    HR Business Partner

    Your Role 

    You will partner with the Head of HR and business leaders to deliver the people strategy and build high-performing, future-ready teams. You will: 

    • Act as a strategic HR partner to Heads of Department, understanding their business and people needs. 
    • Lead end-to-end talent acquisition and onboarding, including workforce planning, recruitment, selection, talent pipelines and probation. 
    • Drive performance management, including the annual PDR cycle, quarterly check-ins, performance calibration, feedback and performance-improvement plans. 
    • Lead talent reviews and succession planning, identifying critical roles, high-potential talent, capability gaps and development needs. 
    • Plan and coordinate development initiatives, including leadership development, coaching, mentoring and emerging-talent programmes. 
    • Promote a culture of engagement, inclusion, collaboration and accountability through surveys, feedback sessions and targeted interventions. 
    • Support organisational development and change initiatives, including role clarification, team effectiveness and change readiness. 
    • Ensure sound HR governance, including HR reporting, people analytics, compliance with labour legislation, Employment Equity, B-BBEE and POPIA. 
    • Support managers with disciplinary, grievance, incapacity and absenteeism matters, escalating complex cases when needed. 
    • Lead or support HR projects aligned with the people strategy and organisational priorities. 

    Your Experience 

    • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial, Organizational Psychology or a related field.  
    • At least 5 years relevant HR experience, including 3+ years as a HR Business Partner, talent or organizational development role.  
    • Strong HR business partnering skills, with the ability to advise and constructively challenge managers.   
    • Solid knowledge of South African labour legislation (EE, B-BBEE, POPIA)  
    • Proven experience in: End-to-end recruitment, performance management & selection planning, leadership development & employee engagement and Employment Equity, W&RSETA reporting and B-BBEE compliance.  

    It would be desirable if you had: 

    • Exposure to a multinational, technical or professional environment.  
    • Experience with HR Systems.

    Sales and Application Specialist

    The role of Sales & Application Specialist will involve:

    • Proactively identifying new sales opportunities, developing prospective customers and converting opportunities into sales.
    • Achieving or exceeding agreed sales targets, including ophthalmology equipment sales, while supporting customer acquisition and territory growth.
    • Providing applications support and maintenance for the installed product portfolio, helping customers address questions and troubleshoot problems.
    • Presenting products and services that meet customer needs, clearly communicating their features, benefits and value.
    • Building lasting relationships with existing and prospective customers, providing responsive service that supports satisfaction and loyalty.
    • Supporting key opinion leaders in ophthalmology and developing relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
    • Maintaining detailed product knowledge and using your training experience to help customers understand product applications.
    • Monitoring market trends, competitor activity and industry developments, translating insights into opportunities for growth.
    • Maintaining accurate Salesforce records of customer interactions, sales calls and pipeline progress, and achieving agreed call rates by customer type.
    • Collaborating across departments to support company objectives and provide coordinated customer support.
    • Providing additional regional support for the wider company portfolio of devices and related consumables when required.
    • Following sales processes, company policies, industry regulations and Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs requirements.

    Your Experience

    • A degree or equivalent tertiary qualification in a scientific, engineering, technical or product-related field; science or optometry; business administration; marketing; or another relevant discipline.
    • Three to five years of professional experience in medical sales.
    • Previous sales experience with a proven record of achieving targets.
    • Experience delivering training and building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Knowledge and experience of the theatre environment, alongside excellent knowledge of the regional ophthalmology market.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Salesforce.
    • Excellent communication, listening, presentation and negotiation skills, with the ability to explain product value and influence decisions.
    • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and effective time management.
    • Analytical, troubleshooting and decision-making skills, combined with strategic thinking and a proactive approach.
    • The ability to work independently and collaboratively, showing initiative, integrity and a strong focus on customer service.
    • An approachable, supportive manner.

    It would be desirable if you had:

    • Medical sales experience specifically within ophthalmology.
    • Experience selling in a B2B or B2C environment.

    Account Manager

    The role of Account Manager will involve:

    • Proactively identifying new sales opportunities, following up on leads and developing relationships with prospective customers within your designated territory.
    • Understanding customer needs and presenting relevant products, services and solutions, clearly explaining their features, benefits and value.
    • Building strong relationships with existing customers to support satisfaction, account retention and opportunities for further business.
    • Working towards personal sales targets and contributing to wider revenue and profitability objectives through focused sales activity and effective negotiation.
    • Developing detailed knowledge of the ZEISS portfolio and providing support for OPT devices and related consumables across South Africa.
    • Supporting key opinion leaders in cataract surgery and maintaining constructive relationships with customers who have complex consultancy requirements.
    • Responding to customer queries, complaints and specific problems, recording feedback and coordinating with colleagues to resolve issues.
    • Monitoring market trends, competitor activity and industry developments, using these insights to identify opportunities and inform your sales approach.
    • Maintaining accurate records of customer interactions, sales calls, opportunities and pipeline progress using Salesforce and relevant reporting tools.
    • Collaborating with sales, marketing, customer service and other departments to implement promotional strategies and provide coordinated customer support.
    • Following company policies, procedures and relevant industry regulations in all sales and customer activities.

    Your Experience

    • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing or a related field.
    • Three to five years of professional experience in medical sales.
    • Knowledge and experience of working in a theatre environment.
    • Excellent knowledge of the regional ophthalmology market and an understanding of customer needs.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Salesforce.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain product value and build lasting customer relationships.
    • Strong organisational and time management skills to balance customer visits, follow-ups, sales activity and administration.
    • The ability to work independently, take ownership of personal targets and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
    • A proactive approach.

    It would be desirable if you had:

    • Medical sales experience specifically within ophthalmology.
    • Previous sales experience in a B2B or B2C environment.
