    HR manager

We're a startup, what can we offer?

So when you help us grow from 20 to 100 in the next three years you can justify a salary that blows the market out of the water - for now, we are still cash-strapped so let's talk about goal-based salary objectives.

In the meantime we do have some great benefits:

    • The opportunities - what we will trust you with and what you will get to do will far exceed what you can do elsewhere. You will massively accelerate your career trajectory, and the offers people get after they put Specno on their Linkedin are actually just flattering.
    • Awesome office culture with free breakfast, lunch, amazing coffee, comfortable space, WFH opportunities, flexi hours.
    • Relocation opportunities - we are going global, with the first of many international offices opening this month (Amsterdam baby)
    • High-performance collaborative team. It is rare when the whole team feels like they get along, and get along well. Since we all have that performance drive mindset, we are naturally a little competitive, but there is something special that happens when you put a bunch of super competent people together and they are working towards a common goal. Damn do things happen fast.
    • Twice a year company getaway. Many optional socials and we encourage partners so we can meet the people special in your life.
    • There are more perks but you can read about them in our company profile doc.

Realistically I am looking for someone with -+ 5 years experience, who is prepared to give the next 3-5 years towards their career and is hungry for the chance to massively grow themselves and their company.

    Open position internship

What does Specno do and what would you learn?

Specno has become one of South Africa’s leading software development and design agencies, and we have become the market leader in taking startups from idea to market. In short we accelerate ideas and build ventures.

This is an open position - meaning we will look at what skills you possess, what your interests are, we will understand where you can add the most value, and craft an experience tailored to you.

For the open role, I am highly considering people with experience in marketing or IT recruitment, but you can convince me what else we might need.

    Who should apply:

    • The internship is a work-hard-play-hard program. The work will be challenging and you will have to learn a lot, but we put a lot of effort and capital into making sure it is a really rewarding and fun program.
    • That being said we have a very competitive program and can only afford to take a select few candidates. Only the best will be offered part-time or full time employment by our team, so we can’t guarantee employment, but as mentioned this internship will completely equip you for the industry and make you highly employable.
    • We are looking for candidates who are hungry to grow, to make an impact on the industry, who want to break the status quo on what traditional career growth looks like and who strives for excellence. We want candidates who take ownership of their work but who work well in teams.
    • Ultimately we want people who add to what we are building. This is a startup - you have the power to create the future you want to work in.

    The details:

    • The program will be a 4 week program from 21 June to 18 July.
    • The program will end with a 3 day company getaway - which is one of the highlights of the year for many people.
    • It is an unpaid internship, but at least R4,000 will be given to each participant to help cover expenses.
    • You will need your own device, but arrangement can be made.

We are willing to turn the internship into something longer for better pay, should it make sense.

What the application process looks like:

Send in CV with some of your design work. > Interview with design team > Skill assessment (Can be used in your portfolio) > Interview/discussion with the founders.
