Purpose

• Provide an effective and efficient service to clients by obtaining the correct medical requirements and facilitating the completion of such requirements related to new and existing business.

Experience and qualifications

• Minimum Qualification : Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)
• Experience: 2-3 years relevant medical training or previous medical underwriting/admin experience
• Must meet Fit & Proper requirements for long term insurance category B1 for advise (preferable)

Responsibilities

• Ensure underwriting - medical queries and tasks allocated are resolved timely and effectively by providing first time resolution on enquiries
• Ensure Service Level Agreements are met and exceeded by engaging in effective communication and delivery of service according to SLA's standards that will ensure client retention and satisfaction
• Ensure accurate completion of documentation as per departmental guidelines in order to meet client needs and effectively utilise IT systems to ensure accuracy of documentation
• Ensure adherence to organisational best practice and legislative requirements. Adhere to policies and procedures and take corrective action where necessary
• Ensure all risks to the company are mitigated, identified and escalated where necessary
• Manage personal development to increase own skills and competencies
• Maintain a broad product knowledge in order to effectively and accurately respond to customer queries
