PURPOSE OF THE JOB: 

Responsible for coaching on how to create and optimize CNC programmers that manufacture complex production parts on CNC multi-axis machines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. CNC programmers will be developed from supplied engineering drawings and CAM software. Collaborate with manufacturing Engineers during process engineering; aid in setting up machines. Assist and other set-ep people and operators with technical assistance on how to operate a CNC machine. Compilation and development of training documentation and material. Plan, arrange and facilitate training courses for operational personnel.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Develop and compile training documentation and material for manufacturing facilities and processes.
• Plan and prepare training facilities equipment and resources.
• Facilitate training sessions and activities.
• Conduct training assessments; invigilation of assessments.
• Complete training administration.
• Provide inputs for budget planning for training schedules.
• Facilitate CNC machinery training courses.
• Monitor training results.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

POST REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 Qualification, and Trade Test.
• National Certificate CNC Production Machining (NQF 3).
• Minimum of 10 years applicable CNC operations experience.
• Must be flexible and innovative.
• Good problem solving.
• Good interpersonal, communication, planning and conflict management skills.
• ETD practitioner qualifications with proven experience as a Training Facilitator and/or Assessor preferred.
• Experience in compilation and development of training and technical documentation and material will be advantageous.
• Advanced computer skills, with at least 5 years’ experience using Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Written and verbal English Communication proficiency required.
• Willingness to travel.

EXPECTED AREAS OF COMPETENCES

• Strong knowledge of all relevant machinery, tooling measuring, and gauging equipment and use of proper handling methods in assigned areas.
• Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes in assigned area.
• Knowledge of multi-axis complex CNC machines.
• Knowledge of machine controllers (Fanuc, Siemens)
• Understanding of lean manufacturing concepts and objects.
• Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees, including engineers, management and technical professionals.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Responsible for the management of all employees and operations within DVV facility.
• Responsible for the execution of the production sales plan according to the MPS.
• Ensure that all relevant Safety, Health, Environment, Quality and Explosive regulatory requirements/ systems or standards are adhered to.
• Responsible for driving continuous improvement within their facilities.
• Responsible for the issue of work permits, job cards, etc.
• Responsible for staff motivation, training and development, performance management, timekeeping and discipline. Maintain open and effective communication i.e., regular information sessions.
• Lead and manage the implementation, and maintenance of LEAN principles and methodologies within the respective facility.
• Utilization of the company’s ERP/MES/Systems to monitor, record and control plant performance

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• National Senior Certificate or equivalent.
• 3 years’ experience in Supervision of a production plant.
• At least 5 years’ experience in operating a hazardous chemical handling process.
• Able to work on SAP.
• Ability to work with Team Centre.
• Proven ability to manage a team.
• Good communication skills (i.e., both verbal and written)
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with other service and related departments.
• Accountable for ensuring that manufacturing of products occurs as per the Product Manufacturing Instructions and the Quality Control Plan.
• Must be able to work shifts and overtime on short notice.
