    Senior Database Administrator

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Identify user needs to create and administer databases
    • Ensuring that the database operates efficiently and without error
    • Making and testing modifications to the database structure when needed
    • Maintaining the database and updating permissions
    • Merging old databases into new ones
    • Backing up and restoring data to prevent data loss
    • Assisting with migration of databases from local to cloud platforms.
    • Ensure that assigned project deliverables, milestones, audit findings and schedules are adhered to and accomplished in the agreed timelines.
    • Involved in designing technical specifications for new system implementations and system changes.
    • Ensuring that all technical documentation is regularly updated and new procedures are properly documented.
    • To maintain good working relations/partnerships with internal business stakeholders including the IT team, Business intelligence and Core banking teams.
    • Ensuring that communication channels are established with all internal and external stakeholders.

    Policies and Procedures:

    • Follow IT Policies and procedures.
    • Ensure all new implementations/changes are tested before Production implementation
    • Patch/security update as per agreed business OLA
    • Payment Systems Operations manual creation and upkeep.
    • Logging and resolving Helpdesk calls as per agreed business OLA.
    • System Performance monitoring and fine tuning.
    • Ensure change and release management procedures are followed.

    Job Requirements:

    • Diploma or Degree in IT, Computer Science
    •  At least 5 - 8 years advanced IT support experience in relational database management systems including Oracle databases preferably in a financial institution.

    Experience/Skills required:

    • Install, Setup, Configure and Support of the following solutions:
    • 5- 8 years Oracle Database 10g, 11g, 12c (Mandatory)
    • MSSQL Server 2012 to current
    • PLC / SQL Scripts, Stored-procs and Queries                   
    • Microsoft Windows operating systems
    • Linux or Unix operating system
    • Key Management /cryptography
    • ITIL processes and desire to follow processes with little formal control
    • Experience working with Azure, MySQL, MongoDB and cloud platforms is an advantage

    Card Specialist

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Achieve the Retail Banking Card Revenue Budget, proactively manage budget planning and tracking
    • Achieve the Card Customer Number target
    • Relationship and stakeholder management, measured as a qualitative survey of peer group, partner satisfaction and service levels.
    • Liquidity, measured as total liquidity levels (aggregated customer deposits) in total deposits vs. target / budget.
    • Actively manage the Card Product partners (including NI) to ensure that compliance, risk and audit concerns are resolved.

    People Management:

    • Management of business resources directly and indirectly involved in the operational management of Product activities.
    • Strong partnering skills in managing stakeholder outputs from peers / colleagues, customers and external stakeholders in support of the business units’ ambitions.

    Academic Knowledge:

    • Minimum of a 3-year tertiary education, ideally a commerce related degree.

    Work Experience:

    • Minimum of 10 years banking experience; preferably Card.
    • Minimum of 5 years banking experience at a management level in a combination of all or some of the following banking disciplines: business development, product design and development, payments and card products, banking projects, banking systems and value chain processes.

    Card Manager

    Key Responsibilities

    • Ensure the end-to-end conceptualization, delivery, and management of a compelling set of card products and capabilities to the market, in line with the Bank’s various segment strategies and value propositions.
    • Ensure the product value proposition meets client needs and is competitive in the marketplace
    • Provide expert support in the acquisition or development of new card programs in the Alliance Banking business.
    • Conduct market research to gain insight into client needs • Partner with Marketing and Channel teams to drive new card sales
    • Work with Finance/Risk to evaluate the performance of the card portfolio and identify opportunities
    • Monitor client feedback and drive best in class client experience

    Product Development and management

    • Introduce new card products with Access Bank and Alliance Banking
    • Card Product development and management measured as a quantitative and qualitative assessment of efforts to enhance existing, and introduce new, Card products in line with the Bank’s strategy, that proactively deliver new revenue opportunities and meet changing business requirements, etc.
    • This includes Business support, measured as a quantitative and qualitative review of new initiatives in support of business development and customer acquisition

    Card Scheme relationship management

    • Measured as a quantitative and qualitative review of how efficiently and effectively issues and queries are resolved, the general effectiveness of the Bank’s relationships with the card associations and favorable negotiation and achievement of support agreement targets and objectives.

    Regulatory and industry management

    • Measured as a quantitative assessment of the Bank’s management of and adherence to the industry payments landscape.
    • PASA and PCH representative

    Revenue Management, interchange, and bi-lateral management

    Measured as a quantitative and qualitative assessment of the revenues achieved through:

    • Card revenues vs budget bank-wide
    • Onboarding support for new card programs in direct support of Alliance Banking
    • Onboarding support for new card programs in direct support of the co-op partnership model
    • Favorable bi-laterals achieved in order to support the revenues of the Bank.
    • Operational efficiencies in ensuring revenue improvements (e.g., bin stock management)

    Academic Knowledge:

    • Minimum of a 3-year tertiary education, ideally a commerce related degree, or compensated for through related experience.
    • Work Experience:
    • Must have a minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience in card product management, development or enablement in a banking, payments, fintech or related environment.
    • Preferably work exposure to new card program implementations (debit, prepaid and / or credit)
