    Senior Rail Civil Draughter

    Role responsibilities

    • Be part of a key group of design engineers, technologists and draughters which will be focused on the delivery of projects in a digitally innovative environment, working in the Rail group of the Global Design Centre, undertaking project work for projects in Australia, New Zealand and Asia.
    • Use your 8 to 15+ years’ experience in a Senior Civil Draughter role, having advanced skills in AutoCAD, Bentley Microstation Connect, Bentley Projectwise, MS Office, and MS Teams.
    • Draughting of Rail infrastructure designs including: Plan and profile; Cross-sections and typical sections; General arrangements; Specific details of track infrastructure; Civil works and drainage; Different design stages (concept to as-builts)
    • Management of personal and draughting team budget and time against project costs and execution schedule, to ensure that deliverables are provided within the project time and budget constraints.
    • Experience in railway civil/structures will be beneficial

    Structural Engineer (Industrial Infrastructure)

    Role responsibilities

    • Preparing reports, designs, and drawings (including calculations about loads and stresses)
    • Providing technical advice, and liaising with relevant professional staff across multiple international locations
    • Managing project designs relevant to petrochemical, industrial structures and/or energy Infrastructure projects.
    • Extensive knowledge and experience relating to reinforced concrete and structural steel design

    Minimum requirements

    • MSc/BSc or MEng/BEng in Civil Engineering (Mandatory)
    • Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience as a Structural Engineer within petrochemical, industrial, and/or energy infrastructure.
    • Seismic design experience (preferred)
    • PrEng (preferred or eligible for registration)

    Engineering Structural Level 5

    Role Responsibilities

    • Provide leadership to a team of digital designers, engineers, technicians, and modellers
    • Coordinating the design and virtual construction of the relevant building such as data centres, education and sports facilities, hospitals, commercial buildings, and transport facilities
    • Managing and quality checking deliverables (incl. modelling works, data/parameter management) carried out by global and multinational dispersed & remote teams
    • Co-ordinating with other disciplines
    • Facilitating virtual and mixed reality sessions for co-ordination and consultation purposes, and be interested in the research and implementation of new BIM technology into project work
    • Maintain project records in accordance with internal quality system
    • Challenge the team to remain ahead of the technology curve, regarding technical trends, as well as design execution
    • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers

    Minimum Requirements

    • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the Structural Engineering environment, within the built environment, preferably within a consulting engineering business
    • A strong background in lateral design of structural using software such as Etabs, Strand7 or Robot.
    • Experience with managing design teams, to complete tasks and produce high quality deliverables such as drawings, reports, equipment schedules and calculations on time
    • Relevant tertiary qualifications in civil engineering, B.Eng. (Civil),
    • Pr. Eng registration (beneficial)
    • Meng in structural engineering will be advantageous
    • Previous exposure to datacentre, stadiums, education, healthcare, and other commercial related projects
    • International project experience (outside Africa) (beneficial)
    • A willingness to learn and investigate technological systems
    • A strong interest in working on innovative and complex projects
    • A passion for design data management and coding (beneficial)
    • BIM and Revit experience is an advantage.

    Mechanical Engineer

    Role Responsibilities

    • Provide leadership to a team of digital designers, engineers, technicians and modellers, primarily within the HVAC discipline
    • Analysing project requirements in the context of various codes and standard and develop conceptual designs through to a set of construction information
    • Coordinating the design and virtual construction of the relevent building services designs forming part of projects such as data centres, education and sports facilities, hospitals, commercial buildings and transport facilities to ensure our deliverables meet required robust industry and legal standards.
    • Develops and specifies mechanical HVAC systems including;
    • Chiller plant (air and water cooled)
    • District Cooling Energy Transfer Stations
    • VRF refrigerant systems
    • Heat Recovery Ventilation systems
    • Building pressurisation systems
    • Building Management Systems – Controls, instruments and operating systems
    • Smoke Management Systems
    • Piped and ducted distribution systems design
    • Represents Zutari at technical meetings with customers, professional teams and contractor teams
    • Responsible for technical content and accuracy of Trainee, Graduates and Engineers
    • Validation and checking of designs and specifications
    • Ensuring full responsibility and accountability for all related HVAC design aspects, from conceptional to final design.
    • Develop scripts and add-ins to automate repetitive design aspects and/or to check various design compliance aspects (using e.g. Dynamo, Python)
    • Managing and quality checking deliverables (incl. modelling works, data/parameter management) carried out by global and multinational dispersed & remote teams
    • Co-ordinating with other disciplines
    • Maintain project records in accordance with internal quality system
    • Challenge the team to remain ahead of the technology curve, regarding technical trends, as well as design execution
    • Experience of projects in the Middle East is advantageous.

    Minimum Requirements

    • BSc/MSc or BEng/MEng within building services related field, with HVAC and Wet Services experience
    • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in the Mechanical environment, within the built environment, preferably within a consulting engineering business
    • Professionally Registered (PrEng or similar)
    • A strong background in HVAC design, including chilled water systems design, refrigerant system design, reticulation design, , air side system design, compilation of specifications, heat load simulation using Carrier or IESVE 
    • Demonstratable experience leading large projects, from concept, through to construction
    • Have strong understanding of local & international codes & standards, including those applicable to South Africa, Middle East, SE Asia & Australia
    • Previous exposure to datacentre, stadiums, education, healthcare, and other commercial related projects
    • Understanding of LEED/WELL requirements (beneficial)
    • Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Designer (ATD) (beneficial)
    • International project experience (outside Africa) (beneficial)
    • Strong proficiency in Revit with the ability to deliver to a minimum of LOD300 (beneficial)
    • A willingness to learn and investigate technological systems
    • A strong interest in working on innovative and complex projects
    • A passion for design data management and coding (beneficial)
