    Senior Technical Sales Representative - Middelburg

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.  Adhere to all Safety Health Environment (SHE) and housekeeping requirements at the branch and customer sites at all times.  Adhere to Duty of Care Policy at all times.
    • Customer support: provide world-class technical support and after sales service to clients with a high level of professionalism.  Conduct sales calls and deliver impactful technical product presentations, demos and trials that clearly communicate the uniqueness of the value proposition.  Travel extensively in the region to sell into new prospects, as well as farming back into existing customers.  Submit quotations, tenders (where applicable), technical data, drawings and relevant information to customers within a reasonable period.
    • Sales growth: Grow product installed base in the region through upselling and cross-selling new products and services.  Providing equal attention to established customers as to growing new business.
    • Strategy:  Provide market intelligence about customers and competitors to help identify and develop new markets, sales strategy and support accurate forecasting.

    Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications: 

    • National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree (Mechanical / Metallurgical Engineering) or any equivalent combination of education and experience
    • 5 – 8 years’ related technical sales experience in minerals processing equipment
    • Valid Driver’s licence – extensive travel to mining locations within the region is required
    • Computer literate – Microsoft Office suite, CRM e.g. Salesforce (ERP Software e.g. SAP is advantageous)
    • Advanced knowledge of full Weir product portfolio
    • Manual pump calculations experience (Weir products is advantageous)
    • Technical report writing experience
    • Demonstrate understanding of TCO and Integrated Solutions and track record of implementation
    • Proven sales track record
    • You will be a proactive, confident and self-motivated individual that takes pride in the quality of work you deliver with the ability to work under pressure. You should possess strong communication, presentation, technical selling and negotiation skills and exceptional customer relationship building skills including the ability to manage difficult customers and honour customer commitments.  You should also have the ability to identify and solve problems in a timely manner.

    Specialist: Planning - Johannesburg

    Key Responsibilities: 

    Safety First:

    Manage Production: 

    • Manage daily line output by effectively managing production loading and by successful implementation of systems to manage the age of WIP, flow through the plant, and determine root causes and countermeasures on misses
    • Effective reporting at a senior level by providing feedback on the state of production

    Manage Cost:

    • Assist in managing production data i.e. routings, methods, data analysis etc
    • Identification of subcontracting, outsourcing and insourcing requirements.

    Lean Principles

    • Understanding economic batch sizes.
    • Consistent application of JIT principles in production loading 

    Quality Assurance:

    • Demonstrate 100% commitment towards zero defects and process improvements
    • Use 5-Why’s and A3 tools for scrap countermeasures and preventative measurements
    • Implementation of sustainable systems to control daily targets and outputs
    • Use of velocity reports to manage lead time and aging
    • Use of OTD reports to manage delivery
    • Use of availability reports to manage delivery

    Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications: 

    • Industrial Engineering or Metallurgy Engineering Degree
    • Strong knowledge of SAP
    • 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment (in production planning)
    • Administrative experience in the manufacturing industry (pump/process manufacturing environment would be an advantage)
    • Exposure to and implementation of lean manufacturing
    • Implementation and maintenance of the OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 standards

    VMI Storeman - Richards Bay

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.  Adhere to all Safety Health Environment (SHE) and housekeeping requirements at the branch and customer sites at all times.  Adhere to Duty of Care Policy at all times.
    • Customer support: Maintain and increase service levels at the customer’s VMI store.  Attend customer meetings as the Weir representative on site. Improve response times to the customer and manage or escalate queries. Liaise with staff at the branch. Expedite orders, track and action back orders.
    • Stock control:  Manage and maintain stock / bin levels (inventory control). Highlight and report low stock items to be ordered.  Load and release stock received on the customer’s ERP system (SAP). Control incoming and outgoing stock.  Picking, binning and loading of customer orders. Pack, crate or palletise goods for transit. Loading and unloading of trucks, delivery and collection of stock.
    • Data management: Manage data on customer’s ERP system (SAP).  Provide various stock reports as required by the customer.  Stock accuracy.

    Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications: 

    • Matric (Grade 12) certificate
    • Relevant tertiary certificate an advantage (warehousing/ logistics/inventory control) or any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates that have the ability to perform the objectives above
    • Valid driver’s licence (C1) and Professional Driver's Permit (PrDP)
    • 2-3 years’ related experience in warehousing, logistics and inventory control
    • Computer literate – Microsoft Office suite, ERP software (SAP is advantageous)
    • You must be an individual that takes pride in the quality of work you deliver, demonstrating attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness. In addition, you should also possess solid communication skills, the ability to identify and solve problems in a timely manner, manage difficult customers, honour customer commitments, plan and prioritise work activities and to work under pressure.  You also need to have the ability to analyse and interpret reports and documents.
