    O&M Asset & Spares Specialist (Release)

    Main purpose of position

    • Currently we are looking for an Operations & Maintenance Asset & Spares Specialist in Cape Town, South Africa to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. 
    • As our O&M Asset & Spares Specialist, you will ensure the structured, cost-effective, and reliable management of spare parts, materials, and related services across Release’s operational power plant portfolio.
    • You will oversee the full lifecycle of operational spares; from demand forecasting and procurement coordination to logistics, customs management, inventory governance, warranty administration, and invoice verification. Your work will directly support minimizing downtime and ensuring seamless operations across multiple sites.

    Main responsibilities 

    • Manage the end-to-end O&M spares lifecycle, including strategy development, forecasting, stock level optimisation, and consumption analysis to minimise downtime and emergency procurement.
    • Coordinate procurement, logistics, and customs processes, ensuring timely, compliant delivery of spare parts and services across all operational sites.
    • Oversee inventory governance and site compliance, including stock tracking, audits, storage verification, and standardisation of inventory practices.
    • Ensure CMMS data integrity and alignment, maintaining accurate asset registers, BOMs, and inventory records to support effective maintenance planning.
    • Administer warranties, contracts, and non-conformances, including claims management, supplier performance resolution, and lessons learned reporting.
    • Control invoice and work verification processes, validating supplier invoices against contracts, deliveries, and completed work to ensure financial accuracy.
    • Manage OEM and supplier relationships, supporting negotiations, monitoring performance, and ensuring reliable service across diverse and remote environments.
    • Support budgeting, reporting, and supply chain optimisation, including cost tracking, performance reporting, localisation strategies, and development of resilient global and local supplier networks.

    Qualifications and competencies 

    • Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related technical field
    • 5+ years’ professional experience in operations support, asset management, procurement coordination, inventory management, or O&M environments within power generation, renewable energy, or industrial infrastructure sectors.
    • Proven experience managing spare parts, logistics coordination, and supplier performance.
    • Practical experience with customs processes, import/export documentation, and logistics coordination across multiple countries.
    • Experience verifying contracts, purchase orders, and supplier invoices within an operational environment.
    • Familiarity with CMMS systems and digital inventory management tools.
    • Understanding of operational environments and plant maintenance requirements.
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

    Advantageous:

    • 4+ years’ experience within renewable energy (PV and/or BESS) operational portfolios.
    • Experience supporting multi-site operations across different countries and regulatory environments.
    • Familiarity with warranty management and supplier non-conformance processes.
    • Experience working in remote or developing market contexts.
    • Knowledge of localisation strategies and regional supplier development.
    • Fluency in French or additional languages relevant to operating regions.

    Senior O&M Technician (Release)

    Main responsibilities 

    • Perform and oversee maintenance activities, including inspections, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs to ensure optimal plant performance and reliability.
    • Lead troubleshooting and fault resolution, diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues with structured root cause analysis and CMMS documentation.
    • Monitor system performance in real time, responding to alarms and deviations to maintain plant availability and performance targets.
    • Act as the operational interface between Release, the Global Operations Centre (GOC), and site teams, ensuring clear communication and coordinated issue resolution.
    • Provide technical support to site teams, guiding maintenance execution, fault resolution, and adherence to operational standards.
    • Deliver training and knowledge transfer, supporting upskilling and structured handover to site and client O&M teams.
    • Coordinate CMMS work orders, ensuring accurate planning, prioritisation, execution, and documentation of maintenance activities.
    • Ensure safety, compliance, and emergency response readiness, while supporting reporting, performance tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives.

    Qualifications and competencies 

    • National diploma or bachelor’s degree in electrical/mechanical/renewable energy engineering or technical qualifica-tion with substantial working experience in the industry.
    • 8+ years’ experience working at a solar PV plant. Battery Energy Storage systems experience also advantageous
    • 8+ years’ experience in operations and maintenance of PV plants
    • Strong understanding of procurement processes, as well as PV and BESS operations and performance metrics.
    • Proficiency in plant monitoring, data acquisition, analysis, and reporting, with advanced MS Office skills and solid working knowledge of PDF tools.

    Industrial Relations Specialist

    Main purpose of position:

    • We are seeking an experienced Industrial Relations (IR) Specialist to join our global team in Thakadu, Free State, as we work toward our vision: Improving our Future.
    • In this role, you will be responsible for safeguarding project stability by proactively managing labour relations, community engagement, and stakeholder communication at project level.
    • The role ensures alignment between project execution, contractor compliance, labour legislation, and community expectations. It identifies and mitigates industrial relations and social risks that may impact project timelines, compliance, cost, or reputation.
    • The IR Specialist acts as a trusted advisor to project leadership, ensuring structured stakeholder engagement, early conflict resolution, and responsible local participation in line with Scatec’s standards and regulatory requirements.

