    Continuous Improvement Advisor

    Clover is looking for a Continuous Improvement Advisor that will be responsible for the planning, controlling and co-ordination of group activities, to ensure optimal utilisation of resources. Evaluates process feasibility and economic studies. Assists other disciplines as far as process design is concerned.

    Requirements    

    • Related Honours degree
    • Code 08 Driver's license
    • Travel off-site/ overnight stay

    Duties and Responsibilities    
    Strategy & Measurement Framework       

    • Establish and document performance measurement standards that align with international and industry best practices, and ensure these standards are clearly communicated to all levels of the business.
    • Develop and implement measurement strategies that provide meaningful business insights, ensuring that efficiency data is relevant and actionable for operational, tactical, and strategic decision-making.
    • Set and continuously refine efficiency benchmarks that align with industry standards, ensuring consistent and accurate performance evaluation across all production lines.

    Tool Selection, Integration & System Management       

    • Define, implement, and continuously refine the tools required for performance monitoring, ensuring they remain aligned with industry best practices.
    • Ensure that the efficiency monitoring system remains relevant, accurate, and fully integrated with the broader process control environment to minimize reliance on stand-alone or non-linked systems.
    • Ensure reliable data collection by integrating automation and process control systems, reducing the need for manual input and improving accuracy.

    Data Analysis, Process Improvement & Change Implementation      

    • Analyse production data to identify inefficiencies, trends, and bottlenecks, providing actionable insights to drive continuous improvement.
    • Work closely with Technical Services, production, and maintenance teams to develop data-driven strategies for improving efficiency.
    • Proactively propose process changes, optimization opportunities, and automation strategies based on efficiency data.
    • Investigate machine downtime and production losses, identifying root causes and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.

    Efficiency Improvement & Project Leadership  

    • Establish a structured list of efficiency improvement projects, prioritizing initiatives based on data insights. Oversee projects from identification, investigation, business case development, and execution, ensuring clear outcomes and measurable targets.
    • Lead structured improvement projects focused on efficiency gains, ensuring alignment with business objectives and process control integration.
    • Provide input into the planning and execution of new installations to ensure efficiency monitoring and automation capabilities are embedded from the outset, reducing reliance on manual data collection.

    Manager: Maintenance Planning

    Clover is currently recruiting for a Manager: Maintenance Planning. The successful candidate will be responsible to manage the maintenance planning function at a production plant. This exciting opportunity is based at the Clover Clayville branch.

    Duties and Responsibilities    
    Implement and update maintenance system  

    • Plant register: a) Input of asset cards for every item of the plant, with full details of spare parts, lubrication, data sheets, serial number, D-Bit asset ID and service supplies. (b) Regular update of plant register (CPR 372) (c) Co-ordinate the identification of critical equipment. Co-ordinate the identification of ISO/HACCP and all calibration set ups (d) Co-ordinate the total safety equipment with its schedules (e) Co-ordinate the capitalization and write off of all assets (f) Co-ordinate the yearly asset verification of the branch  
    • Audit the General Ledger codes continually  
    • Liaise with Support Manager: Pragma for ongoing support and trouble shooting 
    • Ensure all modifications are updated through the Pragma System  
    • Maintain schedules (CPR 373): a) Co-ordinate the writing of schedules for critical equipment following optimization principles, RCM and, thereafter, for all other equipment (b) Co-ordinate the evaluation of existing schedules following optimization principles and adjust or discard if necessary annually (c) Co-ordinate writing of schedules for legally required inspections and procedures (d) Allocate estimated time to schedule work  
    • Handle all job cards and requests (CPR594): a) Ensure that the job card workflow is adhered to as per policy (b) liaise with departments with respect to all maintenance tasks and ensure that all work carried out is planned and completed in a systematic and coordinated manner (c) Plan and initiate all plant shutdowns (d) Audits on works requisitions and works orders  
    • Manage all aspects of the Maintenance Index

    Coordinate maintenance planning (CPR379)  

    • Liaise with Departments with respect to all maintenance tasks and ensure that all work carried out is planned and completed in a systematic and coordinated manner  
    • Ensure that a schedule board exists and is used for planning and shutdowns (CPR860)  
    • Set up a master plan for all planned maintenance work at branch and to follow up on the success of these plans  
    • Manage forklift maintenance requirements and load tests for Production Mhe’s
    • Plan and initiate all plant shutdowns 
    • Ensure that all status codes are used correctly for planning  
    • Carry out weekly planning meetings with maintenance and production present 
    • Issue schedule cards each week  
    • Retain details of uncompleted job cards/requests  
    • Plan work loading per Artisan per week, taking into consideration work priorities and available manpower  
    • Provide Pragma training for Onkey +, Mat Man and FEA

    Manage engineering stores  

    • Manage the engineering store ensuring that all controls e.g. stock levels, stock count, issues and purchases are maintained (CPR380, CPR853, CPR804, CPR805)  
    • Ensure that all stock transactions are within the guidelines of the accountancy policies  
    • Undertake parts adjustments  
    • Undertake annual and quarterly stock usage analysis and act e.g. change of minimum stock levels, identifications of slow-moving parts and obsolete stock  
    • Identify critical spares  
    • Manage and control the used spares store e.g. details of stock, bin numbers etc. 
    • Manage oil stores including all lubricants, CO2, etc. Ensure MSDSs are updated
    • Ensure that lubricants are identified per equipment manual and capture details on EAM for equipment lubricant specifications  
    • Configure new Stock items and manage replenishments
    • Ensure that cycle counts are done weekly and that an official quarterly stock count is carried out as per Clover policy (CPR804)  
    • Manage Tetrapak stock and perform quarterly stock takes with Tetrapak. Follow up on non-replenished items weekly

    Oversee the engineering buying process  

    • Manage engineering buying ensuring that all controls are as per the accounting policy and Clover policies (CPR853) 
    • Weekly manage status 25 and status 30 orders and ensure no overdue orders longer than 30 days
    • Update cash flow files on overall maintenance and capex
    • Weekly forecasts to be done on maintenance expenditure
    • Manage buyers to ensure most cost-effective purchases are done, constantly seeking new vendors, cheaper pricing, better deliveries.
    • Ensure all buying are strictly done according to company policies

    Compile reports and ad-hoc activities  

    • Ensure performance standards and performance indicators for the different mission success factors are identified and measured  
    • Provide Pragma training for Engineering team
    • Identify the measurements needed and ensure that the Maintenance Manager/Plant Engineer is updated with these daily, weekly and monthly (CPR382, CPR853)  
    • Ensure the completeness and control of the technical library  
    • Ensure the completeness and filing of all calibrations  
    • Help with the maintenance index measurements  
    • Carry out a self-audit as per the annual maintenance audit carried out by Head Office
