    Fitter/Millwright - East London

    Position Summary

    In this role you will be responsible to install, maintain and improve both electrical and mechanical equipment. Ensure efficient, safe operation of machinery by setting and adjusting devices to within allowed tolerances.

    A day in the life of a Millwright:

    • Complete the necessary administrative tasks for AMM, SHE, CDM and MDWT.
    • Interact with production, Suppliers and contracting staff.
    • Coaching and mentoring of technical operators and apprentices.
    • Carry out the planned maintenance required on plant.
    • Incumbent must be pro-active and prevent breakdowns on his/her patrols and shows initiative to continuously improve equipment performance – condition-based maintenance.
    • In both electrical and mechanical disciplines, install, service, repair and maintain existing and new equipment.
    • Attend to electrical and mechanical faults/breakdowns within the factory.
    • Basic troubleshooting on PLC’s and SCADA systems.
    • Programming and faultfinding on VSD’’s and soft starters.
    • Programming and faultfinding on defined instrumentation and calibration.
    • Root cause analysis of repetitive faults; implement corrective measures.
    • Steer ‘Continuous Improvement’ teams to improve equipment reliability and performance.
    • Maintain high standard of work.
    • Ensure machine availability for production targets to be met.
    • Undertakes to work shift, standby and overtime as per company requirements.
    • Electrical panels must be closed and always locked and kept in a neat and clean condition complete with a set of as built wiring diagrams.
    • Always Adhering to Safe Working Permit procedures (e.g., confined space, working at height, hot work, LOTO etc.).
    • Ensure any dangerous conditions to be made safe immediately.
    • Ensure that during all work performed, food safety is never compromised.
    • Correct errors on electrical and mechanical drawings, update accordingly.
    • Alignment of goals to achieve NCE objectives.

    What will make you successful?

    • Matric, N6 or Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering and a Trade test
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience in both Electrical and Mechanical disciplines.
    • Basic working knowledge of PLC’s.   
    • Preferably have a Certificate of Registration as an ‘Installation Electrician’.
    • Served Apprenticeship and qualified with a Millwright Trade Test Certificate (Electro - Mechanician).

    Project Engineer - Bryanston

    A day in the life of a Senior Project Engineer:

    • Define the project scope, success criteria, and  milestone deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Build the investment project charter that includes the resources plan including a multifunctional  project team required to accomplish the project manufacturing excellence targets.  Ensure available standards and best practices, as well as understanding of current category loss tree are revised as part of the  project planning , to ensure that  project design credit (AIP) will be efficiently utilized.
    • Execute the basic and detailed design of the project based on Nestlé Corporate Business Principles, Nestlé standards, local regulations, the defined User Requirements Specifications and the TPM characteristics of a unit operation (safety, quality, affordability, maintainability, operability and reliability). Ensure by design the workers, and operators, safety during both the construction and the ongoing operation of the plant.
    • Support the design team to accomplish the basic and detailed design, whilst mobilising all the required resources and liaising with stakeholders. Lead VSED activity and coordinate the preparation of supply chain concept. Support the Development of an Operation Start-up Plan to ensure a Vertical Start-up can be achieved. Ensure the required design reviews are effective and collaborative to gain final alignment on the basic design.
    • Ensure that the engineering side of the project is implemented (e.g. buildings, equipment erections, piping, utilities, etc.) in accordance with the defined timing, cost and quality, the URS and the characteristics of a unit operation. And that all of the elements of the project (including technical people training, as needed) in performed in such a way that safety is always guaranteed on the whole project site and that a vertical start-up is assured. Select and qualify contractors and coordinate their activities. Ensure that Nestlé standards are applied.
    • Support the start-up manager and their team to ensure a smooth transition to operations after the qualification and verification of the installation.
    • Contribute to and support the preparation and distributing the engineering project documentation, including the engineering part of the project final report and provide feedback to the Maintenance Prevention System. Keep all the required communication channels open.
    • Be the project team leader, meaning integrating, motivating, feed backing, coaching, developing, managing and evaluating team members and being their support and liaison with the steering committee and all the project's stakeholders. Define the project change management plans. Determine the need for change requests, and either approve or reject changes as authorised or submit them to the SC.  Ensure that the highest principles of ethical conduct on behalf of the community, consumer, company and the engineering profession are adhered to. Keep all stakeholders informed and trigger extraordinary steering committee meetings as needed. Keep all the required communication channels open. Ensure that the procedures for protecting Nestlé's technological and proprietary knowhow are in place and actively being implemented.

    Procurement Specialist - Bryanston

    Position Summary

    In this role you will be responsible for understanding, communicating and helping to implement sourcing strategies on a local level (at the market) including new or changing items/services, P2P channel management and of new suppliers. The Procurement Support Specialist gathers data and business requirements and conveys local requirements to transmit them to Local Business Partners and Local Sourcing teams and Above Market Category teams for setting actions/strategies accordingly.  He/she will work to liaise with the NiM stakeholders for assigned scope focused on functions and plant, production and Co-Man sites in the Market concerned.

    A day in the life of a Procurement Specialist:

    • Provide the Local Business Partner with information and requirements gathered through the daily business and report to him/her on a regular basis.
    • Proactively understand the business needs and requirements within the assigned scope for functional and plant level requirements in the NiM serviced.
    • Carry out as directed any data retrieval, analysis and representation required, mapping how ordering (P2P) and channels work within the locations serviced, and identify improvements to be targeted.
    • Interface with local suppliers as required to help with any supplier development, or supplier switch out activities as directed by category and sourcing teams.
    • Work with HOP and Business partners to integrate sourcing plans and outcomes in local budgets and price planning processes as required.

    What will make you successful

    Position Summary

    In this role you will be responsible to The Manufacturing Excellence Analyst supports Factory Team to achieve World-Class Manufacturing Excellence by leveraging NCE practices to improve business results in a continuous and sustainable manner and ultimately the factory to become a Lean Enterprise.
