-progress (WIP), revenue recognition, and project profitability.
    • Track and manage project costs, accruals, and variances, ensuring alignment with budgets.
    • Collaborate with project managers to provide financial insights and control project expenditures.
    • Support contract management by ensuring billing, claims, and cost recovery processes are accurate.
    • Assist in managing cash flow forecasting, working capital, and bank reconciliations.
    • Oversee multi-currency transactions and foreign exchange risk in international projects.
    • Work with the finance team to optimize cash management strategies.
    • Ensure timely processing of vendor invoices, payments, and collections.
    • Monitor client billing cycles, payment terms, and credit risk to ensure a healthy cash flow.
    • Resolve any discrepancies in supplier or client accounts in collaboration with relevant teams.
    • Ensure the accuracy of financial data in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
    • Support automation and process improvements for financial reporting and efficiency.
    • Assist in system upgrades, financial integrations, and digital transformation projects.

    The expertise you’ll bring

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or a related field (CA(SA), CIMA or equivalent preferred).
    • 5+ years of Accounting experience, preferably in an EPCM, Construction, or Engineering environment.
    • Strong understanding of project accounting, WIP reporting, and cost management.
    • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel Skills.
    • Experience with multi-currency transactions, tax regulations, and international accounting standards.

    Lead Mechanical Engineer

    The tasks you'll perform

    • Conduct timely reviews of Project mechanical drawings to achieve full compliance with design intent.
    • Approve, guide and review engineering designs, including calculations and designs development.
    • Interpret engineering drawings, documents, specifications and scopes.
    • Identify scope variations and prepare relevant documentation accordingly.
    • Liaise with and provide professional support to drafting team in the preparation of drawing deliverables.
    • Provide assistance to monitor the design and drafting progress.

    • Maximise the productivity and efficiency of the discipline by planning, scheduling and the appropriate allocation of resources to ensure deliverables are met.

    Design Manager

    • Reporting to the Group Manager of Engineering the Design Manager will be a key stakeholder in leading and managing multi discipline engineering and design activities, for projects and studies, in consultation with all project stakeholders to ensure that standards of technical compliance, quality, cost, safety, sustainability and environmental performance are observed and that time schedules are met.

    The tasks you'll perform

    • Interdisciplinary co-ordination of technical aspects of the project engineering, design and drafting.

    The expertise you'll bring

    • Tertiary level qualification in Engineering (Mechanical or equivalent)
    • 15+ years’ experience in mineral processing or related industries. Experience in gold will be considered favourably.
    • Professional Registration (ECSA or equivalent).

    Data Engineer

    • Reporting to the Technology Development Manager, the Data Engineer will be part of the Digital Delivery Project.

    The tasks you’ll perform                                                            

    • Design, develop and maintain data structures.
    • Develop and maintain data pipelines to collect, transform, store and share / integrate data across platforms.
    • Set up and administer database-centred engineering software applications.
    • Configure and manage data storage solutions including object orientated SQL databases.
    • Develop advanced digital engineering workflows.
    • Be a user of the database-centred engineering software generating intelligent engineering drawings and capturing the related engineering information into the database.
    • Stay up to date with latest developments in the digital engineering and applications industry and specifical as it pertains to mineral processing facilities.

     The expertise you’ll bring

    • Tertiary level qualification in Chemical / Mechatronic / Mechanical / Electric and Electronic Engineering.
    • 3+ years’ post graduate experience
    • Specialised training and/or proven experience in data architecture and data integration using APL’s and software programming.
    • Proficiency and/or proven experience with object-orientated SQL databases and 2D CAD software(Revit/Autodesk Plant 3D/ Bentley OpenPlant Modeller/ Siemens COMOS/ DesSoft/ MicroStation / AutoCAD / SolidWorks). 
    • South African Citizen or Permanent Resident.
