    Cost Analyst: Culinary - Johannesburg

    THE JOB AT A GLANCE

    You are responsible to drive continuous improvement in the unit in order to maintain and improve operating efficiencies, reduce cost and improve sustainability You will act as a custodian for the production batch/job management as well as stock management process You will provide support to the process engineer and production staff, with a particular focus on tracking financial benefits around continuous improvement and value add projects.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    • Perform data analysis, root cause analysis and work with the cost accountant to implement process improvements to support issue resolution and optimizing production processes to eliminate losses, improve capacity, throughput and reduce conversion cost. 
    • Assist with mass balance calculations and monitoring of actual waste factors vs benchmarked standards. 
    • Monitor material issues and returns and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures 
    • Track the financial benefits associated with the various improvement projects
    • Work with the Production, R&D, Technology and Quality teams to support the design of new systems and processes for the introduction of new products and the improvement of existing processes, with regard to financial benefits 
    • Ensure that jobs and batches are opened and closed timeously
    • Report on actual volumes and variances vs plan on a daily basis, escalating to cost accountant and site management for action, in order to minimize losses
    • Assist Cost Accountant with variance analysis and validation monthly 
    • Training production staff to complete basic system transactions, to ensure that internal controls and standard practice is followed at all times 
    • Assist cost accountant with internal controls at the unit ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures and assist with preparation and support during audits and self-assessments. 
    • Attend stock takes and assist cost accountant to ensure compliance to standard operating procedure

    QUALIFICATIONS

    WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE

    • Graduate with a 3-year degree/diploma in costing, administration or related fields.
    • FMCG experience is required
    • Oracle experience preferred

    Finance Manager: BDS - TBI (Johannesburg)

    THE JOB AT A GLANCE

    This role will partner with the Category Financial Director to provide the financial management of a selected business unit, ensuring all necessary procedures and policies are in place and are properly followed.  Focus on the integrity, accuracy and completeness of financial records in compliance with IFRS.  Managing the team of accountants and provide the review and oversight of balance sheet reconciliations and journals.   You will also review all financial reporting, including but not limited to, monthly management packs, budgets, forecasts, tax packs, audit packs and profit estimates.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    • Provides the Category Financial Director with strong financial support in all aspects of the business/ Category including Marketing/ Innovation / NPD & Pricing scenario’s
    • Establish and lead the annual budget and quarterly forecast process of a selected business unit including all manufacturing sites and stock locations associated with the business unit/ Category
    • Manage the year end process of a selected business unit/ Category including the review and submission of the year end financial pack and tax pack
    • Manage the month-end close process for the selected business unit/ Category
    • Provide financial inputs and ad-hoc reports on all business related activities
    • Review and approve the journals and reconciliations prepared by the financial accountants
    • Complete capex’s that is ready for the approval process. Up to date list of capex’s and position in approval process
    • Implement and maintain proper financial systems and controls 
    • Review and oversight of all reporting, including, but not limited to, monthly management packs, budgets, forecasts, tax packs, audit packs and profit estimates
    • You will deliver motivated, well-trained and informed accounting and reporting team that deliver output and services according to expectations
    • Manage foreign exchange transactions and ensure adherence to IFRS and Group forex policy
    • Provide annual declaration of assets and business risks to be insured with adequate consideration given to replacement values and risk management issues

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Key attributes and competencies

    • CIMA or CA(SA), exceptions will be considered
    • Strong communication skills, leadership and coaching skills
    • Business analytical skills
    • Strong Finance business background 
    • Advanced knowledge in the use of financial software applications, databases, spreadsheets and word processing required
    • Be able to make sound, independent judgements
      Ability to clearly communicate and share storytelling and influencing decisions

    Experience

    • 8 - 12 years total experience, with 3 – 5 years relevant FMCG management accounting experience in multiple categories

    Maintenance Coordinator, Jungle Oats - Cape Town

    THE JOB AT A GLANCE:

    Responsible for ensuring optimal equipment reliability by managing artisans and ensuring proper execution and evaluation of all maintenance work on site

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE:

    Core knowledge – Engineering knowledge, Maintenance Management, Planning skills, Maintenance system knowledge, CCMS knowledge, MS Office skills, Problem solving knowledge, People Skill, SHEQ and World Class Manufacturing knowledge

    WHAT YOU WILL DO:

    • Unsafe conditions & work practices are identified and corrected as per standard maintenance procedures
    • All relevant Health & Safety legislation complied with
    • Relevant safety equipment and protective clothing are utilized
    • All housekeeping standards are adhered to.
    • Work Orders issued to specific Artisans for specific times to conduct planned maintenance activities as per schedule.
    • Ensure all work (planned & breakdown) has a work order and once completed is duly signed off & captured on CMMS
    • Manage Artisans
    • Managed contractors
    • All maintenance activities in the Plant (including assisting & allocating resources for breakdown activities to ensure quality workmanship on all maint work)
    • Root cause analyses carried out on breakdowns.
    • Ensure job cards checked for completion,  signed off & captured on CMMS
    • Corrective action taken where work is not executed according to plan.
    • Under/ over or inappropriate maintenance activities identified.
    • Recommendations made to Engineer/ Maintenance Planner to improve maintenance mix.
    • Maintenance schedules reviewed and optimised periodically
    • All maintenance KPI’s reviewed and corrective action taken where necessary.
    • Frequent formal OoO’s held with all direct reports
    • On-going, informal performance monitoring, feedback and coaching provided daily or as required.
    • Coaching on technical skills & standard engineering practices provided on the job where necessary.
    • Capability gap analyses conducted to determine both current and future development needs for Artisans

    QUALIFICATIONS

    ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Academic  Minimum 3 years' practical hands-on as a qualified Artisan. 1 years' Supervisory experience.  
    •  Ideal N6 or Diploma Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Trade Test.
    • Leadership –Leader/motivator, Influencer, Assertive, Results oriented, Good judgment
    • Personal Effectiveness –, Logical, attention to details, ability to make decisions, ability to issue and follow instructions, Self-starter/self-driven.
