    Lab Technician (Micro)

    Key Roles and Responsibilities:

    Specialist Analysis:

    • Carry out specialised micro analysis according to standard and the minimum micro sampling plan. Ensure traceability of results and record on appropriate information systems
    • Communicate results clearly and timeously to production teams and stakeholders
    • Conduct ad hoc analysis to assist with problem solving
    • Provide production with good quality, yeast for propagation free of contaminants
    • Management and execution of basic maintenance and calibration schedules on test equipment

    Quality Auditing:

    • Conduct required and requested quality audits, completing the appropriate documentation and communicating the results
    • Review quality analysis procedures for updates when required
    • Where required, initiate corrective actions to close gaps generated by audits

    Problem Solving:

    • Support production teams in problem solving by providing specialist knowledge on micro sampling and techniques
    • Lead, facilitate or take part in problem solving sessions as a functional expert when required

    Training:

    • Assist in training, coaching and mentoring of plant personnel on good hygiene practices
    • Take part in the development of training material
    • Complete the competency guide for the micro lab technician role

    Continuous Improvement:

    • Carry out specialised analyses in support of the evaluation of continuous improvement opportunities
    • Where required, take part in team evaluations of continuous improvement opportunities
    • Take part in regional and divisional process optimisation initiatives as required
    • Drive the Quality VPO through adhering to the minimum micro sampling plan and standards
    • Support the production teams with problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives
    • Traceability of samples and accuracy results when reporting to production teams
    • Effectively communicating with all levels of the business and follow up when necessary
    • Working timeously and managing individual workloads effectively to ensure sample frequencies are met

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Microbiology/Bio-Chemistry Diploma/degree
    • Biotechnology Diploma/degree
    • Food Technology Diploma/degree
    • 2 Years experience in the Food Industry and in a micro laboratory environment is ideal
    • Packaging and/or Brewing experience is preferable
    • Knowledge of SAP PDM, Microsoft Office packages and LIMS will be an advantage
    • May be called on to work overtime as required

    BDR 2 - SAB Bloemfontein Depot

    Key Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Achieve sales targets for assigned areas.
    • Manage and supervise Distributors of assigned sector (orders, payment, re-distribution.
    • Ensure IB products are available in reasonable stock (complete range) in the customers and retail outlets.

    Key Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Sampling is carried out as per manualised methods
    • Relevant apparatus, equipment and reagents are prepared as per manualised method

    Packaging Unit Manager - Alrode Brewery

    Key Roles and Responsibilities:

    Packaged Volumes:

    • Ensure that hl. packed by brand/pack are in accordance with plan
    • Supply full beer to warehouse and agree on stock numbers
    • Maintain/increase number of hl packed per day in accordance with plan and laid down factory efficiency standards​

    Glass Analyst

    Key Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Weekly update & review of 13 weeks glass plans and actively communicate any risks or opportunities in S&OE (internally + externally with supplier).
    • Ensure alignment between WSNP plan and supplier with 13 week and  long-term requirement in NRB glass.  (Supplier S&OE)
    • Analyse the container performance metrics to ensure optimal container population utilisation (within the 13week plan + Cona plan)
    • LCP requirements for MRP and Retpack and other LCP blocks part of the team
    • Weekly circular packaging actual inventory tracking and monitoring; including blocked containers.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Preferred Candidate should have a tertiary qualification in an analytical field

    • Proficiency in MS Excel is required.
    • An inclination towards the quantitative disciplines of mathematics, statistics and economics would be advantageous

