    2026 School Tech Coordinator (Boksburg)

    • Nova Pioneer is looking for a savvy Tech Coordinator. We are seeking a dynamic individual who is great at organizing in-house IT processes, receiving and scheduling IT support requests, maintaining the technology equipment, testing and reconditioning equipment for redeployment, tracking tech supplies and services, and all things tech-related. 

    ABOUT THE ROLE 

    • This position reports to the School Leader/Dean of Operations responsible for supporting the School Leadership Team, managing the IT helpdesk at the school campus and enforcing its existing policy, and other functional teams at the school in the planning, development and implementation of all technology-related projects related to academic systems, residential life, sports activities, and school-based events.

    Your responsibilities include:

    Tech Asset Management

    • Shall be fully responsible and accountable for the management of student Chromebooks or laptops where applicable. This includes the day to day management of the student Chromebooks / laptops check-in and check-out process, the provision of a detailed monthly report showing the device cont for (Chromebooks, projectors, chargers, speakers, earsets count, device condition, HDMI cables) for the purpose of general management, launch planning, insurance or other
    • Maintaining an accurate inventory record of school equipment. Managing and tracking the IT/Tech assets while ensuring safe storage. Keeping an up-to-date inventory of the IT/Tech assets.
    • Ensure all teachers sign the asset management document and ensure safe storage of the paperwork
    • Collect classroom tech assets from class teachers at the end of every term.
    • To support the central Global Tech team with the management of the teacher’s Chromebooks / Laptops.

    Team Professional Development

    • Conduct,  facilitate and /or support teammate Tech or role onboarding and offboarding in collaboration with Talent and the central Global Academic support or Global Tech Team
    • Conduct teacher Professional Development (PD) on the use and care of tech assets termly.
    • Attending teacher PD on a regular basis. 
    • Creating and running professional development experiences for teammates on tech. 
    • Run tech capacity-building training sessions for different functions at the school (academic and non-academic) at least termly to enhance their job productivity. 

    Tech Maintenance and Troubleshooting

    • Be the first point of contact to users (students, parents, and teammates) when troubleshooting Tech related issues via the school's helpdesk and where necessary escalate the more technical issues that require in-depth problem solving to the central Global Tech Team.
    • Resolving and responding to helpdesk tickets within laid out IT SLA timelines
    • Troubleshooting the classroom projectors, speakers, and HDMI failures. Ensuring any such issues are resolved proactively and constantly keep the affected stakeholders updated on the issues and progress made in resolving them. 

    Student Information System Support

    • Support the administration of the school’s Student Information System (SIS /EdAdmin) with respect to software updates, troubleshooting, User passwords reset, etc
    • Support on SASAMs submissions: - Updating the related software (SASAMS, Valistractor, etc), training & supporting the Admin Assistants and the school teams on SASAMs submissions. 
    • Support the school with Termly reports submissions (correct report formats, accompanying letters, school leader’s signatures, etc).
    • To support the school teams in logging in external support tickets
    • Support the school leadership team or the central Global Academic Support team to conduct Academic year roll-over & Term roll-over responsibilities

    Printing Management

    • Supporting teammates with accessing printing services by ensuring connectivity to the printer is always available e.g. Onboard and offboard teammates on the print management software, manage printing access e.g. issuance of printing codes, user password resets, etc.
    • Support and collaborate with the central Global Tech Team with the onsite diagnosis of printing service outages and participate as guided in the resolution of such issues.
    • Receive technicians from contract service providers as needed to carry out maintenance or repair tasks and communicate to the relevant stakeholders any progress updates
    • Liaise/support the central Global Tech on printing toner procurement, stock management, and replacements
    • Liaise/support the central Global Tech on managing the usage & maintenance of the printers

     Internet Network Management

    • Troubleshooting all internet issues. Ensuring any such issues are resolved proactively and constantly keep the affected stakeholders updated on the issues and progress made in resolving them. 
    • Receive technicians from contract service providers as needed to carry out maintenance or repair tasks and communicate out to the relevant stakeholders progress updates
    • Conduct an ongoing school network security posture monitoring and reporting any occurring incidences.
    • Troubleshooting and regular inspection of printers, routers, switches, CCTV cameras, access, points, and computer hardware and software components.

