    Project Coordinator

    Responsibilities

    • Contributes to and reviews the project proposal and/or consolidated plan to determine timeframe, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project.  
    • Defines/designs activities, starting from existing solutions.  
    • Provides the interface and maintains a confident relationship with other contributors to the project. 
    • Contributes to setting project evaluation parameters.  
    • Negotiates minor changes to project scope or specification with the project sponsor/customer.  
    • Interacts with the project sponsor/customer at a tactical level.  
    • Regularly reviews and reports project progress to senior management and/or the sponsor/customer.  
    • May manage relationships with external suppliers at a tactical level. 
    • Solves problems requiring investigation and interpretation 
    • Conducts kick off meetings and work initiation processes 
    • Attends customer meetings and assists with determination of project requirements  
    • Assists in the drafting and issuance of project proposals, tenders, budgets, cash flow, plans, procedures and preliminary schedules 
    • Prepares project organization charts 
    • Chairs progress/site/closeout meetings as appropriate and distribute minutes to all project team members 
    • Tracks the progress and quality of work being performed by project team members, assuring outputs meet quality standards and capturing lessons learned  
    • Uses project scheduling and control tools to monitor project plans, work hours, budgets and expenditures 
    • Effectively and accurately communicates relevant project information to the customer and project team 
    • Assists in the review of Contractor quotations 
    • Keeps the Project Sponsor/Customer and other stakeholders informed about project status and issues that may impact customer relations, flagging early signs of schedule or budget slippage in order to agree corrective actions. 
    • Anticipates and takes pre-emptive action to address potential conflict situations that may impact on project delivery 

    Qualifications:  

    • Typically requires University degree in relevant technical discipline or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience 

    Knowledge, skills and experience: 

    • Typically requires 3-8 years in a project delivery environment and have gained; 
    • An understanding of metrics and data collection and analysis methods as well as business awareness and ability to develop relationships across the project team to facilitate data collection.

    Graduate Piping Engineer

    KEY AUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Responsible for ensuring the mechanical integrity and code compliance of all piping designs on assigned projects.
    • Prepare project specific standards and job notes.
    • Prepare requisition index for special piping items, indicating planned issue date for each requisition and update monthly.
    • Prepare general notes requisitions or purchasing requirements for piping.
    • Update pipe stress index on a monthly basis.
    • Review flowsheets for correctness of depicting piping and material.
    • Design and requisition piping special piping items.
    • Ensure the technical accuracy of specifications within the 3D design system and maintain relevant reference data, as required.
    • Prepare support sketches for the drawing office.
    • Prepare and check piping bulk requisitions in conjunction with the MTO group.
    • Review all piping drawings and ensure that the quality of design and drawings produced for enquiry and fabrication purposes is of satisfactory standard.
    • Prepare technical bid analysis for special piping items.
    • Prepare and check piping bulk technical evaluations from the MTO group.
    • Attend co-ordination meetings and engineering review meetings with suppliers as required.
    • Review document requirements and issue dates for major equipment with suppliers and assist Procurement Department in compiling a Suppliers' Document Index.
    • Assist Procurement Department with the expediting of supplier documents.
    • Review supplier documents for piping and distribute.
    • Give guidance to Client, Project Engineers, other Specialist Engineers and Inspectors on piping engineering matters.  Review piping aspects of package unit suppliers' drawings, as requested by the Engineer responsible for the equipment.
    • Advise the Principal/Senior Piping Engineer of any slippages and their causes and proposed corrective action.
    • Advise the Principal / Senior Piping Engineer of any technical problems and unresolved differences with other groups.
    • Co-ordinate with Procurement Department and ensure that certified drawings are available in time to meet the engineering schedules.
    • Notify the Project Engineer of all deficiencies in the flow of data or other basic information required for execution of work.
    • Assist the Principal/Senior Piping Engineer with the monthly progress reports.
    • Follow up piping construction work on projects sites to ensure correct interpretation of designs regarding installation.  Resolve any piping problems arising during commissioning.
    • Keep abreast of developments in the piping engineering field.
    • Suggest ways to improve efficiency, costs and service in the execution of projects.
    • Assist where necessary in the compilation of operating manuals and mechanical catalogues.
    • Perform any other duties assigned by the Principal/Senior Piping Engineer.

    Qualifications: 

