Job Purpose

• To perform microbiological testing and analysis of food, water, and environmental samples in accordance with AssureCloud’s quality and safety standards. The role ensures accurate, timely results and supports continuous improvement of laboratory efficiency and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct both simple and complex microbiological tests independently.
• Verify and interpret test results against known standards and reference data.
• Ensure laboratory efficiency through proactive task management and process improvement.
• Adhere to departmental turnaround times (TATs) and escalate delays to the supervisor.
• Clean and disinfect laboratory equipment according to hygiene protocols.
• Maintain laboratory instruments and notify management of calibration or servicing needs.
• Perform all analyses in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Quality Assurance policies.
• Implement corrective actions for quality and TAT deviations within area of responsibility.
• Maintain acceptable proficiency scores for all assigned testing procedures.

• Receive, review, and register incoming samples and inspection documentation on the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Perform basic administrative duties and support testing processes as required.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned within the scope of work.

Job Requirements
Qualifications

• National Diploma or Degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, or Food Technology.
• Additional certifications in ISO 17025, GLP, or SANAS-accredited microbiology courses (advantageous).

Experience

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a microbiology laboratory, preferably in food safety testing.
• Experience with LIMS and sample registration processes (advantageous).
• Proven track record of working within ISO 17025 accredited environments.

Skills & Knowledge

• Strong understanding of microbiological testing methods and standards.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment maintenance and calibration procedures.
• Knowledge of OHS and Quality Assurance protocols.
• Proficiency in data interpretation and reporting.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Effective communication and time management skills.

Job Purpose

• To drive revenue growth by identifying, developing, and closing sales opportunities for food safety certification services. The Sales Executive will build strong relationships with clients across the food value chain, promoting AssureCloud’s certification portfolio and ensuring customer satisfaction. 

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities in food manufacturing, processing, retail, and distribution sectors.
• Promote certification services including ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, HACCP, GMP, and related audits.
• Develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet or exceed targets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
• Provide consultative support on compliance and certification pathways.

Job Requirements
Qualifications: 

• Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Environmental Health, Biotechnology, or Food Technology. 

Experience: 

• B2B sales experience, preferably in food safety, compliance, or certification services.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

Knowledge:

• Food Safety Standards & Regulations: Deep understanding of ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, HACCP, GMP, and relevant South African and international food safety legislation
• Certification Processes: Familiarity with audit cycles, certification bodies, accreditation requirements, and compliance documentation.
• Industry Sectors: Insight into food manufacturing, processing, retail, hospitality, and agriculture sectors.
• Sales & CRM Tools: Proficiency in using CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite.
