Purpose of Role:

• A shift leader will manage day-to-day KPI’s in order to ensure that all KPI’s are achieved within the target date. This role also ensures that all safety compliance is adhered to at all times. They are responsible for coordinating and controlling production administrative system in accordance with relevant policies, procedures and statutory regulations/legislation.

• 8,2 (i)/ legal responsibilities: Responsibility for all safety requirements and plant legal. Adhere to Duty of Care policy.  Manage safety and housekeeping in compliance with company and OHS act requirements. Co-ordinate and control production administrative system in accordance with relevant policies, procedures, any statutory regulations / legislation. Adherence to all statutory HSE and housekeeping / 5S requirements
• Manage Cost & Production: Manage daily line output, determine root causes and countermeasures on misses. Liaise with costing and planning on daily plant run rates. Liaise with material coordinator to manage daily expenses and cost increases/reductions.
• Planned Maintenance:  Liaise with asset planner on scheduled equipment tasks. Equipment OEE.
• Quality Assurance: Demonstrate 100% commitment towards zero defects and process improvements. Use 5-Why’s and A3 tools for scrap countermeasures and preventative measurements.
• Implementation of sustainable systems to control daily targets and outputs: Use of velocity reports to manage lead time and aging. Use of OTD reports to manage delivery. Use of availability reports to manage delivery.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications: 

• Matric (Grade 12) or N3 certificate or equivalent
• 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment (in a supervisory role)
• Administrative experience in the manufacturing industry (pump/process manufacturing environment would be an advantage)
• Exposure to and implementation of lean manufacturing
• Implementation and maintenance of the OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 standards

Minimum Qualifications:

• Qualified CA

Minimum Experience:     

• At least 5 years related experience post articles in a similar function
• 2 Years Experience in managing people
• ERP system experience (preferably LN BAAN)

SAP experience

• Computer literacy (MS Office Suite) – excellent working knowledge of Excel

Purpose of Role: 

• The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in carrying out repairs and maintenance on Weir equipment on customer sites and in the Service Centre workshop. This is a 3 months' fixed term contract.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.  Adhere to all Safety Health Environment (SHE) and housekeeping requirements at the branch and customer sites at all times.  Adhere to Duty of Care Policy at all times.  Keep contract packs up to date.
• Service: Carry out maintenance, repairs, inspections and overhauling on Weir Minerals equipment on customer sites and in the service centre. Installation and commissioning of pumps and other Weir Minerals products.  Demonstrate a strong technical understanding, trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills.
• Customer support: Provide a high-level of service repair work on service contracts.  Prepare and submit field service reports after completion.  Assist with training of mine personnel or Weir staff.  Offer new products and value adding solutions to contracts. 
• Business growth: Increase Services revenue by identifying new opportunities on customer sites.
• Reporting: Submit monthly reports on consumption of spares, pump performance history and equipment performance on customer sites.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications: 

• Grade 12 or N3 Certificate or equivalent
• Qualified: Fitter / Fitter & Turner / Millwright (Verified Section 13 / 26D qualification)
• Valid driver’s licence
• Computer literate – Microsoft Office suite
• 2-4 years’ maintenance experience in minerals processing plants
• Knowledge of the Mine, Health & Safety Act

Dismantling of pumps and bearing assemblies.  Load and unload trucks and assist with delivery of spares when required.
• Customer support:  Ability to identify solutions to improve equipment or processes on and off sites

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications: 

• Grade 12 / N3 Certificate or any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates that have the ability to perform the objectives above
• Technical knowledge/experience in minerals processing plants will be advantageous

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and conduct product installations, commissioning of new equipment and maintenance
• Carry out equipment inspections and provide the required feedback / reports to customers and internal stakeholders
• Support clients by conducting regular meetings with maintenance teams, troubleshooting and providing solutions with the input of the client and Support Services Team.
