    Technical learning Academy Practitioner (PA 1426)

    Job Description and Responsibilities

    • Plan learning events and programs by identifying needs, developing a set of course outcomes and piloting the program in order to ensure that learning is relevant to customer requirements.
    • Develop training materials through identifying the need, developing outcomes, designing the framework, selecting the resources required, developing drafts, piloting it and evaluating performance in order to ensure that training material meets customer requirements and national standards set.
    • Facilitate learning using a variety of learning methodologies and blended learning solutions, preparing the learners, creating strategies, clarifying the goal / outcomes of the learning activity, implementing this and evaluating the learning progress, as well as maintaining effective administrative systems in order to ensure that learning is effective and maintained.
    • Design integrated assessments for a learning program considering the purpose, accessing information and resources for development of assessment, designing activities, integrating the assessment into learning programs and evaluating it for further improvements in order to accurately assess that the learning meets the learners and Organisation needs.
    • Guide and support Learners by identifying learner’s needs, analyzing problems, providing advice and support to learners, keeping records of interactions, evaluating performance I order to ensure that the learner obtains the necessary skills and qualifications.
    • Evaluate a course / learning program by designing and implementing evaluation strategies, comparing results, generating findings and reflecting on the effectiveness of the evaluation strategies to ensure that the program offered meet the needs of the customer and learner.
    • Design, market, negotiate and deliver relevant training and development programs to external and internal VWSA customers by developing customized training programs or learnerships.  Based on needs analysis contributing to the profitability and success of VWLA business.

    Education and Experience

    • National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
    • Accreditation as a Merseta trainer or assessor would be advantageous.
    • 3 – 5 years of relevant technical/ training and development experience in the automotive, auto supplier or engineering industry.

    VW Supply Chain Co-Ordinator - PA 1492

    Job Description and Responsibilities

    • Maintain detailed, systematic aspects in respect of vehicle ordering, distribution and inventory management.
    • Actively participate in the monthly sales planning process as it pertains to supply channel management.
    • Monitor and analyse dealer orders; generate allocation reports to identify shortfalls, imbalances and capacity constraints.
    • Resolve supply/ demand imbalances with Regional Sales Managers and Special Markets.
    • Coordinate between VI Sales Region and Regional Sales Managers/ Special Markets to ensure order compliance (e.g., supply allocations, ordering shortfalls).
    • Identify problems/ delays with vehicle movement through ports and recommend solutions.
    • Liaise with Product Marketing on Product changes, error resolution.
    • Locate vehicles for vehicle exchanges (Fleet deals, Rental changes, VIP sales, etc) as required.
    • Special vehicle ordering and tracking (New vehicle orders/ New dealer openings).
    • Track damaged vehicles in transit to SA and keep internal customers and dealers up to date on status.
    • Co-ordinate and capture unit orders into NADIN.
    • Ensure that dealer orders are scheduled according to the required specification in the correct priority.
    • Analyse regional inventory, ordering, delivery and allocation status
    • Provide inventory reports at all levels (dealer, port, production) by customer channel.
    • Ensure that Rental and Government orders are processed and scheduled to meet delivery requirements.
    • Ensuring the pro-active maintaining of the NADIN ordering system.
    • Responsible for issuing a timeous, accurate Aged Stock Report.
    • Responsible for the preparation of the Weekly Status Call report.
    • Proactively planning of the Order bank to ensure the pipeline meets the Sales departmental KPIs.
    • Responsible for the upload of the weekly Model mix planning for Polo Vivo and management of required stipulations.

    Education and Experience

    • A formal 3-year National diploma or Bachelor’s degree from a recognised institution in Commerce/ Business Science/ Logistics.

    Have a minimum of 3 years motor industry experience, ideally within the following fields:

    • Logistics Planning
    • Volume Planning
    • Dealer Sales
    • Franchise Operations

    Pilot Hall Engineer - PA 1486

    Job Description and Responsibilities

    • Evaluating and commenting on the impact of Engineering Changes in AVON/Keymono.
    • Represent Production in FFK, FMC, variant reduction and Group Buildability Forums where product changes, buildability issues and Produktklausur ideas are discussed and decided.
    • Evaluating PDM changes from WOB and engaging with the Production Process and Industrial Engineering departments regarding changes required.
    • Supporting the Planning department in facility design and FMEA’s to ensure that the installed solution conforms with the PDM specification.
    • Identifying opportunities where both series and pre-series product designs can be improved with the focus on “Design for Manufacture”, Complexity reduction, Variant reduction and Process Security.
    • Providing future product and process information to Production stakeholders, through consultation with WOB planning departments.
    • Representing Production at the TPB readings of new models or derivatives
    • Designing and 3D printing of prototype gauges/jigs for Analysis and to aid production with fitment of parts.
    • Managing of 3D printing materials and budget.

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree, B-Tech or National Diploma in any Engineering Discipline or in Operations/Production Management
    • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant engineering experience in the automotive industry.

    Group Parts Industrial Engineer - PA 1483

    Job Description and Responsibilities

    • Time and Motion Studies, Re-engineering Project Management
    • Performing distribution center time and motion studies.
    • Applying time and motion study results to distribution centre operations.
    • Co ordinating re-engineering process improvements and implementations.
    • Investigating process-related problems and recommending and implementing improvements to ensure smooth operation of all processes.
    •  Plan and prepare space planning for new parts.
    • Planning and preparing for new parts.
    • Analyzing incoming stock and assigning suitable storage locations
    • Ensuring sufficient storage space for all different types of parts. 
    • Control Master Data set-up
    • Regulating the parts flow by controlling the master data set-up by means of timeously identifying and accurately capturing all new projects and non- project parts on the ET2000 system according to storage type, storage section, put away strategy, bin type and picking area.
    • Assessment of the warehouse stock profile
    • Assessing the warehouse stock profile at set intervals.
    • Identifying space constraints and relocate stock to suitable storage.
    • Identifying parts which are due for scrapping or obsolescence.
    • System Administration 
    • Monitor the ET 2000 system to ensure fully operational to avoid downtime and ensure errors are corrected timeously.
    • Support and monitor the ERP – EWM interfaces and monitor the auto-job functions.
    • Liaise with Information Systems department as to the Distribution Centers’ requirements on current and future system enhancements to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted workflow.
    • Bin maintenance
    • Maintaining bin labels and overall accuracy of bin locations.
    • Coordinating periodic audits of racks and bins, and redesign and modify to utilize the warehouse space to its optimum.
    • Setting up a reporting process whereby the operators are able to report problem bins, inappropriate master data.
    • Implementing corrective actions and sustainable solutions to all challenges identified.
    • Demarcation maintenance
    • Maintaining all manner of demarcation, i.e. aisle numbers, zone descriptions, safety warnings, zoned areas. 
    • Performing regular inspections and audits, resulting from reports by operators. 
    • General Machinery & ISO Regulations
    • Ensure the General Machinery Regulations 2(1) maintenance & support.
    • Support Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental and Energy policies and regulations (ISO 5001 & 14001) 

    Education and Experience

    • A recognised 3-year National diploma/ Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering/ Commerce.
    • Have minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Industrial Engineer.
    • Previous Automotive Industry Parts and Accessories experience
    • Have experience in the automotive Industry, distribution centre or logistics experience is advantageous.
