    Mining - Senior General Manager (67549)

    Job Description

    • Mining house based in the Northern Cape region is seeking to appoint an experienced Senior General Manager

    Duties:

    • Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the mining operation
    • Drive operational performance, safety, and long-term sustainability of the mine
    • Oversee multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient and compliant execution of mining activities
    • Lead business planning, performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives
    • Manage stakeholder relationships, including organised labour, communities, regulators, and industry bodies

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering, Engineering, Metallurgy, Geology or equivalent (essential)

    Job Description

    • A well-established food manufacturing company renowned for its superior quality products is seeking an experienced Technical & Innovation Technologist to join their dedicated team, based in the Durban area. This role reports into the Technical & Innovation Manager.
    • The successful candidate will be responsible for Statistical reporting, labelling and specifications creation/ reviews and updating as well as customer presentations and training.

    Requirements:

    • Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent
    • Diploma/Degree in Food Technology / Food Science
    • 3-5 years' experience in the food industry, experience in a meat processing environment would be advantageous.
    • Experience in project management
    • Ability to teamwork within T&I team, across functional teams as well as work independently as required and efficiently.

    Job Description

    • My client (FMCG) based in Randfontein, Johannesburg, is seeking an Instrumentation Technician.

    JOB PURPOSE:

    • To install, calibrate, maintain, and repair industrial process control systems, safely and in compliance with applicable policies, procedures and regulatory statutes.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:

    Instrumentation Installation and Maintenance

    • Monitor performance, functionality, and output of instrumentation equipment
    • Carry out installations, defined checks, troubleshooting, required testing, repairs, and modifications to instrumentation and electronics equipment in accordance with specified instructions.
    • Maintain and improve existing PLC, SCADA systems, and Instrumentation networks (hardware and software) and perform changes/modifications as required;
    • Develop programs for new equipment and plants.
    • Improve/ automate old manual processes
    • Carry out planned and autonomous maintenance to reduce unplanned maintenance and optimize availability.
    • Calibrate instruments, repair and maintain control gear and associated equipment to ensure operation within set standards.

    Resource Control

    • Ensure spares procurement and maintenance of defined minimum stock levels, ensuring availability of critical spares for all process control equipment.
    • Conduct asset care activities as required by the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) systems and procedures, including accurate and timeous feedback and documentation to all stakeholders;

    Projects Execution

    • Provide input in scoping and commissioning of related projects
    • Ensure proper documentation of changes/modifications (e.g., but not limited to PLC software, SCADA software, network configuration, and wiring diagrams e.t.c)

    Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, Quality, Food Safety (SHERQFS) Compliance

    • Conduct safety checks in zoned areas and take corrective action where necessary.
    • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work area in conformance with Food Safety and SHERQ requirements.
    • Comply with Company SHERQ procedures and instructions.
    • Ensure compliance of self and team members with Company SHERQFS policies and procedures.

    QUALIFYING ATTRIBUTES:

    Qualifications

    • N6 qualification and Instrument Mechanician trade certificate
    • Recognised Siemens certification will be advantageous

    Experience

    • 3 years' experience in instrumentation, HV, and LV
    • Working experience with industrial communication methodologies (RS-232, ASI, Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet, Devicenet, HART)
    • Working experience with industrial Automation (Siemens PLCs, Drives, Allen-Bradley PLCs, GE PLCs etc)

    Knowledge& Skills

    • Sound knowledge of PLCs (mainly Siemens S7, Allen Bradley, GE, Beckhoff DCS systems, etc.), Operator interfaces (HMI), ACDC drives, SCADA networks, and communication protocols
    • Proficiency in MS Office, PLC and SCADA software
