KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Digital Media: content creation, design and publishing
- Responsible for the execution of digital campaigns.
- Responsible for the digital media platforms in terms of marketing, corporate and stakeholder communication
- Ensure that the University's brand strategy is applied to all digital platforms.
- Help to identify brand ambassadors on the different campuses and support the campaigns that result from this.
- Support senior digital marketers in digital advertising campaigns.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends and layouts on different media.
- Sound knowledge of software and relevant content management systems.
Monitoring and engagement
- Monitor official NWU social media platforms daily.
- Monitor the NWU Brand on various social media platforms with monitoring tools.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Teaching and learning at the undergraduate level, including supervision of LLB dissertations. Involvement at Post graduate level including supervision, critical reading, examination, moderation and any other responsibility as required.

- An LL D in any field in law or a PhD/DPhil in Law (NQF level 10); or LL M (NQF level 9) in any field of law with practical legal experience of at least 5 years in private practice or 7 years in public prosecution

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaching and Learning:
- Teach English Literature modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. These include early modern literature, 19th century literature, Literary theories, African literature and contemporary literature.
- Team teaching, student evaluations, assignments, tests and examinations, supervision of postgraduates
- Be able to teach different genres of literature (poetry, drama, fiction and film) at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Complete related administrative tasks, such as submitting marks and monitoring student progress.
- Set tests and examinations, as well as mark assessments.
- Hold office hours for consultations with students.
- Attend meetings (with the subject group, teaching team, and/or module tutors).
- Act as module convenor across the three NWU sites.

Research:

Minimum requirements
- A PhD (NQF level 10) in English Literature and/or Literary Studies.
- A minimum of 6 years’ work experience and a proven track record of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching at university level.
- A minimum of seven (6) years’ teaching experience in the different genres of Literature (Poetry, Drama, Fiction and Film) as well as Varieties of Literature i.e 19th Century literature, Literary Theory, Contemporary literature, African literature.
- Active involvement in research, as evidenced by a number of publications in accredited journals commensurate with the level of a full professor.
- Proven experience in the presentation of papers/ posters at national and/ or international scholarly conferences.
- Applicant should be active in community engagement projects.
- Experience with postgraduate supervision.
- Have good knowledge of variety of literatures from early modern to contemporary literature i.e African, world and contemporary literatures of the Global South.
