    Sr. Software Project Manager

    Overview

    Reporting to the Manager of Software Project management, the primary focus of this position will be to facilitate the completion of the program, project and development releases of the projects that they or their resources are assigned.

    They are responsible to coordinate all the efforts of Project Management, while ensuring open communication and best work practices for the entire department including BA’s, Software Engineering, QA Engineering, and Implementation to meet the specified requirements of a given software project/program.

    This role is responsible to ensure the project/program releases adhere to the agreed schedule, scope, and budget as is defined in the process documentation. This position will manage the development(s) and deployment(s) of new warehouse and distribution center automation solutions throughout the project/program lifecycle

    Responsibilities

    • Apply engineering concepts in accordance with Fortna’s engineering objectives to drive the development and deployment of creative, effective, and timely software solutions within the triple constraints of schedule, scope, and budget
    • Preparing, publishing, distributing, and maintaining detailed project schedules, and communications with clients
    • Liaising with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis
    • Setting and continually managing project/program expectations with sprint teams and other stakeholders
    • Interfacing with multiple groups within a lifecycle which include internal sprint teams, external stakeholders, resources, and end users
    • Identifying, managing, and controlling the change control process both with internal and external stakeholders
    • Assuming responsibilities for risk management and risk mitigation
    • Tracking project costs and preparing associated forecasts
    • Ensuring that project releases are completed to design specifications and as per the “Definition of Done”
    • Managing issues as they arise, creating and tracking risks, and mitigating them consistently
    • Traveling to project sites as necessary to facilitate successful project implementation
    • Creating and managing project records; archiving proper files for retention through Fortna’s Data Management System
    • Attending internal and external project meetings
    • Conducting project post-mortems and prepare recommendations report identifying successful and unsuccessful project elements
    • Participate and help drive continuous process improvements and adoption to ensure delivery of extremely high-quality software projects

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field
    • At least one year in a project management role within the company leading at least three projects independently
    • Four to seven years of technical experience with project management
    • Cross functional team management experience
    • Strong understanding of software principles and methodologies
    • Ability to employ persuasion/negotiation skills with discretion and consideration
    • Project costing and forecasting experience
    • Risk management and risk mitigation experience
    • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
    • Highly motivated, directed and a team player
    • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

    Sr. Project Manager

    Overview

    The Sr. Project Manager (Sr. PM) is responsible for ensuring all projects and associates working under their leadership deliver on time, on budget, and within scope. The Sr. PM is a recognized technical authority in the areas of Material Handling Systems (MHS), Control Systems, and Warehouse Management. They will be responsible for delegating tasks, as well as personally developing, delivering, and leading discussions pertaining to reports for both Fortna management and client leadership. Experience needs to include a broad understanding of project management understanding and showcasing judgment to plan and accomplish organizational goals.

    • Manages multiple, large complex projects with $30M+ budgets
    • Utilizes a broad understanding of project governance activities and tools in the delivery of projects and management of project risks
    • Executes general processes associated with change controls, approvals, and information exchange involving both internal and external stakeholders and subcontractors

    Qualifications

    Education:

    Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience or 13+ years of work experience in one of the following disciplines: industrial, mechanical, or civil engineering; industrial or construction management.

    Director, Software Solutions Consulting

    Overview

    The Software Solutions Consulting Director acts as the primary technical resource to the account management teams and their clients, articulating software technology and product capabilities to business and technical stakeholders. Our Software Solutions team partners with clients, suppliers, and internal resources to uncover and understand software requirements and create a comprehensive software solution.
