Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture. Adhere to all Safety Health Environment (SHE) and housekeeping requirements at the branch and customer sites at all times. Adhere to Duty of Care Policy at all times.
Customer support: Maintain and increase service levels at the customer’s VMI store. Attend customer meetings as the Weir representative on site. Improve response times to the customer and manage or escalate queries. Liaise with staff at the branch. Expedite orders, track and action back orders.
Stock control: Manage and maintain stock / bin levels (inventory control). Highlight and report low stock items to be ordered. Load and release stock received on the customer’s ERP system (SAP). Control incoming and outgoing stock. Picking, binning and loading of customer orders. Pack, crate or palletise goods for transit. Loading and unloading of trucks, delivery and collection of stock.
Data management: Manage data on customer’s ERP system (SAP). Provide various stock reports as required by the customer. Stock accuracy.
Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
Matric (Grade 12) certificate
Relevant tertiary certificate an advantage (warehousing/ logistics/inventory control) or any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates that have the ability to perform the objectives above
Valid driver’s licence (C1) and Professional Driver's Permit (PrDP)
2-3 years’ related experience in warehousing, logistics and inventory control
Computer literate – Microsoft Office suite, ERP software (SAP is advantageous)
You must be an individual that takes pride in the quality of work you deliver, demonstrating attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness. In addition, you should also possess solid communication skills, the ability to identify and solve problems in a timely manner, manage difficult customers, honour customer commitments, plan and prioritise work activities and to work under pressure. You also need to have the ability to analyse and interpret reports and documents.
