    Legal Advisor (Central Office Hatfield)

    Drafting/ Reviewing/ Vetting Agreements

    • Draft, vet, analyse and review contracts.                  
    • Review and update contract templates.                    
    • Timeously attend to service requests and submissions.            

    Legal Advice to ARC user Departments

    • Providing written legal advice and support to internal stakeholders as and when required.
    • Provide urgent comments, opinion and/ or support on latest legal developments affecting or having an impact on the business of the ARC.

    Assist with Litigation Management

    • Provide support regarding litigation for and against ARC.                
    • Providing support in the management of disputes prelitigation and avoiding costly litigation proceedings.

    Requirements

    • Proficiency in Ms Office suite.
    • Problem-solving, analytical skills and knowledge of the industry within which the ARC operates.

    Researcher – Taxonomist Medicinal Plants (Three (3) Years Fixed Term Contract) (Roodeplaat)

    Description

    • Initiating research, including conducting taxonomic and systematics research.
    • Identifying, describing, and classifying medicinal plants using established taxonomic criteria.
    • Developing and maintaining databases of medicinal plant specimens and associated taxonomic information.
    • Developing and maintaining taxonomic keys for species identification.
    • Writing and publishing scientific papers, reports, and other scholarly outputs.
    • Managing resources including equipment and research materials, human resources and finances.
    • Supporting strategic research collaboration and collaboration opportunities; these include.
    • Presenting at national and international conferences, workshops.

    Requirements

    • PhD and experience of research on master's level of at least 3 years, in Botany, Plant Taxonomy, or related discipline,
    • At least 3 years’ experience in a relevant scientific research environment, post MSc with a national record of accomplishment at the level of a researcher focused on plant identification, herbarium work, and botanical fieldwork.
    • Minimum 3-5 peer reviewed publications.
    • Knowledge of regional flora.
    • Familiarity with taxonomic tools, databases (e.g., BRAHMS, GBIF), and botanical nomenclature rules (ICN).
    • Good communication skills, verbal and written.
    • Proficiency in the MS Office suite.
    • Registration with a scientific and professional body will be an added advantage.
    • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.

    Description

    Systems Administrator Support: ICT (Silverton)

    Description

    • Installation and maintenance of ICT hardware maintain asset database, installation of legal, licensed software and approved network equipment.
    • Installing Software upgrades and providing user support on software where possible.
    • Consult, advice, and support where possible on use and/or installation of specialized software, hardware, and intelligent devices.
    • Maintaining security of the network and applications.
    • Consult with ICT Senior System Administrator, ICT Service Delivery Manager or CO Engineers where required to ensure information systems operate effectively.
    • Performing backups in line with DRP, BCP and Backup and Restoration policies.
    • Provide first- and second-line support to end users as per Ivanti incident management system.
    • Maintain good relationships with end users and management in the absence of an ICT Senior System Administrator.

    • Maintain hardware and software asset register and ensure effective lifecycle planning processes. Maintain specialized software maintenance/annual licensing.
    • Ensure physical security of all computer equipment.
    • Ensure required asset documentation for each insured asset device is completed, signed, and filed.
    • Determining client’s computer needs and requirements on a continuous basis and plan service accordingly in the absence of an ICT Senior System Administrator.
    • Ensure that telecommunications infrastructure is installed and maintained at optimal level.
    • Ensure that telephone reports accounts are delivered in accordance with institute requirements.
    • Taking part in Institute ICT management through reporting to the internal Institute ICT Committee and report monthly to the ICT Service Delivery Manager in absence of an ICT Senior System Administrator.
    • Act, in liaison with the ICT Service Delivery Manager, as contact between the Institute’s and external Service Providers in the absence of an ICT Senior System Administrator.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma in Information Technology or Computer Science.
    • 5 years’ experience in an Information Technology field.
    • Microsoft certification will be an advantage.
    • ITIL certification will be advantageous.
    • Good knowledge of ICT principles and financial policies and procedures.
    • Knowledge of Computer hardware and software.
    • High-level ability to work independently.
    • Good communication verbal and written skills.

    Researcher: Water Quality (Chemistry & Amp; Data Analysis) (Pretoria)

    Description

    • Conduct advanced research in water chemistry with a focus on agricultural and environmental applications.
    • Develop and validate analytical methods for water quality assessment.
    • Lead and contribute to national and international research projects.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 (or equivalent NQF 4) with 6 years relevant experience in Analytical Chemistry or Food Science and currently studying towards a diploma/degree with 2 years theory & the progress report.
    • A diploma or degree in Analytical Chemistry or Food Science will be an added advantage.
    • Good conceptual, analytical, and writing skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure.
