    Governance & Compliance Officer

    Purpose of Role:

    • Bring a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes across the Africa & Middle East region.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Including but not limited to:

    • Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.  Adhere to all Safety Health Environment (SHE) and housekeeping requirements at the branch and customer sites at all times.  Adhere to Duty of Care Policy at all times. Keep contract packs up to date.
    • Assist with the review of compliance to local laws, regulations and that of the Weir Group.
    • Review and confirm the effective and efficient performance of accounting activities that are in line with internal controls and compliance requirements.
    • Initiate and conduct internal audits / checks on request and assist the Regional Financial Director with compliance and self-testing across the region.

    Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

    • Qualified CA(SA) /CIMA / CIA with a minimum of 5 year’s experience auditing in Manufacturing or similar environment.
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Willing to travel
    • At least 5 years related experience in a similar function
    • Computer literacy (MS Office Suite) – excellent working knowledge of Excel
    • Planning and organizing skills
    • Good verbal and written communication
    • Computer literacy
    • Ability to work under pressure
    • Must be able to write routine reports and correspondence
    • Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety on concrete variable in situations where only limited standardization exist

    Manager: Branch - Rustenburg

    Purpose of Role:

    • Weir Branch Manager develops and manages sales, operations, and inventory control within the business unit for the purpose of achieving business targets and to grow the Weir business in the region.  The Branch Manager manages operations in order to achieve safety, continuous improvement, customer satisfaction and operating results in a facility dedicated to supporting the mining (phosphate, aggregate, gold) and construction markets.  

    Key Responsibilities: 

    • Leadership: Fosters an engaging work culture by encouraging innovation, teamwork, and personal commitment. Recruits, manages and is responsible for branch resources, e.g. staff, labour, stockholding, transport etc, and ensures they receive necessary training as certifications. 
    • Inventory Management: Ensure stock holding and accuracy is within range for effective customer, special sales activities and market analysis for all product lines. Supports remote inventories, working directly with and supporting Sales and Operations Planning (Supply Chain). 
    • Sales & Customer Service: Customer focused, responsible for managing and providing professional and efficient customer service for region. Play an active role in direct sales activities for acquiring new business through selling new products to diversify product offerings. Provide technical assistance and after sales service to clients. 
    • Financial Management: Responsible for driving and delivering key financial results, expanding core and complementary products and services; maximizing sales year over year while ensuring and maintaining appropriate profit margins. Maximize service labour and profitability growing services and brownfields. 
    • Market & Site Strategy: Develops and implements strategic business plans in support of business growth and develop and implement sales strategy and plan, supporting necessary forecasts. Rationalisation of products and promote new Technology for the territory increase in process engineering services offered to customers transforming the branch to a solution provider.

    Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:  

    • Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates that have the ability to perform the objectives above. 
    • Ten or more years of mining 10 years’ experience with Mechanical and/or Process equipment 
    • Proven management skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development. 
    • Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders and customers 
    • Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills 
    • Strong analytical skills and problem solving abilities and business acumen 
    • Commercially and financially aware with experience of managing budgets and contract management

    Service Technician - Kathu

    Purpose of Role:

    • The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in carrying out repairs and maintenance on Weir equipment on customer sites and in the Service Centre workshop.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.  Adhere to all Safety Health Environment (SHE) and housekeeping requirements at the branch and customer sites at all times.  Adhere to Duty of Care Policy at all times.  Keep contract packs up to date.
    • Service: Carry out maintenance, repairs, inspections and overhauling on Weir Minerals equipment on customer sites and in the service centre. Installation and commissioning of pumps and other Weir Minerals products.  Demonstrate a strong technical understanding, trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills.
    • Customer support: Provide a high-level of service repair work on service contracts.  Prepare and submit field service reports after completion.  Assist with training of mine personnel or Weir staff.  Offer new products and value adding solutions to contracts. 
    • Business growth: Increase Services revenue by identifying new opportunities on customer sites.
    • Reporting: Submit monthly reports on consumption of spares, pump performance history and equipment performance on customer sites.

    Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

    • Grade 12 or N3 Certificate or equivalent
    • Qualified: Fitter / Fitter & Turner / Millwright (Verified Section 13 / 26D qualification)
    • Valid driver’s licence
    • Computer literate – Microsoft Office suite
    • 2-4 years’ maintenance experience in minerals processing plants
    • Knowledge of the Mine, Health & Safety Act
    • You should be customer focused and take pride in the quality of work you deliver. You should be able communicate clearly at all levels, solve problems in a timely manner and have a strong technical understanding.
