    Scrum Master

    What will you do?

    You will be responsible for the overseeing and providing guidance to the scrum teams in BI, Analytics and Digital environment. The additional responsibilities will include but not limited to: 

    • Ensuring that development teams follow scrum framework values and agile practices

    • Mentoring and motivating the teams to improve processes, facilitating meetings and decision-making processes, and eliminating team impediments.

    • The Scrum Master will be considered a subject-matter expert, have excellent logic and problem solving skills and a drive to make a difference. They will be responsible for enforcing the rules of Scrum, removing impediments from their team while promoting self-management and constantly improving our standards of work.

    Main responsibilities:

    • Establishes and manages team cadence throughout delivery lifecycle, facilitation of all scrum ceremonies

    • Ensure the development teams are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility. 

    • Stakeholder management and playback, including product owners, executive sponsors and other external teams

    • Work closely with leadership to define product and establish product backlog. Owns delivery roadmap.

    • Support execution team with resolution of roadblocks and interdependencies, managing risks and issues.

    • Assist with bedding down BI capability operating model (People and process)

    • Using agile methodology values, principles, and practices to plan, manage, and deliver solutions. 

    • Training, mentoring, and supporting scrum teams to follow agile values, principles, and practices. 

    • Determining and managing tasks, issues, risks, and action items. 

    • Manage each project’s scope and timeline 

    • Coordinate sprints, retrospective meetings and daily stand-ups 

    • Ensure deliverables are up to quality standards at the end of each sprint 

    • Scheduling and facilitating scrum events, meetings, and decision-making processes. 

    • Monitoring progress and performance and helping teams to make improvements. 

    • Planning and organizing demos and product/system testing. 

    • Ensuring the proper use of collaborative processes and removing impediments for the scrum team. 

    • Tracking project processes, deliverables, and financials. 

    • Be the point of contact for external communications as well as prepare and present status reports to stakeholders.

    • Coach team members in Agile frameworks 

    • Facilitate internal communication and effective collaboration 

    • Work with product owners to handle backlogs and new requests 

    • Help teams implement changes effectively 

    • Guide development teams to higher scrum maturity 

    What will make you successful in this role?

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a relevant field preferred. 

    • Certified Scrum Master 

    • 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar role. 

    • Excellent knowledge of Scrum techniques and artefacts (such as definition of done, user stories, automated testing, backlog refinement)

    • Working knowledge of agile methodology, techniques, and frameworks, such as Scrum or Kanban etc.  to deliver solutions would be essential 

    • Leadership and management experience. Excellent people and project management skills. 

    • Strong communication and presentation skills. 

    • Strong analytical, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.

    • Knowledge of various toolsets such as SAP Hana Studio, SAP Data Services, Informatica Data Quality Suite, Cloudera big data storage and Microsoft Power BI will be advantageous.

    • Experience in a Dev Ops environment and leading the development automation 

    • Hands-on experience with software delivery life cycle and Agile/Scrum delivery management

    • Experience in project management/Team lead roles mandatory.

    • Experience in delivering BI products preferable

    • Degree with 5 to 6 years related experience.

    Analyst Developer

    What will you do?

    • Analysis of change requests received.

    • Provide recommendations and cost / man-day estimates for implementing changes.

    • Design prototypes for change requests.

    • Design Web Interfaces (graphic design) if applicable.

    • Maintain existing programmes according to change requests.

    • Produce appropriate software programs that satisfy the specifications.

    • Test own programs / artefacts to ensure correctness.

    • Test Interfaces to other systems.

    • Debugging of programs.

    • Provide test information to Testers.

    • Implement changes into the Production environment.

    • Document changes implemented and programs.

    • Updates of data model documentation.

    • Problem solving, root cause analysis and user assistance (functional).

    • Technical support / assistance to others on own programs / systems.

    • Provision of user guides / training material.

    • Provide hands-on training for own system.

    • Provide standby / support (if and when applicable).

    • Correct errors / bugs in production.

    What will make you successful in this role?

     

    Qualifications:

    • Relevant IT Qualifications (degree or diploma) 

    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience within application development 

     

    Experience:

    • Proven record of exceptional work performance

    • Experience with Agile methodologies will be a strong recommendation


    Knowledge:

    • Understanding of the SDLC Methodology 

    • Understanding of Microsoft C# in the context of the Microsoft.NET framework

    • Basic understanding of UML (Class, Activity, Entity Relation Diagrams, etc.)

    • Understanding of OO concepts, design principles and patterns

    • Good knowledge of the following technologies will be a strong recommendation:

    •    .NET C#, ASP.NET/CORE
    •    MVC, WCF/SOAP, LinQ
    •    HTML, CSS, XML
    •    JavaScript/ Ajax, JQuery, Json
    •    SOA
    •    SQL and /or Express
    •    Angular 2 and above

    • Understand XML, XSD, HTTP and SOAP protocols

    Business Analyst

    What will you do?

    The Business Analyst’s primary role is helping businesses implement technology solutions (in the RA SanlamConnect Support environment) in a cost-effective way by determining the requirements of a project or program, and communicating them clearly to all stakeholders, facilitators, and partners.  This will include defining, analysing and documenting requirements; managing requirements at the project level, leads to fulfilling business needs, liaising with all impacted stakeholders, testing the changes and managing the implementation/release of the new solutions back into the business environment. The Business Analysts also use requirements to drive the design or review of test cases, process change requests.

    What will make you successful in this role?

     

    Defining, analysing, documenting, and managing requests

    • Identify & define business requirements for new business models or changes to existing models

    • Produce BRS/Functional Specification

    • Analyse, design & define new business processes or changes to existing processes

    • Define and document requirements in the Interface Document for technical solutions between source system(s) and CMS/KOM/SANPAY systems  

    • Participate in transitioning the requirements & use cases to Systems Analysts, Developers to ensure a clear & complete understanding of what is required

    • Review test approach & test cases to ensure coverage of relevant business scenarios, use cases and functionality defined

    • Participate in testing to ensure that business requirements have been met

    • Ensure integration of changes into process environment 

    • Give input to finalize scope of releases and confirm tasks for link to production

     

    Ongoing support query resolution, reporting 

    • Respond to and assist clients and stakeholders with any ad-hoc and ongoing queries and support that they may have regarding changes, systems errors etc.

    • Provide guidance & expert advice and information from data sources 

    Qualification and experience

    • Grade 12 (matric) or equivalent qualification

    • A related qualification will be advantageous

    • Business Analyst and/or Test Analyst experience both in process and systems application (commission and intermediary)

    • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in testing in Financial Services

    Knowledge and skills

    • Experience and knowledge of administration and remuneration of intermediaries within the Life assurance industry would be advantageous

    • Knowledge of SDLC (Systems Development Life Cycle) process in IT/new WOW
