    Case Manager

    Job Summary:

    • To plan, coordinate and execute case management work at hospital level. The incumbent utilises clinical knowledge to minimise financial risk and ensure accurate billing through comprehensive accurate coding of patient care.

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

    • Nursing Diploma
    • Registered Nurse
    • ICD Code & CPT Coding knowledge
    • 3-5 years’ experience as a hospital case manager

    Minimum Job Requirements:

    • Liaise with Receptionist for authorizations.
    • Ensure compliance to case management procedures, standards and protocols.
    • Plan, coordinate and execute Clinical coding in accordance with relevant CHG standards and protocols.
    • Ensure accurate, appropriate and complete diagnostic and procedural coding of all patient records in the hospital.
    • Timeously and consistently communicate and follow up with Funders (Medical Aids, COID, Government, RAF, DOL, etc.)
    • Provide appropriate clinical information to Funders in order to update Length of Stay, Level of Care, formulary utilization, assistive devices / Prosthesis, diagnostic interventions, therapy intervention and procedural interventions and required change in the facility.
    • Consult daily with all relevant health care providers with regards to patient treatment
    • Ensure the maintenance of patients’ clinical status (subsequent interventions and treatments) in accordance to Funder requirements for the duration of hospitalization
    • Ensure the correct categorization and management of different patient accounts to facilitate reimbursement by Funders.
    • Ensure accurate and timeous finalization of cases to facilitate reimbursement by Funders.
    • Minimize financial risk by the effective management of patient hospitalization.
    • Follow the established and approved escalation processes in the event of a decline of payment by Funders.
    • Ensure to remain in the group and facility targets of 3 days for WIP (work in progress) and DNYB (discharged not yet billed).

    Head Of Department - Academy

    Minimum Qualification and Experience

    • Diploma in General Nursing
    • Diploma in Midwifery
    • Degree in Nursing Education and Administration
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Studying towards Master’s Degree
    • 3 years Managerial/Supervisory experience
    • 4 years teaching environment at any Nursing Institution

    Minimum Job Requirements:

    • Responsible for advancing the CHA Strategy and organizational goals by translating into day to day operational activities that support the vision of being a market leader in nursing and healthcare related education
    • Contribute towards the design of education related systems and related technologies to achieve standardization, streamlining and efficiencies of work and related processes
    • Contribute towards the development, implementation and evaluation Micro, Macro and Meso curriculum to meet the SANC and SAQA standards.
    • Create a dynamic and forward looking research environment for both staff and students whilst ensuring highest level of quality, integrity and ethics in all research undertaken
    • Compile relevant reports on all CHA activities, administration, academic learner progress, procedures, systems and processes and submit as required
    • Support improvement of Academy performance. including nursing education standards through the implementation and monitoring of Quality Assurance policies and procedures
    • Drive effective administration and ensure risk management and related activities are conducted in accordance with the relevant procedures, processes and legislation
    • Advocate education and learning within a multicultural and diverse healthcare environment through clear messaging, facilitation of programs and practical simulated demonstrations using English as the primary language for communication
    • Ensure and supervise smooth process of SANC examinations,and facilitation of annual graduations
    • Assist with the implementation of the marketing strategy for the Academy aligned to the Academy’s business plan and overall CHA marketing strategy
    • Participate in the marketing of the Academy activities through various communication media including developing and publishing the Academy Newsletter, Prospectus and Newspaper, facilitation of school and university visits, within nursing and consulting on existing clinical facilities

    Pharmacist

    Job Summary:

    • To dispense and issue drugs and stock in accordance with the scope of practice of a pharmacist as laid down in the statutory regulations of the relevant Acts. In addition, controlling and monitoring the storage of all medicines in Pharmacy and the hospital. ensuring that quality pharmaceutical services, financial objectives, legislative compliance, and people management requirements are achieved to the required standards.

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

    • Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree.
    • Registration with the South African Pharmacy Counsil (SAPC) as a pharmacist.
    • Computer proficiency- SAP and Unisolve.
    • 1 to 2 years’ experience in a retail pharmacy or a private hospital setting.

    Minimum Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Ensure safety of patients by providing advice on the appropriate selection, dosage and drug interaction, with due consideration to potential side effects and therapeutic effects of medication.
    • Record medication per legislative requirements
    • Validate the medical prescription and ensure the availability of funds (for medical aid patients)
    • Dispense medication according to Good Pharmacy Practice guidelines and advise patient on the use of generic medicine preparations
    • Record and monitor repeat scripts
    • Assume the role of custodian for the management of schedule 6 drugs per legislation
    • Proactively communicate with Nursing staff as it relates to issues identified on prescriptions
    • Ensure the correct charging for in-patients and ensure medication is timeously issued
    • Supervise the Post-Basic Pharmacist Assistant on mixing and compounding of medication
    • Ensure accurate filing of prescriptions or patient records where required
    • Capture prescription returns / credits from the wards
    • Promote medication safety and facilitate medication information to all patients and departments
    • Ensure proper medication waste management protocols are followed
    • Conduct cyclical and full stock takes
    • Monitor the usage of schedule 5 and 6 drugs and communicate / record when the stock levels are low
    • Check, monitor and control stock levels of ethical products
    • Liaise with relevant individuals in units with regards to medication expiry dates, slow moving items. Stock levels, storage conditions, drug registers and other pharmaceutical related services in wards and units
    • Ensure all stock received from suppliers are per quality standards

    Head of Engineering and Infrastructure

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
    • 5-7 years relevant experience in the same position.
    • 3 years people management experience.
    • Healthcare legislation and facility management knowledge will be advantageous.

    Minimum work experience:

    • Develop the tactical strategy for the Facilities, infrastructure and Technical (Engineering) services department.
    • Drive the implementation of integrated governance, safety and compliance frameworks throughout the division and hold direct reports and service providers accountable for delivering these frameworks.
    • Plan and utilise available skills sets and equipment for maximum effectiveness and productivity.
    • Accountable for the development and implementation of a systematic equipment maintenance plan for the Group.
    • Develop tactical strategies, policies and standards that govern the work done in the department and reduces operational costs.
    • Responsible for quality management for all CHG facilities, Plants and Machinery in accordance with statutory requirements and Occupational Health Safety regulations.
    • Routinely lead facility management audits in accordance to relevant legislation and provide recommendations where necessary.
    • Design, establish and embed effective and efficient integrated Engineering structures, policies, plans and governance structures.
    • Ensure compliance to all relevant legislation applicable to Engineering in Private Healthcare.
    • Lead projects and oversee the design of building constructions per SANS codes and specifications and ensure effective management thereof.
    • Manage interfaces beyond CHG with vendors and other critical stakeholders demands.
    • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to meet delivery outcomes, enable collaboration and knowledge sharing across the business.
    • Implement a performance management plan that optimises delivery and enables a culture of recognition and fairness across the business area.
    • Compile budget and monitor against budget for Maintenance and Repairs pertaining to all facilities, plant, Machinery and technical services department.
    • Drive adherence to statutory standards, policies and procedures within the business unit to ensure compliance at all times and take remedial action where necessary.