    Main responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement communication and stakeholder engagement strategies aligned with project milestones.
    • Prepare and distribute clear, timely communication materials to ensure accurate information flow and prevent misinformation.
    • Represent the project in community, municipal, and industry engagements.
    • Monitor labour dynamics, identify risks early, and support dispute resolution in line with legislation and policies.
    • Ensure contractor compliance with labour laws, local recruitment protocols, and project commitments.
    • Promote local economic participation by engaging SMMEs, supporting procurement initiatives, and maintaining local databases.
    • Identify, assess, and manage IR and community-related risks, including implementing grievance mechanisms and mitigation strategies.
    • Provide advisory support and collaborate cross-functionally to align stakeholders, contractors, and internal teams on labour and community matters.

    Qualifications and competencies:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Labour Relations, Industrial Psychology, HR, Law, Social Sciences, or related field.
    • Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in Industrial Relations, Labour Relations, or Community Relations within infrastructure, construction, energy, mining, or similar project-based environments
    • Proven experience managing labour disputes, grievance processes, and mediation in high-risk or unionised environments.
    • Experience working with contractors and subcontractors on labour compliance and recruitment protocols.
    • Demonstrated experience engaging with community leadership structures and local stakeholders.
    • Experience identifying and mitigating social and industrial risks impacting project delivery.
    • Willingness and ability to travel between and work across various project sites as required.

    Advantageous:

    • Experience in renewable energy or large-scale infrastructure projects.

    GOC Officer 1

    Main purpose of position:

    • We are seeking a GOC Officer 1 to join our global team based in Cape Town, South Africa, as we work toward our vision: Improving our Future
    • In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring our global portfolio of PV and Battery power plants from the Global Operations Centre (GOC). You will play a key role in ensuring optimal plant performance by proactively identifying issues and supporting timely resolution.
    • The GOC Officer will support the use of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to coordinate and dispatch work orders, with the goal of minimizing plant downtime and maximizing operational efficiency.
    • In addition, you will contribute to performance reporting across daily, weekly, and monthly cycles, helping provide clear insights into plant operations and performance.

    Main responsibilities:

    • Monitor the global portfolio of PV and Battery plants on a rotating shift basis to ensure 24/7 operational coverage.
    • Identify, log, and manage plant anomalies through the CMMS, including creating and dispatching work orders.
    • Communicate directly with site personnel to guide and support timely resolution of operational issues.
    • Respond to operational events and alarms, conducting first-line investigations and coordinating follow-up actions.
    • Track plant performance and activities, ensuring accurate data capture and record-keeping within the CMMS.
    • Prepare and contribute to daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports, including flash reports for major events.
    • Ensure effective communication with Plant Supervisors and support coordination during significant plant events.
    • Support SCADA system monitoring, data extraction, and continuous improvement of GOC processes and procedures.

    Qualifications and competencies:

    • BTech in Engineering
    • Highly computer literate
    • Knowledge of Power Electrical (LV & HV) systems and support services
    • Understanding of LV & HV systems, preferably AC and DC systems
    • Understanding with reading and understanding technical diagrams and drawings
    • Work experience in the Renewable Energy environment will be advantageous
    • Exposure to SCADA systems will be advantageous
    • Understanding of the operational working of plant electrical equipment like Transformers, Switchgear, Inverters, SCADA and network communication
    • Understanding of plant monitoring equipment will be advantageous

    Superintendent Electrical: 12 Month Contract (Thakadu)

    Main purpose of position

    • As our Electrical Superintendent you will be authorized to supervise, direct or administer all electrical activities at site, monitor physical progress of the works and report status and deviations on quality, time, cost and HSSE, engage daily with the site managers of sub-suppliers, Scatec Site Manager and Quality Manager.

    Main responsibilities 

    • Support quality team by ensuring all mechanical activities at site are done, monitor physical progress of the works and report status and deviations on quality, time, cost and HSSE, engage daily with the site managers of sub-suppliers. Responsible for the construction of mechanical works element of the plant such as Piles Installation, Trackers Installation, Modules Installation, Electrical Installation (D-Box & Motor), Mechanical assembly of equipment, Pull Out Testing performed by the Installation Contractor & Inverter Structure Installation.
    • Review and approve construction documentation submitted by contractors as Method Statements, request support and approval from the engineering team when required. Support Quality Team to review material/component specifications and datasheets
    • Organize in cooperation with Sub-Contractor(s) and lead Pre-Construction Meetings related to mechanical activities, secure that activities at site only starts after common agreement from those meetings.
    • Monitor physical progress from contractors daily, evaluate estimations to complete in cooperation with the planning team and demand action and/or recovery plans from contractors when needed. Support Quantity Surveillance to manage measurable contracts when applicable.
    • Handle communication of technical queries from Contractors and facilitation of discussion and resolution with Lead Engineer and Project Technical Manager, secure that construction is always executed with the latest version of drawings, manuals and specifications. Verify that “Red Line Drawings” on construction documentation are kept updated and signed.
    • Coordinate SSO quality Inspectors about critical activities and where they shall be present at site daily for random physical inspections and audits, in addition to their witness and hold point requests.
    • Assist quality team on NCR process at site, taken ownership to follow up implementation of corrective actions.
    • Be part of final inspections and completion of activities at site, follow up and chase for final Quality Documentation ( ITP, Punch List, RFI’s, Data Books, Red Line Drawings and FTQ360 Check Sheet for TTO).
    • Responsible to Finalize and Complete Mechanical TTO Requirements as per TTO Index. Ensure that the Mechanical Team FTQ360 Check Sheets are completed and correctly saved as per TTO Requirement.

