Qualification, Experience and Competencies

• Qualified artisan in related trade will be an advantage
• National diploma in operational risk management will be an advantage

Key Output

• Quickly and efficiently, diagnose machine systems and carry out repairs, services and maintenance on Earthmoving Equipment on customer sites or at BWE site.
• Compile accurate customer machine analysis and reports including Machine Inspection Reports (MIR’s) and Technical Analysis Reports (TA’s)
• Maintain professional image when representing BWE
• Ensure safe work practice
• Control Contamination own admin (labour booking, service reports, part returns, expenses etc.)
• Follow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of own work are consistently and accurately maintained

Qualification, Experience and Competencies

• Matric or Equivalent
• Qualified in relevant trade (e.g. Diesel Mechanic / Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic) NQF 3
• At least 2 year experience after qualifying
• Machine specific technical knowledge and skills
• Sound interpersonal and communication skills
• Basic technical report writing and business and financial understanding
• Some Computer Literacy (SIS, STW & ET) knowledge
• Basic trouble shooting and problem solving skills
• Applicable product knowledge
• Drivers licence – Code B
• Understanding of supplier warranty systems, policies & procedures

Key Output

• Correctly identify the needs of the customer using all information possible (Serial number, model number etc…)
• Create quotes and follow up with customers daily.
• Convert all quotes to sales orders with the correct pricing against the quote.
• Ensure that all regions are checked for available stock before an Airfreight or emergency order is created.
• Process parts orders and back orders efficiently and effectively as per above
• Maintain all open back orders that gets cancelled or grieved by JDC as well as the sales order.
• Action grieved orders using SIS for the reason the order was grieved and liaise with JDC.
• Ensure that all quotes are maintained and closed daily with the correct reason for not converting this to a sale.
• Liaise with customers to generate quotes.
• Do daily follow ups with customers on open quotes.
• Follow up on all parts on backorder or emergency and provide / communicate progress to the customers on a daily basis.
• Create credit returns in line with the credit return policy.
• Maintain all backorders and Sales orders linked to outstanding purchase orders.

Key Outputs

• Will be responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairs , Perkins and Caterpillar Engines associated with Industrial OEM units and Generators.
• Repair of all faults that is identified during a service.
• Clean out plant rooms and panels if necessary.
• Responsible for collection of parts at the store and compiling of parts for services.
• A clear understanding of engine and panel control systems
• Musty be able to write accurate and detailed reports for customers.
• Responsible to return all Remanufactured and unused parts to the store timeously.
• Follow correct disposal process of old oils, filters and parts in workshop.

Qualification, Experience and Competencies

• Must be a qualified Electrician or Diesel Mechanic/Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic(Relevant trade)

• Computer Literate (MS Office).
• Valid Driver’s license Code 8.
• Must have experience in Diesel Generators and the operation thereof (Caterpillar and Perkins and other
• brands).
• Must be punctual, trustworthy and be able to work unsupervised.
• Must be willing to work overtime if required as well as underground from time to time.
• Be prepared to travel and willing to sleep out if necessary.
• Gas engine experience would be an advantage.
• Trouble shooting on electrical systems including change overs and power distribution boards.
• High voltage electrician qualification and experience.

Key Outputs

• Develop apprentices and learners according tBWE and national requirements.
• Drive knowledge assessments (DPC/ SGAs) and provide input intIDPs for artisans.
• Perform training needs analyses and schedule employees in own region for development and gap closure.

• Conduct training for first year study school for apprentices
• Ensure apprentices are qualified according tcontractual timelines.
• Plan and control a structured experience building on the job development program. This includes:
• planning and scheduling apprentice rotation
• Regular one-on-one contact with apprentices tevaluate individual progress for moderation purposes.
• Facilitate on-job performance evaluation.

Qualification, Experience and Competencies

• Qualified in relevant trade (e.g. Diesel Mechanic / Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic) – “Red Seal”
• Caterpillar Certified (Foundational)
• ETDP NQ4, Certified Assessor and Moderator advantageous
• 3 years post qualification experience in relevant industry
