    Sport Technician

     Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) in Sport Science or equivalent
    • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Sport Science.

     Additional Recommendation:

    • The applicant should have a broad knowledge of first-year Sport Science.
    • Good communication and presentation skills
    • Good organizational and planning skills.
    • Ability to work both independently and in a team.
    • Competency in Microsoft Office applications and a strong work ethic.

     Summary of Duties:

    • Performance Analysis: Analyse the athlete’s performance, identifying strengths and weaknesses, and using data to inform training adjustments to coaches and athletes.
    • Training program development: Designing and implementing individualized and team-based training programs based on scientific principles and athlete needs.
    • Data collection and analysis: Utilizing technology and methods to collect and analyse data on athlete physiology, biomechanics, and performance.

    Professor/ Associate Professor/ Senior Lecturer

    Department of Construction Management and Quantity Surveying 

    Minimum Requirements:

     Professor:

    • PhD or equivalent NQF level 10 qualification in the Built Environment, with an undergraduate qualification in construction management, quantity surveying, architecture, or civil engineering.
    • At least 10 years of teaching/professional experience.
    • Evidence of a scholarly track record in the form of international peer-reviewed publications.
    • Evidence of successful postgraduate supervision at Master's and Doctorate levels.
    • Evidence of sustained external funding.

     Associate Professor:

    • PhD or equivalent NQF level 10 qualification in the Built Environment, with an undergraduate qualification in construction management or quantity surveying or architecture, or civil engineering.
    • At least 7 years of teaching/professional experience.
    • Evidence of peer-reviewed publications.
    • Evidence of successful postgraduate supervision.
    • Evidence of external funding.

     Senior Lecturer:

    • PhD or equivalent NQF level 10 qualification in the Built Environment, with an undergraduate qualification in construction management or quantity surveying or architecture, or civil engineering.
    • At least 5 years of teaching/professional experience.
    • Evidence of research and postgraduate supervision.

     Additional Recommendations:

    • Good communication and lecturing skills.
    • A strong passion for teaching and research.
    • Professional registration with SACQSP, or SACPCMP or SACAP or ECSA.
    • Good research track record or relevant research experience, and an ability and desire to advance research development in the department.

     Summary of Duties:

    • Teaching, assessing, and supervision at all levels.
    • Responsible for at least two modules per semester in accordance with fair workload distribution.

    Senior Lecturer: (REF: F648) Public Management, Law and Economics : Riverside

    MINIMUM ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS           

    • PhD and undergraduate qualifications in Public Management/Administration, Local Government, /Supply Chain Management/Public Affairs.
    • At least 5 years lecturing experience of teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
    • At least 4 publications in national and or international DHET-accredited journals within the last 4 years. Evidence of publication including articles or book chapters.
    • Proven experience in the delivery of poster, and or oral presentations at conferences or equivalent activities.
    • Successful supervision of at least one postgraduate student at Masters level.

    SUMMARY OF DUTIES

    • Provide leadership towards the department’s strategic plan on teaching, research and engaged scholarship.
    • Conduct research and publish in high impact DHET-accredited journals.
    • Contribute to teaching undergraduate and postgraduate modules in the department.
    • Supervise Master’s dissertations and PhD theses.

    Technical Assistant

    Minimum requirements 

    • National Diploma within the discipline of dry processing of Textile Technology.
    • B.Tech is the preference.
    • A minimum of 2 years relevant technical/  textile industry experience – e.g., in technology, manufacturing processes. (Textile technology-related teaching or training experience in Higher Education, industry, or training institutions).
    • Sound knowledge of the technical aspects of yarn and fabric manufacturing, product engineering, including but not limited to fabric construction, quality, and raw materials.
    • Understanding of all equipment and systems in the above-related laboratories.
    • Sound communication skills –use of MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

    • Oversee inventory control and equipment management to ensure efficient stock levels.
    • Support budget preparation for consumables and equipment needs.
    • Perform administrative duties, engage in community initiatives, and contribute to third-stream income activities as assigned by the Head of Department.
