    Logistics Supervisor

    Responsibilities

    Logistic monthly, weekly, daily planning

    • Managing the company fleet and outside contractors.
    • Developing daily distribution schedules to ensure effective customer service and utilisation of transport resources.
    • Optimise the scheduling of the fleet leading to improved vehicle and route utilisation.  Continuous execution, monitoring and exercising of corrective controls through dynamic re-planning and exceptions management.
    • Monitoring transportation capacity and ensure short- and long-term constraints/limitations are flagged and addressed.
    • Transport allocation to internal and external transporters to ensure effective usage of resources, customer service and cost containment as per company procedure and service level agreements.
    • Ensuring customer expectations is communicated to Operational Department.
    • Review loading schedule provided from Operations and recommend changes to drive customer service.
    • Take responsibility for sufficient utilization of the company’s vehicle fleet to ensure profitability.

    Training

    • Ensure Logistic Procedure is up to date and relevant
    • Ensure all staff is trained and understands the Logistic procedure as well as all procedures relevant to the department.

    Seed Management

    • Manage/Supervise the handling of Seed transportation to ensure its effective and efficient into Silo’s and out of Silo’s to SOILL.

    Key account management

    • Manage “special” logistical/planning functions for Key account customers, handled out of normal sales/operations procedure

    Client/ Customer Services

    • Ensure customers receive the correct stock ordered, at the agreed time.
    • Customer strike rate is reported daily/weekly/monthly

    Export management

    •  Responsible to receive Forwarding quotations for Warehouse & Logistic Manager approval.
    • Handle all communication interactions between SOILL and Forwarding company.
    • Ensure all necessary documentation is provided to Sales, Customer, Finance and Operations.

    Import management

    • Handle full communication between forwarding company and all relevant departments.
    • Ensure slot bookings are in place for collection and delivery of import products.
    • Ensure all necessary documentation is provided to Sales, Customer, Finance and Operations.

    Truck allocation

    • Communicate planning to operational department daily.
    •  If necessary, make decision(s) on using 3rd party transporters to achieve service delivery.
    • Facilitate all 3rd party transport communication.

    Communication

    • Supervise and ensure all slot bookings are made for deliveries according to agreed internal parameters and customer expectations.
    • Facilitate communication between planning, administration, operations and sales.
    •  Implement any customer feedback requests into SOILL.

    Vehicle tracking

    • Actively supervise daily delivery schedules and progress, implement rectification actions to drive operational efficiency and customer service levels.
    • Report on any deviations on a weekly basis to Warehouse & Logistic Manager, along with rectification actions to improve on delivery routes.

    Cost management(s)

    •  Responsible to drive operational/logistic excellence within set parameters, providing daily/weekly/monthly reporting along with continuous improvement.

    Maintenance of trucks

    • Ensure all trucks are roadworthy and in good condition for deliveries according to agreed internal parameters and customer expectations escalate.

    Drivers

    • Supervision of all long distant drivers.
    • Ensuring all drivers are trained, and equipped to execute their daily tasks. 
    • Manage all driver communication.          

     Health and Safety

    • Participate in safety forums created by Soill for example safety meetings and safety talks
    •  Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meetings / committees / representatives / management
    •  Report all safety incidents to the relevant people
    • Attend safety education and refresher programmes
    • Comply with safety policies and procedures at Soill
    •  Distribute safety information as and when required
    • Wear protective clothing (where applicable) at all times

    Requirements

    Qualification and Experience

    •  Grade 12
    • Diploma in logistics/ supply chain/ commercial
    •  2 years management and/or supervising experience in similar role
    •  Logistics/sales planner experience (essential)
    •  Excellent computer skills especially Excel and SAP

    Senior Accountant : Operations

    Responsibilities

    •  Develop thorough understanding of market environments and assist with pricing models for both procurement,sales and inventory management.
    •  Price risk management in conjunction with the trading team
    •  Formulation, implementation and monitoring of internal controls and accounting processes
    • Safeguarding company assets such as Inventory and Fixed Assets at the company
    • Reporting on profitability of business products as well as driving optimization of product mix based on the most profitable product lines after all costs have been considered.
    • Involvement / preparation of information to be used in the annual costing cycles, partnering with the Commercial / Operations / Procurement Teams to factor in commodity price and manufacturing changes as well as the reporting on the impact of this.
    •  Drive a culture of high performance and value add within the finance team and wider business, through motivating, inspiring and coaching.
    • Involvement / preparation of deliverables in relation the budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with cross functional stakeholders to improve accuracy and provide early visibility of potential risks and opportunities.
    • Identification and critical review / implementation of measures to reduce redundant costs in the business including a reduction in the working capital cycle.
    • Ensure production cost are correct and reported regularly.
    •  Assist with ad hoc tasks and project.
    • Health and Safety

    Requirements

    Qualification and Experience

    • Bcom Degree or Hons Degree (preferred)
    • Up to date knowledge of IFRS (advantageous)
    • At least 5 years of relevant working experience would be deemed suitable for the level of the position.
    • Experience in a Manufacturing / FMCG environment would be advantageous
    • Experience in Warehouse / inventory management (essential).
