    Management Forester Harvesting- Inkwazi

    As a Management Forester, you will be responsible to:

    • Build, maintain and reinforce a “predict and prevent” safety culture in all integrated operations
    • Inspect operations regularly to identify risks & ensure that timeous action (blanking & pest control, coppice management) is undertaken.
    • Plan & conduct regular field inspections to ensure that crops, through the timing of operations (weed control, pest & disease management), achieve maximum yields within cost constraints.
    • Ensure that plantations use the Fire Risk Management System (FRMS) to identify risks. Record & implement fire control procedures in order to ensure the effective protection of people, plantations and other assets from forest fires.
    • Develop a tactical plan & ensure that the annual plan of operations for both commercial and open areas comply with standards and service level agreements
    • Develop a pre-harvest plan per compartment in collaboration with the Contractor and Silviculture.
    • Conduct a risk assessment per compartment in order to mitigate potential risks.
    • Ensure that the Harvesting budget is managed effectively by ensuring sales target tons/per day is achieved.
    • Compile in conjunction with Roads Engineer, annual tactical road maintenance plan.
    • Scheduling of short-haul and loading operations to ensure rail/road transport is released on time.
    • Ensure that company assets such as buildings, villages and company houses are maintained and managed effectively according to set standards (hygiene & legal compliance) and within budget constraints.
    • Ensure that relations with communities, other internal and external stakeholders are effectively maintained and managed in order to ensure company image is upheld, risks mitigated and relationships enhanced.

    What are we looking for?

    • National Diploma in Forestry or related qualification
    • Minimum of three years relevant experience.
    • Valid driver’s license.

    Administrator COE (Dissolving Pulp)

    As an Administrator, you will be responsible to:  

    • Receive pulp competitor samples and dissolving pulp mill samples, store in the pulp store and enter into the Sample Management system.
    • Issue and receipt of samples to and from laboratory projects . 
    • Compile consumable purchasing requirements weekly based on consumables stock counts and create weekly consumables purchase orders
    • Create notification and purchase requisitions for equipment repair and maintenance requirements
    • Update relevant rosters quarterly; equipment verifications, internal equipment calibrations, chemical preparation and standardisation rosters, housekeeping team rosters
    • Update status of SHEQ related action items e.g. from housekeeping inspections, improvement actions, safety suggestions SHEQ 
    • Coordinate job observation programme, collating and reporting monthly on observations
    • Prepare standard complaint graphs for quarterly CSR reporting, DP Cluster reports and for Saiccor Mill quarterly Site SHEQ meetings 
    • Assist with data downloads and spreadsheet  preparation for customer meetings and technical reviews
    • Coordinate administration functions i.e. ordering of Stationary and PPE requirements, printing of laboratory logbooks, arranging functions (arranging catering, booking venues, travel requirements)

    What are we looking for? 

    • Grade 12 with a Secretarial or Administration Qualification (NQF 4/5) 
    • 3 years  relevant experience within a similar environment
    • Strong computer literacy with competency in Microsoft Office 
    • Working experience with SAP and SharePoint will be considered advantageous

    Storeman

    As a Storeman, you will be responsible for:

    • Raise Safety and BBS observations, in compliance with Stores objectives and targets
    • Actively contribute to SHE talks
    • Raise suggestions on Safety related improvements to maintain a safe working environment
    • Minimize environmental impact by managing the correct disposal of waste and scrap materials
    • Acts as custodian of 5S and housekeeping activities in area of responsibility
    • Receive goods and upon verification with delivery note and purchase order, tag materials and perform GRV (SAP Goods receipts transaction)
    • Issue materials, process picking lists, record and communicate any variances (including physical low stock and out of stock balances)
    • Record bin balance variances while issuing materials
    • Bin materials within agreed timeline and communicate any discrepancies, with respect to storage location, quantity and material specifications
    • Actively manage and escalate goods not timeously binned / collected in Receiving bays
    • Efficiently process materials issuing and receiving to minimise customer waiting time
    • Ensure correct, orderly and timely filing of documents
    • Participate in and ensure accurate stock counts and identify storage location or spares discrepancies
    • As required, assist with spares quality inspection process, including spares transfer to workshop and return and document filing
    • Issue fuel, record the required information in the fuel register and submit to the Stores Administrator for processing
    • Participate in Stores reorganisation and transformation projects (as identified and delegated by Stores leadership team)
    • Assist with materials returned to Stores and materials to be despatched transactions

    What are we looking for?

    • Grade 12 (Maths and Science)
    • 1 year of engineering stores experience

    Fitter and Turner

    As a Fitter and Turner, you will be responsible for:

    • Fit, assemble, grind, machine, and shape metal parts and sub-assemblies to maintain production machines and other equipment.
    • Overhaul mechanical equipment
    • Complete notifications and work orders on the SAP system.
    • Participate in failure analysis
    • Complete daily and weekly inspections on equipment according to a detailed checklist
    • Perform standby and overtime duties as required.
    • Draw spares from Stores using the picking list in SAP
    • Share knowledge with other fitters in the section and in other areas of the plant.
    • Perform quality control inspection on all equipment that must be prepared
    • Machine a variety of equipment and components on the Boring Mill as and when required
    • Understand and comply with the safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ) requirements of the section.
    • Comply and perform tasks as per the organisation's policies, procedures, and best operating practices.
    • Participate in the investigation of SHEQ incidents on request and help to identify root causes for non-conformance.
    • Maintain a high level of housekeeping in the workplace at all times.
    • Report all unsafe acts to the direct supervisor

    What are we looking for? 

    • Grade 12 or N2 Mechanical Engineering Certificate
    • Trade Test Certificate as a Mechanical Fitter and Turner
    • 2 Years Post-Apprenticeship Machining Experience in a Heavy Engineering Environment
    • Valid Driving Licence
