    Managing Editor – Coding & Robotics

    Editorial Project Management

    • Lead the editorial workflow of Coding & Robotics and all Computer Science related subject projects from manuscript to final product (print and digital).
    • Ensure editorial quality by applying proofreading, copy-editing, and typesetting standards in all language versions.
    • Maintain alignment with MML’s editorial policy and curriculum requirements.

    Language Localisation

    • Coordinate the localisation (not direct translation) of Coding & Robotics and all Computer Science related subject content in all official languages, ensuring clarity and curriculum alignment.
    • Collaborate with language experts to maintain consistency in Coding & Robotics and all Computer Science related subject terminology and instructional language.
    • Conduct or facilitate editorial training sessions for SMEs, authors, and reviewers.

    Stakeholder Management

    • Work closely with Publishers, Language Specialists, and Product Coordinators to manage timelines and content requirements.
    • Engage with external freelancers (editors, typesetters, proofreaders, etc.) to ensure high-quality outputs.
    • Provide editorial leadership and problem-solving for issues related to language, content clarity, and layout.

    Quality Assurance and Content Review

    • Implement a rigorous editorial and QA process, including checks, language reviews, and inclusive audits, for Coding & Robotics and all Computer Science related subjects.
    • Conduct final product checks before signoff of products, ensuring adherence to specifications.
    • Support the development and maintenance of internal tools like editorial checklists and style guides tailored for multilingual products.

    Workflow and Reporting

    • Maintain and update WIP trackers for Coding & Robotics and all Computer Science related subjects in each language and phase.
    • Provide regular status updates to the Publisher and escalate risks or bottlenecks proactively.
    • Monitor project budgets in collaboration with the Publisher.

    Educational Requirements

    • Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science and/or Coding & Robotics.

    Experience Requirements

    • At least 3 years’ experience in educational publishing or editorial management.
    • Strong understanding of the Curriculum and language policy in education.
    • Experience in working with teachers and learners at school level is not required but would be beneficial.

    Strategic Marketing Leadership

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy to support business objectives, including product launches, brand positioning, and audience engagement.
    • Identify emerging market trends and audience behaviours to refine and optimise marketing approaches.
    • Oversee the execution of multi-channel campaigns across digital, print, social media, and traditional media platforms.
    • Oversee brand consistency across all internal and external communication channels.

    • Ensure all communications are compliant with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and ethical standards.
    • Ensure consistent messaging and positioning across different book genres, series, and audience segments.
    • Lead consumer research initiatives to understand reader preferences, buying behaviours, and feedback.
    • Monitor digital channels and respond to online inquiries or concerns in a timely and professional manner.

    Revenue Growth & Sales Enablement

    • Partner with the sales team to develop marketing initiatives that drive sales in retail, educational, and online channels.
    • Develop and implement pricing strategies, promotions, and discount campaigns to maximize revenue.
    • Collaborate with sales teams to develop retail and distribution marketing plans.
    • Identify new revenue streams, including subscriptions, memberships, and digital product innovations.

    Digital & Content Innovation

    • Oversee the company’s website, e-commerce platform, and digital content strategies.
    • Ensure corporate website content remains relevant, updated, and aligned with business objectives.
    • Develop digital-first marketing campaigns that leverage AI, automation, and analytics for audience targeting.

    Educational Requirements

    • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business, or a related field.
    • Postgraduate qualification in Marketing or Communications (preferred).

    Experience Requirements

    • 7+ years of experience in marketing, brand management, or publishing marketing.
    • Proven track record of leading a marketing team and/or function executing successful campaigns.
    • Strong understanding of the publishing industry, market trends in education, and consumer insights.
    • Experience in digital marketing, e-commerce, and online book promotion.