    • BSc, BEng, BTech

    Graduate Process Engineer

    Responsibilities

    • Keep abreast of discipline developments, new technology and techniques.
    • Carry out technical investigations, including development of computer programs, produce technical reports as and when required.
    • Ensure that the requirements of Licensor’s / Client’s Secrecy Agreements are known and complied with in the work performed. 
    • Ensure that the Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality Assurance Procedures are followed during the execution of all contracts and that a high standard of safety is achieved in all process engineering work.
    • Carry out design work of a unit or units as required by the Lead Process Engineer in accordance with the agreed project schedule.
    • Advise the Lead Process Engineer of any slippages and their causes and the proposed corrective action.
    • Advise the Lead Process Engineer of any technical problems and unresolved differences with other groups.
    • Notify the Lead Process Engineer of all deficiencies in the flow of data or other basic information required for execution of work.
    • Assist the Lead Process Engineer with progress reports.
    • Carry out simulations of processes using simulation packages such as, Aspen, Pro II and Hysys.
    • Using the basis of design advised by the Lead Process Engineer, make detailed calculations to develop the design and be responsible for the accuracy of these calculations.
    • Ensure that detail design methods, standards and data used meet the Client’s requirements and/or those issued by the company.
    • Prepare process flow diagrams, equipment specifications and process descriptions for review and approval by the Lead Process Engineer.
    • Complete thermal designs / ratings for shell and tube exchangers and air coolers and thermal design data sheets for review and approval by the Lead Process Engineer.
    • Prepare process specifications for instrumentation and control for review and approval by the Lead Process Engineer. Assist as required in the preparation of control narratives.
    • Prepare hazardous area classification notes for review by the lead process engineer.
    • Review engineering flow diagrams(EFD’s)  and submit comments to Lead Process Engineer. Prepare contract engineering design (CED’s) documents, as required, to communicate changes / design information.
    • Prepare process summaries and schedules (effluents & emissions, chemicals & catalysts, utilities, battery limits and, relief and blowdown).
    • On request, review Supplier’s quotations from a process engineering standpoint. On order placement, review Supplier drawings and documents and provide comments.
    • Participate in EFD reviews, HAZOP’s and any other design reviews
    • Participate in review of project model.
    • Assist, as required, in the preparation of operating manuals.
    • File process calculations and other documents in the proper manner at the conclusion of design work.
    • Provide process support to the other engineering disciplines.
    • Rotate to other departments and carry out the duties applicable to that department.
    • Perform such duties as may reasonably be assigned by the Chief Process Engineer.

    Qualifications: 

    • BSc, BEng, BTech (Chemical)
    • None to 2 Years minimum experience

    Graduate Mechanical Engineer

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the engineering of all rotating equipment, mechanical handling and packaged units on assigned projects.
    • Responsible for preparation of project related standards and job notes.
    • Prepare project specific standards and job notes.
    • Prepare requisition index for rotating equipment, mechanical handling and packaged units, indicating planned issue date for each requisition. Update and reissue monthly.
    • Prepare general notes requisitions for rotating equipment, mechanical handling and packaged units.
    • Review flow sheets for correctness of depicting of rotating equipment, mechanical handling and packaged units, operating and design conditions and piping and instrumentation connections.
    • Compile mechanical datasheets and requisition rotating equipment, mechanical handling and packaged units.

    Chief Designer (Instrument)

    Responsibilities

    • Review project schedules with the Chief Instrument Engineer to verify that all dates and project requirements are realistic.
    • Prepare project specific standards and job notes.
    • Set up and operate the appropriate sections of DMS.
    • Prepare and maintain a Drawing Index for all Instrumentation Design Drawings, indicating planned and actual issue dates inclusive of the various revisions. 
    • Design preparation, production and approval of instrument drawings as appropriate.
    • Review and approve air distribution schedules, instrument cable block diagrams, cable and drum schedules, cable racking / routing drawings, instrument representation on the model, loop drawings and termination detail drawings
    • Review and comment on drawings and ensure that the quality of design drawings produced for enquiry and fabrication purposes is of satisfactory standard and in accordance with the relevant client and company specifications.
    • Comment on other discipline drawings and specifications where relevant. Review and approve the instrument interface drawings applicable to mechanical and electrical interface.
    • Review package supplier drawings as requested by the Instrument Engineer responsible for the equipment.
    • Using the instrument database and project specifications / standards, produce instrument hook-up drawings and instrument installation detail drawings.
    • Produce, review and approve instrument location drawings based on the instrument database, EFD’s and plant layout drawings.
    • Develop / provide input on the 3D Model to clarify instrument requirements on the model inclusive of cable racking, junction boxes, air headers and field instrument placements.
    • Produce, review and approve instrument loop diagrams and termination schedules utilising the In-Tools database.
    • Maintain the instrument design database and drawing register in a current project state.
    • Review and approve instrument requisitions for instrument cable and junction boxes.
    • Review and approve Instrument contract indirect BOM. 
    • Liaise with engineers to ensure design intent on various projects is implemented.
    • Liaise closely with CAD Operators and instrument designers for the creation and validation of instrument design drawings and deliverables.
    • Advise the Chief Instrument Engineer of any slippages, their cause and proposed corrective action.
    • Advise the Chief Instrument Engineer of any technical problems and unresolved differences with other disciplines.
    • Notify the Chief Instrument Engineer of all deficiencies in the flow of data or other basic information required for execution of work.
    • Assist the Chief Instrument Engineer with estimates, progress assessment and control of manpower on assigned projects.
    • Suggest ways to improve efficiency, costs and service in the execution of projects.
    • Keep abreast of developments in the Instrument Engineering field.
    • Perform any other duties assigned within reason by the Chief Instrument Engineer.
