As a Senior Accountant: Statutory Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in our financial management and tax compliance operations. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of our financial processes across the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of a highly collaborative team, work with leading professionals, and contribute to the growth and success of our organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Allocate deliverables and provide training to team members.
• Perform performance management within the team, emphasizing quality and deadline adherence.
• Review invoices from the Oracle accounting system for MEA entities, ensuring compliance.
• Review various tax schedules and data packs for monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual compliance reporting.
• Collaborate with tax consultants for review and validation of tax schedules.
• Interact with in-country tax teams on tax data pack reviews.
• Manage feedback from in-country tax support teams in the MEA region.
• Forward tax schedules from Client to MEA Tax Management team for review and approval.
• Handle queries and feedback from MEA Tax Management.
• Support MEA Tax Management in the execution of tax compliance in the MEA region.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiencies (CPI) in MEA tax compliance deliverables.
• Review Trial Balances for all MEA entities to validate entries and completeness.
• Verify Service Fee calculations for entities to align with Marketing and Liaison Agreements.
• Project revenue and expense projections for various tax calculations.
• Collaborate with MEA Controllership team for validation of trial balances and audits.
• Support tax audits by responding to queries from Tax Authorities in the MEA region.
• Compile, review, and post journals in the accounting system.
• Prepare and review control accounts.
• Monitor expense and payments booking for correct allocations.
• Collaborate with sister teams such as AP, Payments, and Accounting for accurate transaction capturing.
• Manage client expectations and liaise with management on assignment status and opportunities.
• Liaise with Client office Administrators in the MEA region to handle supplier queries related to taxes.
• Handle internal and external audit information requests on MEA entities regarding indirect taxes.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Degree in Accounting or Tax with a professional qualification (e.g., CA, CIMA, CFA, ACCA, CIS).
• Extensive knowledge of tax compliance, financial management, and accounting principles.
• International business perspective and experience.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Leadership and team collaboration abilities.
• Advanced MS Excel.
