As Design Specialist you will be tasked with driving the creative vision and evolution of JUMO’s brand, working closely with the Head of Content and Communications and the rest of the Corporate Affairs team. In our current phase of expansion, we’re laser focused on brand development and team collaboration to support JUMO’s growth goals. We’re looking for someone who can roll up their sleeves and get stuff done, while still keeping overall strategy in mind. You will be based in Cape Town, South Africa and report to the Head of Content and Communications.
You will
- Ensure the JUMO visual identity remains consistent and in line with our brand guidelines across all company initiatives and communications.
- Actively take part in evolving and rolling out JUMO's brand identity where required, in line with the overall company communications strategy, ethos and goals. This includes the branding of financial products available on our platform in various markets.
- Conceptualise and create the associated visual brand elements for all channels, including multiple digital, social and physical touch points.
- Develop presentation visuals, reports and slides to support senior leaders and executives in the company.
- Develop and maintain JUMO’s design system and brand guidelines.
- Establish and build key relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Champion the brand internally by making sure all JUMOnauts understand the brand, associated goals and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Manage creative projects and suppliers, such as photographers and videographers.
- Determine, design and oversee brand merchandise and associated design budgets.
You will need
- 5 years’ experience in brand communications design, including visuals for social media
- Proficient in Google Suite (specifically, Google Slides), Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and updating WordPress websites.
- Ability to work in a high performance environment and to tight deadlines.
- Ability to context switch, prioritise & self manage.
- Strategic and creative thinking capabilities.

As Data and Reporting Analyst, you will become the data guru for one or more of the many functional data domains within JUMO. Working closely with the various stakeholders, BI developers and data engineers to enable you to service data requests both internally and to external partners. You will report to the Data Modelling & Reporting Team Lead.
You will
- Work closely with all stakeholders which will include technology platform Product Owners, Data & Prediction teams, Finance, Marketing and external partners to perform investigations on data warehouse and other operational data stores to understand and assist with the real-world problems we're trying to solve.
- Need to understand the end-to-end architecture of your functional domain and be able to deep dive into the data to resolve issues or perform ad-hoc extracts.
- Perform quality assurance on new and existing data sets and pipelines to discover inconsistencies, anomalies to guide problem resolution and data cleansing exercises.
- Use advanced data query and discovery skills for ad hoc analysis and support for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Need to be able to clearly define reporting requirements to BI Developers for build.
You will need
- 5+ years experience with data and/or systems analysis experience, at least some within a formal BI environment.
- University degree in either Business, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Informatics or equivalent industry training and experience.
- Proven ability in analytics, business process analysis and presenting / communicating recommendations across all organization levels.
- Real-world understanding of data processing and storage.
- Relational database management systems experience in any relevant technology such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redshift and SQL Server.
- Experience writing advanced queries or stored procedures on RDBMS.

As a Junior Software Engineer, you will be accountable for solving complex technical problems with solutions that are scalable, testable, maintainable, and efficient, whilst continuing to improve our engineering practices. This position reports to a Tech Lead.
You will
- Deliver across the SDLC to build a highly scalable distributed system
- Assist in defining the team's roadmap in line with the company and technology vision.
- Architect services and systems using well accepted design patterns to allow for iterative, autonomous development and future scaling.
- Design, implement, test, deploy, and support our products and services.
- Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback.
- Anticipate and communicate blockers, delays and cost ballooning within their team’s projects, before they require escalation.
- Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and drive best practices and engineering excellence.
You will need
- A degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
- 1 - 2 years’ of experience with Kotlin / Java / Scala, and a cloud-based infrastructure, ideally AWS. Python experience will be an added advantage.
- Experience designing, developing and testing software.
- Some experience with the design and development of high-volume/low-latency services.
- Business and operational awareness.
