    Mine Engineer

    Purpose of Job

    • To validate correct design methodology and parameters in excavation design and to support overall mine design, to ascertain coal mines stability of Sasol Group mining in line with mine health and safety act.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Provides expert advice on Operational and Long Term balance regarding safety, cost and production.
    • No failures of excavations.
    • Create systems (e.g. ground management standard, equipment retrieval standard, mine stability and layout, etc.) which embed safe practices as a natural way of doing things.
    • Training and enabling functional specialists as well as operating personnel to understand rock mass risks and lead indicators.
    • Distil complicated concepts into simple, visible, practical training material.
    • Ensures Long Term stability of critical capital structures and environmentally sensitive areas by the selection of appropriate excavation and pillar design parameters in consideration of the local geological and geotechnical environment.
    • Identify, develop and introduce best practices regarding mine design/pillar design, mining methods, support design and monitoring methods, tools and equipment.

    Manager HR Secunda Operations

    Purpose of Job

    Artisan Gr 2 Mechanical Fitter

    Purpose of Job

    • The Artisan Mechanical Fitter forms part of a centralized maintenance team providing a maintenance service on the highspeed rotating equipment for the various BU throughout Sasolburg Operations. The maintenance service varies from running maintenance (filter,etc.) up to full integrity inspections / Full Overhaul of the equipment.

    Key Accountabilities
    Operational, Financial and Technical Results:

    • Maintenance on Positive displacement compressors (Recip & Screw).
    • Work in accordance with quality plans and work procedures.
    • Fault finding on rotating equipment, as well as auxiliary systems (eg, drip feeders,stuffing box / valve leakage detection
    • Be conversant with the technical parameters governing reciprocating compressor maintenance regarding, crank case overhaul and alignment, web deflection, conrod, crosshead installation  / line outs. Wear part replacement / inspections, mechanical seal installation, bearing clearances, gaskets, alignment and protection devices.
    • Complete overhaul of screw compressors.
    • Have an understanding on the functioning of a refrigeration plant / process to facilitate compressor faultfinding.

    Purpose of Job

    • To oversee the engineering maintenance processes within the appointed area of responsibility to enable various mining teams to reach production targets within the principles of QCDSM

    Key Accountabilities

    Purpose of Job

    • Correct and safe loading, securing and offloading of Refurbishment and non-refurbishment materials at Warehouses and TEM workshop, Business Units and Suppliers (when required).