    Qualifications and competencies 

    • Degree/Diploma in Electro/Mechanical Engineering / Technician
    • Minimum: 5+ years’ experience working in the field of EPC in medium to large size construction projects
    • Knowledge about Mechanical Best Industry practices
    • Specialization in Solar and/or renewables
    • Knowledge about Quality Control System, Root Cause Analysis, Pareto Analysis
    • Ideal:1+ years PV experience on Dual Tracker Systems
    • Fluent in English, spoken and written 
    • You are used to changing environments and to quickly meet new challenges

    O&M Project Developer (Commercial)

    Main purpose of position:

    • We are currently seeking an O&M Project Developer (Commercial) to join our Cape Town office and be part of our global team working toward our vision: Improving our Future.
    • As our O&M Project Developer you will be responsible for supporting the commercial and strategic development of Operations & Maintenance activities across renewable energy projects and operating assets.

    • Develop and maintain financial models, cost assumptions, and pricing databases related to O&M activities.
    • Conduct Levelized Cost of Energy analysis with O&M Engineering to support plant design optimisation.
    • Provide O&M commercial input and ensure budget alignment across Decision Gate 0 to Decision Gate 3 project stages, Engineering, Procurement and Construction budgets, and Special Purpose Vehicle financial models.
    • Support the development of O&M strategies and business cases for new projects.
    • Conduct market and competitor analysis, identify suppliers, benchmark costs, and manage O&M -related Requests for Proposals processes.
    • Assist with contract reviews and identify opportunities for regional or portfolio-wide service agreements to achieve economies of scale.
    • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Engineering, Asset Optimisation, and Process and Standards teams to continuously improve Operations and Maintenance project development processes and ensure consistent technical and commercial assumptions.

    Qualifications and competencies:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Finance/Accounting
    • 3-5 years relevant professional experience, preferably within the Renewables industry.
    • Experience with contract management and tendering is preferred but not a requirement.
    • Analytical mindset with financial acumen and high attention to detail.

    Project Developer

    Main purpose of position

    • Currently we are looking for a Project Developer in Cape Town, South Africa to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. 
    • As our Project Developer, you will be responsible for leading the development and structuring of utility-scale renewable energy projects from early opportunity through the development cycle to financial close.
    • Your ability to structure and negotiate complex transactions, lead external and internal development processes, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams is key to successfully lead the project to financial close and start of construction.

    Main responsibilities

    • Manage negotiations for project acquisitions and the acquisition/transaction process
    • Support the process to secure equity and debt finance for projects and achieve financial close
    • Manage negotiations with prospective development partners and assume responsibility for external stakeholder relationships
    • Plan and coordinate internal and external project development efforts including securing land, obtaining required local permits and approvals, securing interconnection rights from utilities, negotiating PPAs with utilities, establishing EPC and O&M agreements, as well as securing project equity and debt financing
    • Manage and coordinate the development teams involved in the structuring/financial closing phase, including internal resources, consultants, development partners and external advisors
    • Implement and manage project controls processes: scheduling, cost controls & contract management
    • Effectively communicate project progress to all project stakeholders (internal/external).
    • Identify and develop mitigation strategies for main project risks
    • Undertake market reviews, analysing regulatory developments, issues and policy supports for utility-scale renewable energy projects and contribute to the development of project development strategies for countries or regions
    • Lead bidding processes to submit bid packages in response to Request for Proposals (RFPs) from public utilities and private off-takers 

    Qualifications and competencies

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or Law (Master’s a plus)
    • Experience: 5 - 7 years of professional experience ideally from a renewable energy IPP, investment bank and/or project finance/operations and/or leading global management consulting firms
    • Experience with closing complex transactions, deal structuring and project finance
    • Significant experience with renewable energy project development in emerging markets
    • Understanding of electricity markets and in particular renewable energy
    • Working knowledge and understanding of power purchase agreements, interconnection agreements, permitting requirements and EPC contract terms and conditions is preferable, but not required
    • Strong knowledge of business fundamentals and financial analysis
    • Expert level of proficiency in Microsoft Office productivity tools, including Excel and PowerPoint
    • Language: fluent both written and spoken in English.
