    Customer Repair Representative (Port Elizabeth)

    The NOV Aftermarket Group is currently recruiting for a Customer Repair Representative (Sales Engineer) to join our team in Gqeberha, South Africa.  The role offers the opportunity to be part of a professional, dynamic team, responsible for supporting our customer operations based in Sub-Saharan Africa. As a Customer Repair Representative (Sales Engineer), you are responsible for the creation and distribution of quotes. Responsible for coordinating and interfacing with customers, suppliers and other departments within NOV to ensure project success.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Receive, log & review customer RFQ’s. Contact customers to define/clarify the necessary scope of work as required.
    • Create, revise and update scope of work and/or Quality Plans based on customer/project requirements.
    • Liaise with customer and Certifying Authorities as applicable on approved Quality Plans ensuring the pre-defined scope of work is reviewed and approved by all parties.
    • Generate costing estimates based on the defined scope of work.
    • Request Outside Vendor (OSV) quotes as required.
    • Create and distribute quotes per NOV Order Management BPA requirements.
    • Revise quotes as required throughout the project.
    • Ensure all incoming customer purchase orders are captured within the ERP system.
    • Facilitate work scope handovers to Project Engineers (Production Planning and Control Analysts).
    • Work closely with Production Planning and Control Analyst and department managers/supervisors on updating projects for customer requirements.
    • Communicate with the customer regularly, reporting progress of all jobs in order to keep them properly informed. Facilitate solutions regarding client complaints and other issues.
    • Work according to the Global Repair and Order Management BPA processes.
    • Have a good understanding of the BPA processes related to other NOV business lines (Quality Assurance, Order Management, Projects, Spares, Warranty, etc.).

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Grade 12 with higher education degree/diploma in Mechanical / Mechatronics / Industrial Engineering (desirable).

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Minimum of 5 year’s experience in Manufacturing, Heavy Engineering or Project Management environment (essential).
    • Product Specific Knowledge on Rig Floor and/or Pressure Control Equipment (desirable).
    • Project Management experience (desirable).

    SKILLS, TRAINING & SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE:

    • Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Outlook) (essential).
    • RigDoc knowledge, basic to advanced knowledge level (desirable).
    • Proficiency in NOV systems including, Tracker, RigOffice, Team Centre (desirable).
    • Interpret schematics, drawings and bill of materials (desirable).

    Electrical Engineer (Port Elizabeth)

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Research, develop, and design Electrical and electronic interface circuitry for control of products.
    • Work with customers (internal/external) and review project defining documents to understand project requirements.
    • Create and/or design electrical drawings and documentation. (Typical; block diagram, termination diagram, electrical schematic, interconnect, cabling, and assembly drawings and BOMs.)
    • Ensure electrical scope and content is defined during initial design processes.
    • Provide electrical leadership in preparation, and ensure that deliverables projects are controlled with regard to scope, schedule, budget, performing appraisal, etc.
    • Establish design criteria for deliverables using required codes and standards.
    • Review contractual content to ensure technical and regulatory compliance.
    • Ensure subsequent design changes are documented and transmitted as required to internal and external resources.
    • Participate in design review.
    • Provide manufacturing with technical assistance.
    • Provide technical support during testing.
    • Review and approve engineering documentation provided by external groups.
    • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
    • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.

    Educations & Experience Qualifications

    • Advanced Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
    • Preferred 5+ years of experience designing control systems.

    • CompEx training or equivalent is a plus.
    • Experience from using AutoCAD design tool will be an advantage

    Administrative Assistant (Temporary 6 months) (Cape Town)

    Administrative assistants is part of the centralized Africa payment team and supports the team with all activities aiming to prepare and follow up on IC payments. Providing status reports, communicate and  support finance across the region.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Working closely with operations and finance teams across the region to establish import documentation, service level agreements, local content, tax, central bank and foreign exchange regulations and requirements to facilitate all IC payments.
    • Assist in establishing centralised IC AP and payments process.
    • Working closely with operations and finance teams in country to collate all documents necessary for submission of foreign payments to the banks. Liaising with the banks to ensure payments are released.
    • Working closely with ICP where needed to support the process.
    • Preparation of financial information and supporting schedules for weekly reporting on IC indicators.
    • Provide status reports, communicate and address challenges, support finance across the region.
    • Perform any other duties as reasonably required by Management.
    • Obtain all legal invoices approved through legal tracker directly from legal team and process through ERP in line with AP process above

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

    QUALIFICATIONS:   Third Year of Bachelor degree or higher degree in Accounting or Finance.

    EXPERIENCE

    • Knowledge of US GAAP and SOX reporting. (desired)
    • ERP system experience (desired)
    • Highly detail orientated and organized in work
    • Disciplined, action orientated and practical
    • Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives

    GL Accountant (Cape Town)

    The GL Accountant is a centralized role managing various ledgers across Africa, analyse financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements. All while ensuring compliance with appropriate accounting control procedures, NOV policy  and local statutory requirements across different regions within Africa. 

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Accounts Receivable & Payable:-

    • Monthly reconciliation of all Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable ledger accounts
    • Balance GL to AR and AP sub-system balances
    • Provision for doubtful debts calculations
    • Process all payments and receipts via the ERP system and reconcile statements
    • Obtain IC invoices and supporting documents from IC partners
    • Accrue of IC invoices not processed
    • Reconcile IC balances with other IC partners
    • Ensure that the General Ledger and Fixed Asset/Lease sub-systems are aligned
    • Apply technical knowledge to the capitalization and decapitalization of assets
    • Ensure additions and disposals to fixed assets/leases are recorded accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with the entity’s policy

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelors or higher degree in Accounting or Finance. (essential)
    • Professional Accountant (SA), AGA (SA) (desired)

    Experience

    •  2-3 years accounting experience (essential)
    • SAIPA/SAICA Articles/formal accounting training, knowledge of IFRS (essential)
    • Knowledge of US GAAP and SOX reporting. (desired)
