    Security Administrator (Security)-Epping

    RESPONSIBILITIES (NOT LIMITED TO THE BELOW)

    • Answers phone calls and delegates where necessary to ensure that division runs smoothly.
    • Takes minutes meeting and distribute.
    • Compile and formulate security management logbooks on a monthly basis.
    • Manage timesheet and attendance records.
    • Process leave applications on ESS.
    • Deriving information from Overtime Requisitions and completing monthly Reasons for Overtime spreadsheets.
    • Orders stationery on Stores Requisition for Security Department.
    • Order all uniform and PPE for new and existing staff.
    • Ensure that all security equipment is collaborated and effective to be used.
    • Assists by Proof-reading and correcting layout if necessary, of risk assessments.
    • Ensure that PSIRA file is kept up to date and registrar new employees are added and terminated employees are removed from SA Metal’s profile.
    • Create and maintain/update all gate files.
    • Maintain all gate instruction and standard operating procedures as set out by the Security management.
    • Printing of Safe Work Procedures for all staff members in Security – annually and during the year when new employees start.
    • Compiles Safety Files for all Managers within the security department.
    • Manage all administrative processes, including generating reports.
    • Adhere to Health & Safety Regulations in terms of the Safety file for the department.
    • Liaise and work together with Security Management.
    • Perform Ad-hoc requirements as and when required.

    QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE

    • Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
    • A minimum of between 3-5 years’ experience as an administrator preferably in the security industry.
    • Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
    • Problem-solving skills.
    • Multi-tasking skills.
    • Accurate and precise numeric centric.
    • Attention to detail
    • Fluent in English
    • Knowledge of Company Rules & Regulations.
    • Knowledge of staff roster and planning
    • Good knowledge of H&S regulations.
    • Flexible and willing to work overtime.
    • Ability to write reports and procedure manuals.

    Fitters Team Leader

    Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Conducting mechanical inspections on all production machinery when required
    • Responsible for conducting routine planned and preventative maintenance
    • Hydraulic systems (leaks repairs, Filter change outs)
    • Conveyor belts, drives, pulleys and replacement of rollers
    • Lubrication tasks
    • V-belts replacements
    • Attend breakdowns when required on all Production machinery
    • Fault finding on hydraulic systems
    • Servicing of various hydraulic components
    • Coordinate day-to-day activities and the flow of tasks and responsibilities
    • Drive C-Works maintenance system and ensure workshops utilization targets are met consistently
    • Coordinate and monitor quality and efficiency of work processes and inter-departmental work flow, report any issues or possible improvements to Maintenance Manager
    • Conduct spot checks on work progress and ensure quality control measures are implemented
    • Attend, oversee and assist with repairs and maintenance of existing components
    • Assist the Maintenance Manager with coordinating repairs and maintenance tasks
    • Assist the Maintenance Manager to ensure all team members comply with the safe working procedures
    • Generate job cards as needed and manage the distribution thereof to the various teams
    • Abide by the regulations as set out in the Occupational Health and Safety Act
    • Provide daily feedback on work status to the Maintenance manager
    • Support the Maintenance manager in ensuring compliance to timekeeping, productive output, discipline and work programs within the Fitters department
    • Any other tasks including administrative functions such as completing timesheets, filing, reports as agreed with the Maintenance Manager, suited to this level of responsibility

    Qualifying Criteria:

    • Qualified Fitter Artisan (Red Seal certification)
    • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Qualified Fitter in a heavy industry environment
    • Must have experience in a leadership role or position
    • Must be physical fit and able to work at heights
    • Must be able to work in confined spaces
    • Strong Hydraulic background will be an advantage
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Extensive knowledge of power tools
    • Knowledge and adherence to Occupational Health and Safety Rules and regulations
    • Ability to work under challenging conditions
    • Excellent communication skills (understand, read and write in English)
    • Computer Literate
    • Must be prepared to work overtime when required

    Production Supervisor (Meltshop)

    Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    • Management of the floor operational procedures
    • Manage quality standards in accordance with set targets and guidelines
    • Manage risk by identifying potential failures and offering solutions to remedy risk
    • Team supervision to ensure smooth operation of the shift
    • Manage floor consumables and spares to ensure that production runs smoothly
    • Investigate incidents and communicate findings and possible solutions timeously
    • Complete incident reports and submit such to the Line Manager or his delegate
    • Implementation and monitoring of Occupation Health and Safety compliance
    • Manage and enforce housekeeping standards

    Applicants must have the following qualifying criteria:

    • Matric (Maths compulsory)
    • Diploma or studying towards a qualification in Engineering
    • Must be computer literate (Microsoft Office)
    • Must have ability to detect machine discrepancies
    • Excellent Communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a production or mechanical environment;
    • Self-motivated, self-driven individual able to perform well with minimum supervision;
    • Must be able to work SHIFTS
    • Ability to work under challenging conditions
    • Must have basic knowledge of Health & Safety Rules
    • In good health, physically fit
    • Own transport

    Junior Production Manager

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Ensuring all operational processes and procedures are strictly followed
    • Identify the exact quality and specification of the commodity purchased
    • Enforce quality control standards/measures as per guidelines received from management during production and when dispatching material
    • Inspect all loads before release to customer for final quality check
    • Identify and ensure that upgrades are sorted out and record is kept
    • Maintain good customer relations and ensure customer satisfaction
    • Identify and report fraudulent transactions
    • Reject nonmetallic items and inferior quality metals
    • Ensure records are updated and reconciled accurately for all items purchased and dispatched
    • Ensure Company policies and procedures & Health & Safety regulations are adhered to
    • Lead and supervise a team in order to achieve operational and goal orientated requirements
    • Train and coach supervisors, operators and sorters according to best practices
    • Oversee production processes and meet daily production targets as set outlined
    • Monitor productivity rates, standards and quality control during the production stages
    • Plan production daily according to requirements and liaise with stores for consumables and PPE
    • Ensure that assistants thoroughly inspect scrap to be purchased and display all metals openly for photographing
    • Ensure that the requirements of the Second-hand Goods Act are complied with when buying scrap by accurately recording all information required under the Act
    • Disciplinary action and daily management of staff.
    • Plant and equipment are maintained as per the maintenance schedule.
    • Communicate with engineering dept. for scheduling repair work on machinery
    • Ensure that vehicles are loaded as per the permissible maximum combination mass (axle weighing) before release.
    • Ensures that tasks are delegated to the different staff members within the department.
    • Ensure that employees are properly trained and licensed for the machinery/equipment that they operate.
    • Ensure that all production staff members wear the correct and required PPE at all times.
    • Estimate stockpiles for stock taking
    • Report daily production plan vs. final figures

    QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE:

    • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent.
    • 5 years’ experience in a Supervisory position.
    • A minimum of at least 5 years’ experience in a production industry.
    • Computer literate - full Microsoft suite.
    • Must be conversant with the Second-hand Goods Act.
    • Good knowledge of H&S regulations.
    • Scrap metal experience will be an advantage.
