    Responsibilities

    What we’re looking for:

    • Achievement of revenue and volume target as per Annual Operating Plan
    • Achievement of 100% customer call rate
    • Achieve 90% strike rate

    Engineer Maintenance - Aliwal North Mill

    Responsibilities
    What we’re looking for:

    • We're looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join the team.
    • The main purpose of the role is to oversee the safe operation and maintenance of the plant and the equipment.
    • Ensuring that the relevant statutory regulations are adhered to (GMR2). Ensuring that preventative maintenance is implemented and upheld to enable maximum production availability and efficiency. To manage technical, process and internal projects and equipment upgrades and enhancements to achieve significant benefits.
    • Control the maintenance and energy budget. Ensure occupational health, safety & environment standards are in place and upheld. T
    • he successful candidate should be a self-starter with innovative technical abilities and strong people skills in order to effectively lead and manage a diverse group of individuals.
    • The candidate must possess analytical abilities and proven experience in resolving plant breakdowns through permanent solutions.
    • A proactive mindset is required as the candidate will be required to plan and manage challenging objectives within an unpredictable environment.
    • The endurance level of this individual has to be above average because of the long hours and physical activities required.

    PLANT ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Implement and manage the planned and preventative maintenance strategy based on the operational requirements of the plant.Improve maintenance related KPI’s by carrying out the maintenance strategy with the sites engineering staff.
    • Manage the execution of all outstanding and ongoing planned and adhoc worklists.
    • Continuously review plant related KPI’s and align the maintenance strategy to attain key site objectives.
    • Maintain Equipment Information and repair programs on SAP
    • Maintenance and Inventory Management.Refine PM schedules in SAP to be more relevant and effective.
    • Liaise with project coordinator and support Artisans for the control and co-ordination of contractors.
    • Ensure engineering stores management in line with COSO audit requirements.
    • Develop & report on monthly
    • Engineering and Inventory related KPI's.Compile plant and equipment performance reports, graphs and presentations.

    PEOPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Ensure that stores personnel maintain an efficient spare parts list.Set up an annual training program for all maintenance personnel.
    • Build team capability and maintain a well disciplined and competent workforce.Coordinate daily activities with production and other departments and communicate to Senior Artisans.
    • Manage all maintenance personnel i.e. Performance Management, Discipline, safety gear, leave planning and utilisation of staff.
    • The total management of administration issues:
    • Time and attendance approvals, following procedures, using maintenance software, safety inspections and OHSAct (safety legislation) requirements.
    • Ensure all legal requirements of the OHSAct (safety legislations) are adhere to.

    COST CONTROL

    • All maintenance overtime has to be coordinated and managed with-in budgetDay to day maintenance activities have to stay with-in approved budgetAll spares drawn from the store and maintenance activities have to be coupled to cost control

    Qualifications
    What will qualify you for the role

    • Technical Trade or National Training Certificate – (National diploma Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineer) - B. Eng Degree is advantageous Government Certificate of Competency is a requirement
    • Minimum 5 years maintenance experience in the FMCG environment and 3 years managerial
    • Milling Process Experience would be advantageous
    • Computer literate with knowledge of MS Office and maintenance software
    • Technical abilities to resolve complex engineering plant breakdowns
    • Analytical thinker with the ability to think globally
    • Knowledge of the OHSAct (safety legislation) is essential
    • Experience in spares handling for engineering department

    Specialist Artisan (Millwright) - Ceres Beverages Plant x2

    Responsibilities
    What we’re looking for:

    • We are looking for a Specialist Artisan to join our dynamic team .
    • The main purpose of the role is to primarily to ensure that all plant equipment is functioning or operating at high levels of reliability and are maintained periodically as scheduled and all breakdowns are resolved soonest in order to ensure maximum plant availability as well as ensuring that the factory meets its key KPIs and supply the market with Pepsico products which include but are not limited to volume and quality compliance, costs and downtime reduction.
    • Ability to coach operator, provide innovation for cost savings and be accountable for MPS, SA on respective production lines.

    Accountabilities:

    • Maintain the machine to reach high reliability, safety and quality standard
    • Performs Instrumentation/ Electrical maintenance activities associated with plant process and packaging plan
    • Must be willing to do Mechanical work if required
    • Monitors daily downtime and institute corrective action plans to prevent breakdowns
    • Calibrates, repairs and maintains control gear/ instrumentation and associated equipment to ensure operation within set standardsMaintains PLC’s, Networks and Electrical Cabinets (hardware and software) and performs changes/ modifications as required
    • Continuously evaluates the process control philosophy and initiate improvement actions in order to achieve asset performance targetsAssists in commissioning of modifications/ projectsEnsures proper documentation of changes/ modifications and perform internal audits
    • Ensures availability of spares for all electronic/ control systems in the plantAccurate and timeous reporting of equipment deviations to meet/ improve equipment availability and reliability targetsEnsures proper back-up of all PLC programmes and maintains records of all upgrades
    • Ensures safe operations of process control systems
    • Resolves daily plant instrumentation issues and complete root cause analysis
    • Calibration of process equipment
    • Completes the required testing and safety checks on all instrumentation equipment
    • Conducts all scheduled maintenance within the required timeframes
    • Performs all emergency electronic maintenance
    • Updates and reviews documentation relating to work done and or changes in original specifications
    • Signs off on alternative systems suppliers based on equipment performance
    • Must be willing to work shifts and overtime if requested.

    • Maintaining a record of all the maintenance work that has been conducted on the machinery

    Qualifications
    What will qualify you for the role:

    • Qualified Artisan with Trade Test Certificate in Instrumentation (must be willing to do mechanical work also)
    • Minimum 2 years maintenance experience in the Production/ FMCG environment
    • Experience of TETRAPAK equipment will be advantageous
    • Computer literate with knowledge of MS Office and maintenance software
    • Knowledge of Processing in a dairy-/ fruit juice environment, including Tubular Pasteurizers/ Sterilizers (TETRA THERM ASEPTIC DRINK)
    • Must have knowledge of ink jet printers/ date coders
    • Must have experience in control systems – PLC’s, ACDC drives and Servo drives (Allen Bradley and Siemens preferable)
    • Knowledge of Instrumentation, HAZOP studies, PID’s and Quality Standards
