    Sales Representative

    Job Advert Summary    

    • Macsteel Fluid Control is seeking a skilled and experienced External Sales Representative to join the team in the Northern Cape region.
    • The successful candidate will be responsible for growing existing business, identifying new sales opportunities, developing customer relationships, and providing technical and commercial support to customers. The role requires a self-motivated individual with strong sales ability, sound product knowledge, and a proven track record of achieving sales and profitability targets.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Grade 12 / NQF Level 4–5 (Essential)
    • Relevant sales, business, or technical qualification (Advantageous).
    • Minimum 5 years' sales experience within the Fluid Control industry.
    • In-depth knowledge of Fluid Control products and applications.
    • In-depth knowledge of the Northern Cape market.
    • Preferably based in Kathu, Kuruman, or surrounding areas.
    • Ability to engage technically and commercially at all levels.
    • Proficient in SAP, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
    • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a results-driven environment.
    • Team player with strong problem-solving, planning, and decision making abilities.
    • Valid Code B driver's licence.

    Duties and Responsibilities    
    Sales & Business Development

    • Service and grow the existing customer base within the Northern Cape region.
    • Identify and develop new business opportunities to increase sales, profitability and market share.
    • Achieve agreed sales and gross profit targets.
    • Implement sales plans and customer engagement strategies to support business objectives.
    • Promote Fluid Control products and solutions to existing and potential customers.

    Customer & Stakeholder Management

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and key decision-makers.
    • Conduct regular customer visits in accordance with approved call plans.
    • Provide commercial and technical support to customers.
    • Resolve customer concerns and maintain high levels of customer service.

    Technical & Commercial Support

    • Provide technical advice on Fluid Control products and applications.
    • Prepare accurate costing and quotation calculations.
    • Liaise with management regarding pricing, contracts, and special pricing requirements.

    Market Intelligence & Reporting

    • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer requirements.
    • Identify opportunities for growth and provide market feedback to management.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Minimum NQF Level 4 - 5 Grade 12+ / Higher certificate essential
    • Product knowledge of Macsteel products and the ability to learn new products will be advantageous
    • Prepared to multi task and work overtime
    • Ability to communicate in English
    • Must be physically capable to assist with the loading and off -loading of stock
    • Must be physically fit to climb onto trailers to hook and unhook product

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Picking and packing of stock/ material into correct locations.
    • Assisting the crane driver in slinging material and packing material for delivery
    • Loading and off-loading of vehicles.
    • Assist in stock take
    • Comply with work rules standards and methods
    • Assist with ad hoc functions as required
    • Be prepared to work outside of normal hours when necessary.
    • Sweeping and Housekeeping.
    • Always understanding and conformance of the company policies and procedures.
    • Perform any reasonable and lawful task / instruction.
    • Ensure correct label is put on the correct bundles to ensure material identification.
    • Ensure correct PPE is worn to prevent injury.

    Job Advert Summary    

    • We are seeking a skilled and experienced Internal Sales professional to join our Tube & Pipe Department. In this role, you will be responsible for managing customer enquiries, preparing quotations, processing orders, and supporting our field sales team to drive revenue growth. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the full sales cycle — from costing and estimation through to order fulfilment and customer relationship management — while ensuring alignment with company policies, targets, and compliance standards.
    • The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to build lasting relationships with customers and suppliers. Knowledge of Tube & Pipe materials and mining products would be advantageous, though full training will be provided. You will work closely with our technical and logistics teams to ensure seamless order fulfilment and exceptional customer service.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Minimum Grade 12
    • NQF Level 4 - 5 Higher certificate in Sales essential
    • 5 years’ experience in an internal sales environment is essential

    • Experience and product knowledge in the Tube & Pipe industry will be added advantage
    • Intermediate proficient levels in Excel, Word, Outlook
    • Intermediate proficient levels in SAP would be an advantage

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Coordinate effectively with Purchasing, QA/QC, Operations, Credit Control, and Logistics.
    • Identify and negotiate with service providers within company guidelines.
    • Accurately calculate and capture all relevant sales orders and quotations.
    • Communicate new leads to external sales representatives and sales management.
    • Liaise with distribution to ensure on-time delivery.
    • Keep customers well informed on order status and implement corrective action when required.
    • Issue credit and debit notes per procedure in a timely manner.
    • Attend to customer needs promptly and communicate service failures to management.
    • Identify possible new clients.