    Senior Barley Quality Technician

    Key Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Barley grading across the process from pre-harvest, intake, composite, transfer and LTS outloading and quality monitoring.
    • Execute food safety compliance testing (collecting/compiling sample sets/liaising with third party laboratories to conduct analysis and securing reports, communicating results to stakeholders)
    • Support pre-harvest process compliance by storage partners and Barley quality team: ensuring equipment calibration, grader certification and ring test analysis is conducted internally.
    • Manage/execute ad hoc refresher training by barley quality team with storage partners on specific parameters identified as risk pre-harvest, to reduce rejections at mill door.
    • Track and report progress on analysis vs requirements and communicating status of crop analysis effectively to relevant stakeholders.  
    • Track disputes between Maltings and storage partners when applicable or disputes between barley quality team and storage partners and communicate outcomes.
    • Track rejections and conducting problem solving for barley rejections along with the Barley Quality Specialist.
    • Support closure of improvement actions plans for rejections.
    • Support heatmap data management through ensuring all relevant data is captured and reviewed weekly (temp monitoring data/fumigation compliance data etc) for accurate risk allocation.
    • Ensure all analysis data is updated and available for VOPs weekly reviews and approval to order or reject stock and capturing decision on heatmaps.
    • Execute depot visits, reporting findings and tracking action plan via weekly engagements with storage partners.
    • Supports gap closure on storage facility compliance to operational standards through weekly storage partner engagements.
    • Support storage partner compliance to contractual agreements and storage practices through monthly depot visits, inspections and ad hoc visits for DMR investigations.
    • Executes DMR investigations from VOPs with storage partners, report findings and support action plan closure.
    • Manage laboratory consumable stock (Track and monitor stock levels, Raise POs/liaise with suppliers).
    • Manage laboratory equipment maintenance through timeous calibration, maintenance and inspections of equipment.
    • Support planning and execution of ad hoc trial or research project analysis and data reporting.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Food science or related tertiary qualification
    • Data: Statistical analysis and evaluation/data interpretation capability.
    • Experience with working in multi-disciplinary teams is critical.

    Inventory Analyst - SAB Potchefstroom Depot

    Key roles and responsibilities: .

    FG Quality Management

    • FG Inventory quality fundamental standards are adhered to as per DPO & VPO requirements
    • FG Inventory accurately blocked in SAP with physical blocking mechanism in place as per VPO/DPO standards for quality related & obsolescence stock
    • Ensure compliance to the freshness & rotation policy as per VPO & DPO standards
    • Inventory count are recorded accurately with quantities & BBD x SKU& bin cards clearly displayed as per DPO & VPO standards
    • Inventory concession policy applied & approved as per VPO product age standards
    • FG Inventory accurately blocked in SAP with physical blocking mechanism in place as per VPO/DPO standards for quality related & obsolescence stock
    • All FG salvages are re-packed as per VPO & DPO standards
    • All obsolescence stock are decanted as per standard policy & procedure

    Inventory Management

    • Independent inventory counts conducted on all returnable containers & reconciled to SAP inventory
    • Inventory count differences identified, investigated, resolved & reported un-resolved
    • Inventory count differences escalated to BLM / DCLM & RLM with commentary & action plans
    • All physical movements of containers are transacted in SAP accurately
    • T1 & T2 movements, Packaging receipts validated by line counters, write-off's are verified against signed-off documentation & gate sheets
    • Breakages, Obsolescence & salvages stock are signed-off & processed in SAP accurately
    • All open shipments for T1 & T2 are reviewed & resolved
    • All container claims are processed timeously with signed-off backup documentation & SAB re-imbursed
    • POC & T2 driver route settlement corrections reviewed, approved & signed-off
    • SCO BUD vs ACT costs are monitored with gaps & action plans report

    Governance and Risk

    • All Documentation signed-off by relevant persons, filed & securely stored as per Inventory Control Policy – Inventory stock packs, T1 & T2 shipment packs, gate register, etc
    • Security cameras in key points on site & random verification conducted
    • 3 Point independent checks are conducted on all T1 & T2 shipments for departure & arrival

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in finance, Engineering, Commercial, Supply Chain, Logistics or Sciences
    • 2-3 years’ experience in a Stock Control environment
    • MS Office proficiency

    • Build an end-to-end change strategy, aligned to the ABInBev change management methodology, to meet the project objectives including a milestone flight plan.
