Responsibilities:

•  Design and implement new embedded firmware applications.
•  Develop low-level interfaces and maintain the existing code base.
•  Collaborate on the design and development of innovative products.
•  Document low-level concepts and provide cross-functional training.
•  Consult with colleagues to assess interfaces between hardware and embedded solutions.
•  Contribute to technical discussions, code reviews, and process development.
•  Investigate and resolve reported defects promptly, ensuring timely solutions.
•  Communicate effectively, providing regular updates and addressing team needs.

Desired Skills & Experience:

•  1-3 years of hands-on code development experience.
•  Proficiency in embedded C, C++, or Python.
•  Familiarity with hardware-level drivers (GPIO, UART, I2C, SPI).
•  Strong knowledge of source code management and configuration.
•  Understanding of test frameworks and automated build systems.
•  Ability to work independently and complete design tasks with minimal supervision.
•  Basic understanding of the software development life cycle, including design, architecture, and implementation.
•  Analytical, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Tasks involved in the fulfilment of the objective:

Stock Control

• Ensuring that the goods are received into stores from Durban Head office and form 3rd party suppliers.
• Pack stock into correct stock shelves
• Discrepancies to be reported to supervisor.
• Weekly stock cycle counts as instructed by Durban Head office.
• Full monthly and yearly stock take

Client Orders

• Receive and confirm client orders via email and telephone.
• Process all orders on Oracle with correct pricing.
• Ensure all COD payments have been received prior to collection.
• Advise client of the statues of their orders
• Serial number scanned into the database.
• Prepare orders for collection.
• Invoice stock
• Receive client returns for credit.
• Receive repairs from clients.

General 

• Admin and Filing.
• Assist the Accounts department with Debtors collections.
• Assist with answering switchboard calls.

Qualifications

• Matriculation.
• Relevant higher education qualification.
• Documentation experience.
• Language Skills
• Must be able to effectively communicate in the English language, verbally and in writing.
• Computer Skills
• Must have some experience in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel.

Work Environment

• Employee works primarily in a factory environment and is exposed to moderate noise levels.

Work Requirements

• Must be legally eligible to work in South Africa.
• Be able to work sitting or standing for long periods of time. You must be able to bend, scoop, reach, and use hand and fingers to perform this function.
