    Customs Entry Clerk - Durban

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Receive and process documents for shipments
    • Request arrival notice and release charges from the shipping line
    • Track shipment ETA complete customs clearance submission
    • Process GRN’s and forward payments
    • Complete cargo dues order
    • Arrange third-party releases – port health, plant inspector, Statevet, etc
    • Complete transport and FCL instructions
    • Compile release documents and arrange submission to shipping line/ depot
    • Plan transport and delivery of shipments
    • Facilitate customs exam procedure with shipping line and depot
    • Obtain release and plan transport with shipping line and depot
    • Process forex payment instructions for DT site
    • Complete monthly SARS deferment reconciliation
    • Forward payment request of monthly SARS deferment
    • Complete monthly reconciliation of customs VAT
    • Coordinate/ monitor clearances of import shipments
    • Ensure rebate items and import permits have been declared for the specific tariff heading
    • Ensure Customs Procure Codes and EUR1 / SADC certificates have been utilized at the time of clearance
    • Process customs bills of entries

    Minimum Requirements:

    Experience:                                                                   

    • 3 years experience in import and export customs clearance/ logistics
    • SAP knowledge will be an added advantage
    • MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)

    Qualifications:

    • Matric with Maths is essential
    • Relevant tertiary qualification in logistics imports and exports

    Additional Requirements:

    • Knowledge of proactive risk profiling
    • Knowledge of the Customs and Excise Act, Rules, Regulations, and SARS policies
