    Quality Controller - VKB Milling, Mokopane

    JOB FUNCTION

    • Responsible for the management, handling and storage of maize in order to ensure a quality product to achieve sustainable financial results.

    Job Description

    • The Quality Controller will be responsible assist the Quality Control Manager within VKB Milling. Continuous evaluation of the system will be required.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12/ NQF 4
    • Proven experience within a similar role
    • Computer literate in the MS Office package
    • Food Safety Background 

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Continuous liaison with internal departments on an ongoing basis to ensure Food safety service and products.
    • Keep up to date with changes in current legislation and implement such changes where relevant
    • Distribute and review all the relevant documentation and product specifications pertaining to Quality Assurance.                
    • Audit and develop the company’s quality procedures ensuring the safety of all products manufactured.
    • Comply with Occupational Health and Safety requirements and Food safety requirements as per standards and procedures.                              
    • Perform inspections on Products, Equipment and Machinery and based on findings, accept or reject relevant products and procedures.
    • Ensure that the correct recipe guidelines for products are met during processing

    Junior Quality Assurance Analyst - VKB I&T, Head Office Reitz

    About the Role:

    • The role is established in the Governance, Risk and Compliance department of the VKB Information and Technology department as part of the Quality Assurance Team. Junior Quality Assurance Analyst will report to the Quality Assurance Lead and ultimately to the I&T Manager: Governance Risk and Compliance.
    • The Junior Quality Assurance Analyst will be responsible for working with the Quality Assurance Team to deliver high-quality products in line with pre-determined standards to the relevant product owners. As part of the QA process, activities will include designing and executing of manual and automated testing procedures in accordance with the Q&A framework and best practice principals.
    • Junior Quality Assurance Analyst is regarded as the entry-level positions in the QA department but will have the opportunity to progress to a QA Analyst and ultimately a Senior QA Analyst.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Perform comprehensive manual and automated testing on different software.
    • Identify and create test cases based on business requirements and specifications.
    • Communicate progress and provide feedback to developers and other IT members in daily standup meetings.
    • Help and develop the junior members of the team to ensure growth and overall high productivity.
    • Review, maintain and build upon test cases and other work products created by other team members.
    • Attend all training and prescribed development activities identified by management.
    • Provide detailed and accurate reporting of tests, results and recommendations in a metric and structured manner.
    • Deliver exceptional customer service to VKB operational departments.

    Skills and Qualifications:

    • Minimum grade 12 education with an applicable Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, BCom IT or related field (combination of IT and business subjects preferred)
    • 2 years minimum experience working as a QA analyst/tester.
    • Experience running and developing automated tests using JAVA/Selenium and Jenkins.
    • ISTQB Foundation level or related testing qualification.
    • Knowledge and experience working in Agile methodology.
    • Good working experience with JIRA and QMetry would be an advantage.

    Senior Admin Assistant - VKB Retail, Head Office Reitz

    Job Description

    • Responsible for the overall management and training of the administrative personnel in VKB Retail.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12/NQF4 with Accounting or Maths as subjects.
    • 4 years' experience working in a similar role (Administrative/ Retail).
    • Computer literate in MS Office package.
    • Valid driver's license and willing to travel regularly.

    Duties and Responsibilities 

    • Continuous verification of internal controls (inventory count, claims, returns, shipments, stationery register, etc.) to ensure that risk is minimised within administrative function that could result in financial loss.
    • Continuous reconciliation and verification of controls pertaining to back transactions and petty cash.
    • Ensure that branches comply with all legislative requirements and regulation, VKB systems, Policies and documentation.
    • Conducting Inventory Surveys; scheduled and unscheduled.
    • To review Audit reports and identify and implement interventions to minimise risks by implementing action plans that minimise audit points.
    • Taking disciplinary action and carrying out accompanying steps and procedures within the disciplinary code in collaboration with the Human Resources department.
    • Ensure that Retail Branches meet all administrative requirements by conducting routine inspections.
    • Compile and communicate monthly reports giving feedback on possible risks, discrepancies as well as solutions to address them.
    • Provide all retail staff with the necessary expert advice and assistance as required.
    • Co-ordinating and resolving customer complaints and inquiries within 8 hours of receipt.
    • Continuous liaison with internal departments (HR, Input Trade, Finance, Purchasers, Audit) and clients to ensure quality service delivery and maintain long-term relationships.
    • Ensure that staff are mentored and trained to perform all tasks according to VKB’s Policies and Procedures to the necessary standard.
    • Identify training needs and coordinate training interventions, together with the training department, to address those needs.
