    Process Controller

    Purpose of Role

    The Process Controller carries out the accountability and responsibility for the safe achievement of metallurgical targets in the crusher and plant sections.  The incumbent will lead and control all activities of staff in the crusher and plant sections.  The position often takes on the role of coach and instructor to explain how the work should be performed

    Role Context

    • Adherence to the shift production plan
    • Coordinates and advise services to operate the equipment in the plant
    • Assist in execution of process maintenance
    • Process control within defined recipe
    • Problem solving skills
    • Ensure adherence to all safety (i.e. create awareness of hazards and behaviour)
    • Coach and instruct to explain how the work should be performed, focusing on improving, changing  and optimizing practices
    • Implement corrective action in cases of non compliance to objectives and safety standards
    • Liaise with the Weighbridge and/or Stock Controller in order to ensure the dispatch of products timeously
    • Record and analyse production stoppages and equipment breakdowns in order to take corrective action to improve section availability
    • Primary focus is on effective and safe operation of the section to optimize efficiencies and recoveries and maintain quality of produced products
    • Effective operation of the section process to agreed process parameters to achieve hourly and shift targets
    • Creating high performing team and conducive employee relations climate in the team
    • Administration of necessary systems (Job cards, risk assessments, permits)
    • Coaching and mentoring
    • Conduct planned task observations
    • Comply to safety rules, policies and procedures
    • Labour management
    • Implement and maintain a planned inspection schedule for critical equipment in the section in order to ensure preventative action is taken before equipment failure occurs
    • Work closely with the maintenance department in order to ensure a world class maintenance culture is established and maintained on the plant
    • Communicate failures/breakdowns and deviations in process or equipment to team members (Process and/or Engineering)
    • Contact and coordinate support services before and/or during breakdowns in order to limit downtime while ensuring adherence to safety standards
    • Communicate detail of failures/breakdowns in process or equipment to senior and standby personnel (after hours).
    • Lead pre-shift safety and work discussions

    Requirements

    Qualifications:

    • Grade 12/ NQF Level 4
    • Mineral Processing Skills Programs NQF 4-5 

    Job specific experience:

    • Mineral Processing Skills Programs NQF 4-5 
    • Computer literate
    • Two years’ experience as an Operator in a metallurgical Process Operation
    • One year’ experience as a Control Room Operator in a metallurgical Process Operation
    • One year’ experience as a Supervisor in a metallurgical Process Operation

    Drilling Foreman

    Purpose of Role

    The role is responsible for ensuring management and execution of drilling activities to ensure a well-fragmented blasted rock. The drill Foreman is responsible for making sure that the hole is drilled to the planned depth to ensure well-fragmented blasted rocks The drilling Foreman shall ensure that he/she creates a conducive environment for employees to achieve excellent performance through continuous coaching and training.

    Role Context

    • Reports to the Drilling Supt
    • Managing drilling section so that planned drilled metres are achieved safely and cost effectively.
    • Ensure that drilling equipment are operated effectively and safely
    • To make sure that holes are drilled to the required depth as per the drill plan
    • Submit drilling data to the drilling manager for reports
    • Discuss production performance and line-up with the shift during shift change
    • Maintain high quality drilling standards to curb costs in order to achieve annual operating and capital budgets
    • Conform to MHSA guidelines by continuously working according to the stipulated mine procedures
    • Coordinate with technical department in order to reduce ore contamination
    • Provide direct control of drilling operations which include resource and reserves, ore blending and equipment utilisation.
    • Develop and execute shift strategy in order to achieve the daily planned target.
    • Lead and supervise the drilling team
    • Risk Assessment is done before drilling takes place
    • The block to be drilled is prepared well and signed off as per the SOP
    • The block to be drilled is barricaded off
    • Holes are drilled to the correct depth by measuring each drilled hole
    • The drill plan from mine planning is available in all drills
    • Ensure that drilling equipment are operated effectively and safely
    • Tags are collected after charging and cleaned for re-use
    • Other holes are not damaged during drill tramming
    • All drilling equipment and personnel are removed for blast as per the baster’s recommendation
    • Implement rock engineering recommendations in drilling to maintain safety
    • Support blasting section to achieve good fragmentation by drilling accurately
    • Create and maintain good and healthy relationship with employees and contractors.
    • Prepare and summarize progress reports for management

    Requirements

    Qualifications:

    • Grade 12/ NQF Level 4
    • Diploma or certificate in Mining courses will be an advantage.
    • Open cast blasting ticket
    • Supervisory certificate

    Job specific experience:

    • Minimum of 3 years mining experience in open cast mining in drilling section
    • Should have excellent command in English both verbally and written.

    Junior Network Artisan

    Purpose of Role

    The role is responsible to installation and maintenance of the physical network infrastructure, such as installation of network points for computer and phone devices.

    Role Context

    • Prompt response to request from supervisors,
    • Neat and tidy installation work on cables,
    • Adherence to IT policies and Procedures,
    • Adherence to Safety, Health and Environment policies and Procedures,
    • User satisfaction.

    Requirements

    Qualifications:

    • Grade 12

    Job specific experience:

    • 0 – 1 year’s relevant experience
    • Basic Knowledge on usage of Hand tools and Electrical hand power tools.
    • Basic Knowledge and usage of PVC pipes and cable basket wire ways for housing network cables.