    Supporting Academics and Learning Programs 

    • Ensure that the appropriate set-up of hardware e.g. student laptops, headsets, and software necessary in running successful online testing sessions or any other school curriculum lesson/activity that requires the use of student hardware and software as guided by the school leadership team ie. NWEA MAP tests
    • Supporting teachers in running heavy computer/technology aided lessons.
    • Support the school leadership team or the central Global Academic Support team to generate student report cards pdfs test versions and share them with the concerned teachers to enable them to resolve any gaps before they are published to families at the end of each term. 
    • Support academic teams with Tech needs for school events - parent, student, and teacher events (Microphone, PA system, etc.)\

    Any other duties assigned by your manager

    • From time to time, execute any other duties as assigned by your manager

    ABOUT YOU

    Required qualifications:

    • A complete diploma/degree in an IT-related field
    • You have a minimum of 2 years of technical experience (experience in IT support is an added advantage)
    • You have proficient knowledge of computer networks and can troubleshoot network-related issues
    • You are able to demonstrate competence and comfort with PC/Linux/Mac-based computer systems
    • You have strong organizational skills and can handle many projects at the same time with minimal supervision
    • You are always putting yourself in other people's shoes - your natural empathy, curiosity, and people reading skills help you understand your team and students/customer better than most people around you

    Dean of Academics, Secondary School (Ormonde)

    The key functions of the Dean of Academics can be categorised as follows:

    • Help the Dean of Students with managing discipline and conducting disciplinary enquiries e.g. drug-testing

    Cambridge examinations officer (All year round as we do 2 sitings per year) 

    • Ensure implementation of the Cambridge curriculum across all subjects
    • Ensure exam entries are completed on time 
    • Building the exam and invigilation timetable 
    • Preparing exam venues and candidate cards 
    • Communicating all necessary exam information to candidates and parents 
    • Liaising with the science team to ensure practical exams run smoothly
    • Training invigilators according to Cambridge standards
    • Running Cambridge exams strictly according to Cambridge regulations
    • Liaising with any Cambridge inspectors that may arrive to conduct observations
    • Processing any concession candidates by the required deadline
    • Chief invigilator
    • Setting up a student results portal and communicating results logins to candidates 
    • Ensure smooth receiving, storing and distributing Cambridge results certificates to students
    • Receiving, analysing and distributing results to teachers
    • Registering staff for Cambridge training and following up on completion thereof

    Private candidates (All year round as we do 2 sittings per year) 

    • Updating website at beginning of the year- send requests to marketing
    • Fielding information requests on private candidate exams (Customer service!)
    • Monitoring entry form sheet in order to track and register private candidates
    • Liaising with candidates in the system to provide provisional entry statements, and following up on and making corrections.
    • Collecting and storing candidate agreement forms
    • Liaising on payment, tracking and following up on payment before stipulated deadlines
    • Communicating finalised statements of entry, exam TT and procedures to candidates once full payment is received.
    • Arranging pre-exam campus visits for candidates, and conducting campus visits

    Student academic support

    • Provide subject-choice counselling 
    • Support students in arranging academic support with teachers
    • Address concerns raised by students around classroom instruction
    • Help students analyse results and their implications for graduation pathways

    • Liaise with the school counsellor on support measures for students with specific academic challenges

    Parent liaison/ marketing

    • Drafting and sending out school-wide communications to parents on important academic issues

    • Scheduling and conducting results analysis meetings with parents after the release of Cambridge results, and providing advice on graduation pathways and subject-choices

    ABOUT YOU

    • Experience supervising others 
    • Knowledge of curriculum, instructional methods/strategies, and curriculum differentiation
    • Knowledge of child development, learning, and behaviour
    • Knowledge of effective assessment methods, data management and interpretation 
    • You have a minimum Bachelor’s Degree in education and are SACE certified
    • You have at least 4 years of experience in a rigorous, high-expectations school setting, including at least one instructional leadership role (e.g., department head, grade lead, teacher coach, deputy position etc.)

    Substitute Afrikaans Teacher (Ormonde Primary)

    About the Role

    • We are looking for an amazing Substitute teacher to teach Afrikaans intermediate grades. Second language teachers lead instruction of their language across multiple grades and classrooms and are responsible for driving a rigorous, enquiry-based learning environment the Nova Pioneer way. Resident teachers are supported by Deans of Instruction who partner with them in their growth journey - observing lessons, providing feedback and coaching.
