    Customer Executive

    Job Description

    • We believe that the CUSTOMER is at the heart of our business, and we are looking for a CUSTOMER EXECUTIVE to effectively manage a top end retail customer within RCL Foods. This role involves leveraging customer insights and strategy to ensure effective account management and customer relationship management, ultimately achieving customer and channel objectives. In addition, develop business relationships by contracting new customers and expanding volumes/products with existing customers. The role will be based in Durban. 

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Post graduate BCom degree or relevant.
    • Valid Code EB drivers’ license
    • 10 years' experience in a marketing and sales function that includes managing complex and/or significant customer relationships and key/national accounts with at least 5 years in a management role within an FMCG environment.
    • Strong Commercial and Supply Chain experience

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Channel Strategy Formulation and Implementation

    • Formulate short and long-term channel strategies to deliver sustainable, profitable growth by key customers and prioritize services and initiatives by customer within the channel on the basis of demand.
    • Determine the tone and direction the team takes with customers and work with cross functional teams to ensure alignment with supply chain initiatives.
    • Monitor competitors, formulate proactive responses when required and perform an analysis.
    • Manage key accounts at a strategic level and develop relationships that enable the achievement of channel plans.

    Principal Market and Customer Insight Maintenance

    • Research and analyse environmental and competitive conditions and customer needs.
    • Analyse and track market, customer and channel trends and in-market measures at customer and channel level.
    • Act as the Principal expert, understanding what drives service needs and customer behaviour.

    Strategic Account Management

    • Ensure that all accounts are profitably serviced for the company to achieve sales and revenue goals and leverage current alliances and customer relationships to further expand business development opportunities.
    • Analyse sales statistics to determine business growth potential.
    • Plot annual and long term objectives for accounts and ensure all volume and ‘basket’ and revenue targets are met.
    • Facilitate the communication of a customer perspective to ensure that customer expectations are met.

    Customer Relationship Management

    • Manage all aspects of account profiles and ensure that customers have up to date knowledge of trends and performance statistics.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders in the market.
    • Manage the presentations to and negotiation with key accounts.

    Channel Planning and Execution

    • Lead the channel management planning process and performance reviews to create customer-specific priorities and plans.
    • Understand key drivers of profit and loss and actively support the achievement of financial targets including driving profitable service options at the channel or customer level, maximizing profitability, and identifying business opportunities.

    Organizational Efficiency

    • Implement and simplify appropriate business processes to increase organizational effectiveness and efficiency in support of key account requirements.
    • Support corporate strategy alignment and business update meetings.

    Staff Management

    • Manage staff activities, ensuring service levels are met and coach and support staff to achieve objectives.
    • Manage and deliver on succession plans to enable development of a future generation of leaders and specialists.
    • Champion staff training and development and conduct regular performance appraisals with subordinates.
    • Drive employment equity within the team.

    Mechanical Engineer - Back End

    • Are you a passionate and skilled Mechanical Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity in the sugar industry? We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team at Komati Mill as a Mechanical Engineer for the Back End. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient and effective maintenance of our plant and equipment, contributing to the optimum operation of the mill.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Education: BTech/BSc/BEng in Mechanical Engineering.
    • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in engineering, with prior experience in the sugar industry managing Back End, Boilers, Turbines, or Front End.
    • Skills: Computer literacy is essential. Knowledge of maintenance schedules, inspection, SHE procedures, and budget and cost control.
    • Certifications: Government Certificate of Competency for Factories (GCC) and 10-week SMRI certificate are advantageous.
    • Legislation Knowledge: Working knowledge of the OHS Act and other relevant engineering legislations.
    • Professional Registration: Registration as a Professional in terms of the Engineering Professionals of South Africa Act, 114 of 1990, is an added advantage.
    • Availability: Prepared to work standby and unplanned overtime.

    • Engineering Maintenance: Manage and oversee the maintenance of plant and equipment to ensure safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
    • Quality Assurance: Ensure all maintenance work complies with mill specifications and established engineering standards.
    • Budget Management: Compile and control expenditure on maintenance, materials, employment, and capital budgets.
    • Project Management: Conceptualize, develop, and deliver capital expenditure projects.
    • Maintenance Planning: Develop maintenance plans for the season, off-crop periods, and short and long stops to maximize Overall Time Efficiency (OTE).
    • Cane Throughput Optimization: Work with cane supply departments to maximize or optimize cane throughput and minimize losses.
    • Engineering Practices: Develop and uphold sound engineering and maintenance management practices and procedures.
    • Capital Improvement: Develop and manage capital improvement plans and various projects within the plant.
    • Performance Management: Coach and develop employees, ensuring high performance and adherence to safety standards.
    • Accident Investigation: Report and investigate accidents and incidents, implementing preventative measures.
    • Housekeeping and Safety: Maintain high-quality work standards and good housekeeping, complying with safety standards and requirements.

