    Community Healthcare Worker X12 (Onsite)

    Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to : 

    • Coordinate and participate in community events, workshops, and health fairs to conduct health screenings, distribute educational materials, and raise awareness about key health issues.
    • Provide individual and group education sessions on topics such as nutrition, preventive care, chronic disease management, mental health, and healthy lifestyles.
    • Serve as a cultural and linguistic bridge between healthcare providers and community members, ensuring accessibility and cultural competence in healthcare services.
    • Conduct tracing of loss to follow-up TB patients, provide support to re-engage them in care, assist with TB screening activities, and support patient adherence to treatment regimens.
    • Conduct tracing of TB contacts, identify eligible patients for TB preventive therapy (TPT), and facilitate their access to preventive treatment.
    • Assist community members in navigating the healthcare system, including enrolling in health insurance programs, scheduling medical appointments, and accessing social services.
    • Connect individuals and families with appropriate social services, financial assistance programs, and mental health resources as needed.
    • Collect and maintain accurate records of TB services provided, outreach activities, and education sessions conducted, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
    • Prepare regular reports detailing outreach activities and their impact on community health indicators. Present findings to the Community Health Coordinator.
    • Participate in regular team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
    • Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals, community organisations, and stakeholders to strengthen the support network for community health initiatives.
    • Ensure THINK vision, mission and values are reflected in all job outcomes.

    Requirements:

    • Matric Certificate.
    • Ability to speak local languages.
    • Previous experience working with NGOs and familiarity with TB-related activities are desirable.
    • Proven track record of community engagement, mobilisation, and development within NGO settings or social programs.
    • Familiarity with the local community and prior exposure to the health sector are advantageous.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with diverse individuals and groups, including community members, healthcare providers, and stakeholders.
    • Sensitivity to cultural differences and a commitment to providing culturally competent care and services.

    Provincial TB Manager (Hybrid) - Makhado

    Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to : 

    • Drive technical leadership, ensuring Provincial and District TB program teams are consistently aligned with key objectives.
    • Regularly liaise with the Technical Lead, reporting on major interventions.
    • Stay updated with the latest Department of Health (DOH) guidelines and WHO practices, ensuring our programs reflect global standards.
    • Offer technical assistance to the Provincial DOH on crucial activities including TB Mortality Audits, Cohort Reviews, and more.
    • Pioneer strategies like the FAST approach to enhance TB and drug-resistance TB case detection.
    • Champion the decentralisation of drug-resistant TB treatment, mentoring Programme TB Managers on DR-TB management.
    • Support the DOH Health Management teams and DOH Provincial TB Directorates in implementing the TB strategy.
    • Support Provincial-level TB meetings, offering valuable insights.
    • Engage with both the public and private sector to amplify our mission.
    • Represent THINK at key conferences, becoming the face of our initiatives.
    • Lead, mentor, and nurture the team of Programme Provincial and District TB Technical Managers.
    • Spearhead monthly meetings, discussing pivotal activities and progress.
    • Oversee the recruitment and training of new program staff, ensuring a harmonious blend of talent.
    • Assist in the creation and refinement of tools, SOPs, and materials to enhance program implementation and effectiveness.
    • Remain committed to the THINK vision, embodying our values in all outcomes.
    • Compile, prepare, and present comprehensive reports on program progress, challenges, and forecasts.
    • Regularly review and analyze program metrics to ensure targets are met, suggesting corrective actions if needed.
    • Ensure all documentation is in line with organizational and international standards.
    • Prepare clear and impactful presentations for both internal and external stakeholders.
    • Disseminate key findings, updates, and best practices through presentations at workshops, conferences, and meetings
    • Ensure THINK vision, mission and values are reflected in all job outcomes.

    Requirements:

    • Clinician (MBChB or Nursing qualification) registered with the HPCSA.
    • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Clinician.
    • Two (2) years of experience in TB programming.
    • Previous experience in DR-TB management.
    • a DR-TB Management Certificate will be an advantage.
    • Experience in various facets of TB programming, such as active case finding, new drugs/therapies, clinical patient support, and TB preventative therapies.
    • Prior experience with donor-funded projects.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Proven problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