    Job Description

    • To Ensure effective intake of Raw Materials and processing of all intake documents.  Implement and maintain all SHEQ policies and training.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Grade 12 
    • Understanding of inward logistics and raw material handling
    • Experience as a forklift driver and/or with a licence
    • Knowledge of Syspro/SAP/ MS Office

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Daily stock count to be done on all bulk raw materials and by-products, counts to be captured and communicated to management
    • Intake register to be completed of all incoming and outgoing loads and communicated to management
    • Printing and recording of all loading documents
    • Daily processing of all documents for loads received
    • Daily GRN’s to be done on System for loads received 
    • Processing of staff time sheets and submitting for sign off
    • Load leave workflows and submit for approval
    • Conduct SHEQ training (toolbox talks) and submit training registers to relevant departments
    • Manage all assets, inspect and monitor safe usage and that no equipment is misused
    • Maintain records of inspections done
    • Monthly SHE inspections to be done and signed off
    • GMP audit findings investigations and closing of findings
    • Implementation and training of all policies and procedures
    • Update notice boards with policy changes, new policies and regulation information as well as additional informational content
    • Raise job cards on system for maintenance requirements
    • Raise non-conformances on system as and when required
    • Reorder PPE in line with annual requirements and when required
    • Ensure Office equipment, canteen and change rooms requirements are sufficient and reorder as required
    • Complete requisitions and ensure orders are placed for all intake requirements (such as tea and coffee, stationary etc)

    Maintenance Artisan

    Job Description    

    • RCL FOODS is looking for an energetic, hardworking individual to join their maintenance team. The primary function of Maintenance Assistant is to assist with the maintenance of plant and buildings maintaining a high level of hygiene, cleanliness quality and service. Maintenance services include but are not limited to the servicing and maintenance of Macinery equipment, welding, fabrication, pneumatics and hydraulics.

    Minimum Requirements    
    Education

    • Grade 12
    • N3-N4  preferably Mechanical / Electrical 

    Skills

    • Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in english, good numeracy
    • Able to work minimal supervision
    • Mechanical and Electrical skills

    Experince

    • 2 Years maintenance experince, prefably in the baking or food manufacturing industry, more on the electrical side.

    General

    • Expected to work over weekends and public holidays
    • Expected to work overtime as required
    • Expected to be on standby and to come in to attend to breakdowns
    • Own transport essential for call outs

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Key Resposibilities

    • Conduct daily checks on machinery, recording and faults on the checklist and submit to maintenance supervisor
    • Practice health and safety and food safety procedures at all time and adherence to lock out systems
    • Ensure jobs allocated on the planned schedule to Maintenance Supervisor
    • Report to breakdown immediately and work safely within the acceptable time frame to repair the machine
    • Delegate task to maintenance assistants and follow up to ensure task are completed within acceptable time frame
    • Complete daily/weekly/monthly checklists and report faults to Maintenance Supervisor

    • Who will ensure effective intake of Raw Materials.  Ensure site is cleaned daily and Maintain site GMP.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Grade 12.

    • Understanding of inward logistics and raw material handling.
    • Experience as a forklift driver and/or with a licence beneficial.
    • Proven working experience in a supervisory position beneficial.

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Responsible for offloading and problem solving with regards to raw material and report all deviations to the Raw material coordinator
    • Safe storage and handling of raw material at offloading point and in warehouses
    • Ensure safe offloading from clean and hygienic trucks of received raw materials
    • Liaising with plant managers with regards to raw material movements onsite
    • Ensure all internal stock movement is done on time and efficiently
    • Obtain and maintain housekeeping standards and ensure that SHEQ requirements are adhered to.
    • Collecting of by-products 
    • Loading of by-products and waste products
    • Assist the laboratory with raw material sampling
    • Ensure all vehicles are sampled and approved
    • Assist the Raw Material Team with stock taking
    • Manage the loading / off-loading team and ensure correct action is taken in-line with company policies 
    • Manage cleaning teams including interwaste
    • Ensure site cleanliness is maintained daily and throughout the day
    • Ensure all waste products are removed daily
    • Vehicle inspections to be done daily
    • Intake area and waste storage areas to be inspected daily
    • Communicate leave and overtime requirements to Raw material coordinator
